Synopsis:
Brie Donado is a brilliant businesswoman and inspired designer of a fashion line. At 31, she’s already sold two business, and is working on securing financing to expand a third, both her passion project and arguably most profitable, her fashion line called Chic Boss. She’s had a tough life, losing her mom at a young age, been plagued by violent and terrifying nightmares, an alcoholic abusive father, and a lifelong best friend, Justin, who ended up cheating on her with her best friend Eryn, almost ten years prior to the start of the story. What isn’t revealed until later is that she also possesses a unique gift of seeing things others can’t.

Her search for an investor earns her a place on the radar of the enigmatic, charming, handsome billionaire Eric Windsor. But it seems Eric’s involvement in her life isn’t entirely what it seems, and neither is the world around her.

This story has great bones; a unique take on Angel and Demon mythology, tension between love interests, a mature, savvy, confident, Black FMC, tragedy, magic, and high stakes.

It’s a great blend of fantasy and paranormal with romantic tension, good pacing, and emotional depth.

This book’s only issues are easily fixed by editing to correct spelling errors, misused words, and perhaps some depictions of emotional responses that don’t really fit the situations they’re in. Some of these issues are numerous and can take you out of the story a bit, but the mystery surrounding Brie and those around her are strong enough to keep you turning pages.

This is indie published and as far as I can tell a debut work for this indie author who is incredibly kind and generous, and I’m so honored to have connected with her and given the opportunity to read her work for free.
