Kit has been in love with Riley for years. Years! Even before that incident at Riley’s parents’ cabin during their shared heat. Does it truly matter that he’s his best friend? Or that he’s an Omega? The world seems to be against him. Kit had given up all hope of Riley ever feeling the same way. When Riley’s parents kick him out for refusing every Alpha they threw his way, everything changes. Kit’s bright idea to get the let’s become cam-boys! Insert heavy sigh here. What could possibly go wrong? I have this feeling that Riley just isn’t that type of Omega, but what do I know? Will there be sparks? And hopefully not the kind that set the house on fire? Will Riley finally accept what his wolf instincts have been trying to tell him all along? I guess we’ll see what happens behind the scenes.
For fans of MM, Omegaverse, Omega x Omega, MPreg, and just a whole bunch of crazy spice.
Each book in this series can be read as a standalone. Warning content inside front of book.
This book was so good! mixed signals is an omegaverse about 2 omegas who adore each other. But while 1 omega is all In the other is stuck feeling like he needs to be a traditional omega. Top it off with a set of parents that want to pick the "best" alpha for him.
Kit and Riley are so cute! along with 2 cute omegas you will find lots of angst, sexy times and a HEA. This was a short quick read and I really enjoyed it.
Here we go again lol. I've arc read for Jennifer Carter before, and here we are again. She is a wonderful author, and I'm always happy to dig into her books.
This book is, first off, an MM romance, and that is honestly something that sold me in the moment there. I love that she not only includes triggers in the beginning of the book, but she also gives a little rundown on the Omega verse. I know some of it, but I do not consider myself an expert in it, so I greatly appreciated this as not every Omega verse is the same, so a refresher was always good. Now, let's get into the main details, the actual review of the book itself.
I'm giving the book 4.5 stars. I love the world, the story, the characters. Though it is not a full 5-star because of the fact that it leaves you wanting more. It leaves what-ifs and could have been long. It doesn't take away from the book; there are no plot holes. The story is short, simple, and does give closure to Kit and Riley. I just personally wanted more and wasn't ready to say goodbye to Kit and Riley just yet.
The book gets right down to the dirty details from the very, very beginning. There is nothing slow behind it. Kit has feelings for Riley, and there is no slow lane for it. The story is about finally getting through the process and beginning the life they were truly meant for. I found myself truly invested in the story, not just for the story and the characters but because of the personal connection I felt towards Kit.
The story was great. I loved Kit and Riley as a couple. I did find myself asking the what if when Ronan was introduced. Was this going to become /one/ of those types of books? Don't get me wrong, I liked Ronan as a character, and I'm thrilled that the next instalment of the series will focus on Ronan. There were times it made me feel like I was back in the Rina Kent universe with her series that could be read as standalones. Which brought me joy.
