Hurdler, Aileen Nessa surprised the university track and field world by signing with a small Division One NCAA university. Talented on the track and in the class room, she is headed to the University of Gatica. No one knows that the main reason she signed with the school is because of a top defensive back football player.
Away from her small Ohio hometown, she steps into a university town dedicated to sports and success. Trying to adjust to school life as a varsity athlete she learns there are perks and challenges because of her status.
Tyler Jensen, the boy she desperately wants to catch the attention of, seems to have forgotten all about what happened on Aileen’s recruiting trip last February. Devastated she throws her frustration into the only thing she knows – track.
Will pushing everything to the limit create the fulfillment she so desperately wants, or will everything come crashing down before she reaches the first hurdle?
* This is NOT erotica* It is a new adult & college sport romance.
Faster begins with Aileen going to College. She picked the school no one thought she would, and she did it over a boy she met who she hadn't spoken to in months. She wasn't at all sure how things would go when she saw him again, but she couldn't seem to get away from him. But when things aren't looking so great she goes heavy into her track schedule, and school work. But what if not everything is as it seems?
This one wasn't really that great in my opinion. I sort of hated the way it ended. And I felt like the next book isn't even about these two main characters, and this one leaves us with lots and lots of questions, and frustration. I also felt like there wasn't a whole lot substance, but the story had a whole lot of potential. And overall I did like the characters and the idea of the story, but it just didn't do it for me.
It was a good piece of writing and entertaining, but... I just couldn't give it a 5 star rating because 85% of the book was spent with Aileen and Tyler completely separated and longing for each other. They didn't get their act straight until the last 30pages and then it was a rushed deal and the book ended. I was left wanting to see them get into a real relationship and interact with each other during the rest of their academic year and competing seasons together. And the worst part is that the next book in the series is about Jani and some dude name Carter - which we briefly met at the end of this book. We, or at least I did, kept wanting a deeper relationship to develop between Aileen and Tyler, kept wanting to see them grow together and for everyone to see how perfect they are for each other, but the author never delivered.
Again, it was still a good, fast paced, entertaining and well written book, but I, personally, was still left wanting more for these two perfect for each other souls.
I like the idea behind this whole book series. it was refreshing to see an author wanting to write for this age group with a book that doesn't revolve around the main character having sex 24/7. I was disappointed to see this story was just so short. i was hoping that this book would go into more then just the first few days at college.....it barley started to rekindle the relationship between the main characters before it was over......i really wish the story would have progressed farther i loved the characters and the idea of both of them being college athletes i think its a fantastic story but it needs more. it felt more like an excerpt from a book then an actual book itself.
I dont know... there's not much to say, each book seems to be a hook up between the two main characters not much has really progressed emotionally, i usually love Lexy Timms stories... this one falls a bit for me, though i may pick up book 3 if i need to read a sport Romance for a challenge until then im in no rush.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audio book of this title from within the series set box. (Audible.com)
There's a weird period of time when someone you have met previously comes back into your life. Have they changed? Have you changed? Do you both feel the same as before?
Could have been one book with The recruiting trip and even then would have felt half finished. The plot is interesting and the story enjoyable ,but is way to short and feels rushed.
I liked the premise behind this series..showing what young athletes go thru and the pressures they face. But I felt, as soon as I got into the story and things starting heating up between Aileen and Tyler again, the book ends...major cliffhanger...and apparently I have to wait until books 5 & 6 to see how things progress between these two. :o(
Didn't like how this one finished, should have combined book one and two and have them their own longer story. The next one isn't even about them, and we're left hanging.
this book series has me addicted.the first book in the series is called The Recruiting Trip. do not read this review if you have not read the first book. this book is a fast read. Another thing i love about this series is that it picks up where the last book leaves off. i love when squeals pick up exactly where they left off. in this book she is just starting college and she is in pre-track season. there is action around every corner. the guys in this book will make you swoon. the romance and the drama between the two charterers is very entertaining. i love how the author make you fell like you are in the story with the characters. this book also left you with a major jaw-dropper. i was so mad at the end i screamed. you just want to know what happens. i can not what till the next book comes out.
Faster picked up right where Recruiting Trip left off. Aileen chose to come and run for Gatica University. She moves in with Jani, another girl on the team. School and practices begin and Aileen is hurt that Tyler has yet to reach out to her at all. Almost ignoring her. Did she read the signs wrong? Was she just a fling for him? This was a short read, but I enjoy all the characters. The story was face paced and moved right along. I can not wait for what happens next. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys stories about realistic sports and love in college.
Loved this book a lot I couldn't wait to see Aileen and Tyler hoping they would get together and I was not disappointed I love Jani and need more about Tyler and Aileen tell me your writing more about them it can't be the end looking forward to reading about Jani and Carter as well but I'm in love with Tyler and Aileen please hurry :)
The is the second book in Aileen and Tyler's story. Aileen let her feelings for Tyler dictate the college she attended only the get there and find things different than she thought. She pours her heart into workouts and school only to find the situation is not at all what it seems. The only problem with this story is that it seems unfinished and even leaves you wanting more. Enjoyable read.
I really liked this book and I read it in less then a day. I was a little frustrated at the beginning of the book when Aileen and Tyler barely associated with each other. But the author made up for it when he came to her window and they had their little fights and their compassion for each other but we all know that their relationship won't end well in the end.
Faster is the second book in the University of Gatica series by Lexy Timms. I absolutely loved this book but I hate the cliffhanger at the end!!! The storyline was solid and well thought out. The characters were well developed and had amazing chemistry. All in all I am loving this series and can't wait for more.
I like the first book. I wanted more for Aileen and Tyler. I can't even go on because the third and fourth book are about different people which is cool but a finalized book of Aileen and Tyler. 3.5 stars from me.
It was a great story but I feel like we were only half way through. The two main characters barely get a chance to meet. I was hoping more but bk 3 was about Jani so am a little disappointed that was it.
