Daddy's Atonement

Rate this book
All her life she’d been trapped in a cage . . .
Some of them were better than others, but that didn’t matter when all she dreamed of was freedom.
However, dreams weren’t for people like her.
Angie only had nightmares.
People either abused or abandoned her.
Which is why she wasn’t going to believe the promises from a crime lord.
A Bartolli had ruined her life once. She couldn’t let that happen again.
No matter how sexy and protective he was.
Or now seductive and possessive his sub could be.
They would just have to find another girl to be Jared’s Little and North’s plaything, to love them.
Because love wasn’t for girls like her.

Please This book contains a super hot crime boss who is definitely in charge. Although his sub might try to argue that point. And both of them want our heroine as well as each other.

Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.

In true Laylah style,Daddy’s Atonement is a story that gives you all the feels.
It has it’s sad moments because of the backgrounds of the characters.
It has it’s moments of suspense because of unknown threats to the characters.
It has it’s moments where you can laugh because of the silly things they say and do sometimes.
It has it’s moments where you need a moment to cool down when they get close and personal…
And when everyone finds their happy after, you get to feel so very good!

Angie may have had an awful life, but once her “husband” Fergus Bartolli, the man her father had sold her to,had died, she was free.
And it may have taken her a while to find a place to stay, but lucky for her,a familiar friend gave her a push in the right direction.
If only she didn't feel so lonely...even while being with people that cared.
If only she could have what her sister Keira had....
Jared Bartolli may have had an awful life while his father was still alive, but once he was dead,he could finally live the way he wanted to.
He may have felt something was missing, but he had North, the man that saved his life years ago,and had most of his heart today.
Losing people he'd cared about hurt, but they were on the hunt for the one responsible for their deaths.
North may have had an awful life as an orphan.but after he was picked up from the streets, and placed with a family, his life started to look better. Saving Jared's life changed him, and he was the man that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
But he also knew the man needed more than an emotionally stunted man like him.
And once he made up his mind,he tracked down the person he knew could fill the gap.
He knew Angie would be capable of making Jared happy after he left…..because it started to look like he wouldn't be able to stay after all.

These three had a long journey ahead of them to find the happy after they deserved.
The secrets were deep and painful, but once they were out in the open, they managed to clear the air, leaving only brightness ahead.
The threat to their lives was real and possibly desastrous, but they were smart and had help in finding the person responsible.
So,once they were past everything that stood in their way, they could take a deep breath and enjoy that happy after.
Loved every second of this wonderful beauty!!

Daddy Atonement is a deeply emotional and compelling story, written in a way that makes it easy to connect with the characters’ hearts, hopes, and fears. The length is perfect, allowing both the characters and plot to develop fully. That said, this story is darker than what I'm used to from Ms. Roberts and may be triggering for some readers. This isn’t just one person’s journey of escaping their demons, it’s the story of three deeply damaged individuals who, against all odds, overcome years of emotional turmoil and abuse to form a relationship, unique as it may be.

The dynamic between Angie, Jared, and North is anything but conventional. Jared is the Daddy figure, North walks the line between sub and top, and Angie embraces her little side. Their chemistry is chaotic, raw and fragile, yet also tender, with an intimacy that underscores their emotional instability. It’s hard to say whose childhood was the most tragic. Angie’s father sold her to the cruel Fergus Bartolli, leaving her deeply scarred. Jared grew up under the shadow of his father’s unpredictable cruelty, blaming himself for things beyond his control. North, an orphan, was trained from a young age to be used as a weapon. Each of them carries heavy trauma, and watching them navigate a ménage relationship while burdened with such baggage is both painful and captivating.

Angie’s journey is especially heartbreaking, sold into a brutal marriage, later freed by North after her husband’s death, helped by the Fox, reunited with her sister, and then kidnapped again. It’s no wonder she became emotionally shut down. Yet, with patience and encouragement, she begins to bloom. I loved her humor, her quirky nicknames for North, and her ability to see through his hardened exterior.

North is far more complex than he first appears. Officially Jared’s sub, he is layered, mysterious, and morally ambiguous . His logic is often twisted, reflecting his upbringing, and his feelings for Angie both confuse and challenge him. Watching her slowly work her way into his heart was fascinating.

Then there’s Jared, a crime boss weighed down by guilt from his past. While far from a model citizen, he is nothing like his father. Dangerous and commanding, yet deeply protective, he’s the kind of anti-hero that’s impossible not to love. I especially appreciated how he supported Angie in embracing her little side while also caring fiercely for both her and North.

This book is electrifying and intense, filled with danger, emotional tension, complex character development, and fiery chemistry. The sense of anticipation and creativity woven into the storyline kept me hooked from beginning to end. And of course, no story in this series would feel complete without the presence of the Fox.

First let me say this book combined MontanaDaddy’s , MC Daddy’s and Crime Boss Daddy’s so we see some old friends, which was wonderful. Jared and North are off the charts with the sizzle!! Jared is remarkably sane for growing up and groomed by a megalomaniac, he is a perfect blend of stern possessiveness and gentle caring, which makes him a great Dom. North reminded me of the Fox with his persona and skill level. Also thinking he himself had no feelings ( not true,) but he soon learns he was wrong and surprise we get to spend time with the Fox.Angie was sold by her father to Fergus Bartolli, who then married her and continually abused her both physically and sexually sometimes in private, and sometimes with spectators when she escaped, she swore she would never go back. When the three come together it just all seems to work out wonderfully ,throw in a whole lot of ups and downs, which made it such a great book.this book did contain some dark overtones

Perfection!

From beginning to end this story kept me enraptured! It has it all! Mystery, intrigue, action, lust and love! Jared is a Mafia Kingpin who has had to watch his every step because of his awful father. When he meets his father’s wife, Angie, he knows all is not as it seems. So when the time comes and she is free from the horrors of his father, he wants to set her off to start a new life. But North, his second in command and his lover has a different idea. When he brings Angie back to Jared’s life, these three took me on such a wild ride, I never wanted it to end. Angie is a sweet and sassy young woman/Little girl who keeps them both on their toes throughout. North is described as a bit unfeeling and standoffish, but when it comes to Jared and Angie, he discovers true feelings for them. Jared may act all tough, but when it comes to Angie and North, his heart is all theirs. This story takes you on their incredible journey and I loved every minute of it. So many things go on in this story that made my head spin, but that’s what made it such a perfect story! A definite must read for all!

Everything I’ve been waiting for!

I have been patiently waiting to read Jared’s book since we first learned of him in Tabby and Razor’s book (Fierce Daddy - MC Daddies Book 6), and I was NOT disappointed!

The depth of Jared’s love and protection for the select few people he cares about is very heartwarming for a mafia kingpin lol. More than that, though, we get to see him work through his own insecurities from the past to forgive himself and believe he deserves the love of North and Angie.

And of course, we have some scenes with beloved characters which always makes my heart happy. It’s a definite must read for me, like any of Laylah’s books!

Angie and Jared have been in the background of several of Laylah's prior books (love how her books/series all connect) so I'm glad we finally got their story.

With Angie's past this one was a lot heavier and darker than Laylah's other books IMO, but thats not a bad thing! Given Jared and North are "bad guys" it's to be expected.

But under all that dark and heavy was relationship and personal growth, and over time true love and devotion.

Our friend The Fox does make a cameo which is always a blast...and we connect again with Zander's team (boy, Honey's story is gonna be a hoot!)

*there is some graphic on page..."post-violence"...that was jarring for me, I did say this was darker than a normal Laylah. No spoilers just a caution*

I loved it!😍

So glad to be reading about this connected group, and having The Fox pop in several times. Jared and North had a serious dynamic, and adding Angie, who barely survived being sold and married to Jared's sadistic Father. Years of abuse, from him, and his friends had her covered in deep scars, and deeper mental scars. Twists and turns in this story had hints from other survivors of a Cult, being consulted for answers. This threesome have a long, complicated, and sometimes heartfelt need to get over some traumas from their pasts, so they can heal each other. Beautiful HEA ending. Trish. A.

This felt like a proper return to what originally drew me into Laylah's books. We have a young woman who is definitely down on her luck, who finds a way out of a bad situation, and then once things are beginning to look better finds herself being thrust back into the world she originally escaped. Only things aren't quite the same. Then we have Jared who wants desperately to be and do better than his father, who has done what he can to both maintain his standing but also become less unsavory. Then there is North who lets face it could give Zander Fox and O a run for their money. This was sweet and funny but also heartbreaking and suspenseful. The trauma healing in this was everything. The banter between Angie and North top tier, like watching two siblings bicker about whose turn it is for the tv. I absolutely adored this book and can't wait for the next!

Worth sticking with

This was a strange one. Took a while to feel synergy with the male characters. Very cleverly done but could feel the character change in Jared pre and post the incident (no spoilers). Found it hard to get into this book but hung in there and it was worth it.

Liked the amalgamation of a few of Laylah’s worlds, always fun to meet The Fox again.

Good plot twists, it’s like the book that never stops giving.

Wow…. I just finished Daddy’s Atonement and it was one of the best of all of Laylah’s books. I read often and a lot. I read fast. I consumed the Haven series and New Orleans Malones series within the last week, MC Daddies the week before that. I have my favorites, but this book? This book tore my heart out. I laughed, I actually cried. A lot. More than with the other books. Angie. Sweet, darling, Angie. What a survivor. And North. He is one of the most complex and endearing characters ever written. The relationship between Angie, North and Jared is of the most beautiful within this world, rivaling that of the Fox and his babies. I do so hope to see them later in other books and novellas, especially with the Fox family. Goodness, Laylah, just when I think I’ve read the best of your stories, or that I couldn’t love any of your characters more, you go and shock us all with another work of brilliance.

Oh man! Jared, North and Angie go through a lot before they come to their HEA. Abuse, neglect, torment, torture, depravation - all of this shapes their perceptions and attitudes and actions. Even when they think things are going in the right direction something comes that tears apart their security and makes them question their reality.

This series holds a special place in my reading list. As soon as a new book comes out, I immediately download it. While the last book wasn't my favorite, this one definitely is a favorite! I loved Jared and North's relationship, and I really liked how Angie brought out a new side to North. Of course, seeing Fox is always a treat! He was kinda scary in this book lol but you have to remember that if he's not dealing with a Little, he doesn't really care about anyone else.

This does have lots of scenes where they are working through Angie's trauma, and they have to approach certain things carefully with her. I really appreciated how they'd watch her face and reactions while they were playing to be sure she alright. They also checked in with her throughout.

Another great one for this series. Thank you, Laylah Roberts 🙌🫶❤️

Fantastic Story

Daddy’s Atonement is another read by Laylah Roberts. The story is away of showing that no matter what you endured in your past life there is a brighter future for you. Three broken souls pulled together to find love and healing. Overcoming trust issues, feeling loved, belonging, wanted and so much more. And the fact that The Fox made an appearance was just what this story truly needed.

Captive to happy days

A mix up and accidentally getting herself kidnapped and the amount of sass against a well meaning but logical North. Love watching the characters meld and grow. Loved this book couldn’t put it down !

This reminded me of why I don’t like a lot of MMF books.

50% of the book full of only MM, their relationship and devotion and a lot of MM sex scenes. While we only see the heroine alone or feeling lonely and she’s only with them romantically/sexually/ considering a relationship after half of the book. It feels like this is a book about north and Jared, and Angie ended up being a part of it.

Angie had been sold by her father to pay his debt into a marriage in hell, Fergus Bartolli a brutal mafia man
Angie had been barely eighteen years old when she had been sold off to the head of the Bartolli family, he was an abusive husband that had locked her into room for god knows how long because she had dared to try and run away. He had insisted on marrying her and then had abused her just for the fun of it o because something had annoyed her, Fergus thrived on pain and causing terror.
Then one day she had met her husband’s son Jared and he had scared her to death but then completely of the blue had actually visited her in her room to speak with her about Fergus but she could trust no one in that house. The following day she had arrived in her room and discovered a selection of the latest romance novels and also North a man that also scarred her.
Then one day her nightmare is killed and Fergus is found dead and this means that his son will be returning to take over and run the family business, she does the only thing she can she runs and leaves behind her only friend Wally. She was approached by The Fox who had helped her to escape from the enclosure and he had helped her to find her sister and the people she considered family; they had all helped her and cared for her over the last two years.
Then it seemed that Jared had never forgotten the woman that he had met only twice and had still had the backbone to give him some lip and this had made her stay in his mind so when he returned and discovered that Angie had disappeared, he had found it impossible to forget her, he had found her toy whale and had wondered where she was.
I guarantee that readers will be totally captivated by the three main characters in this book, the interaction between Jared and North and Angie is something that has been borne from difficult circumstances and yet it seems that it may actually be fulfilling a need they have.
I guarantee that readers will find this to be an impossible book to put down once you begin reading and that you will be captivated by the characters and the plot, you will be completely riveted by this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This story had so many unknowns until the end and they were not what I was expecting but they explained so much. North and Angie both had awful childhoods and Jared’s was different but the effect was the same. Coming together was perfect for all of them. This is a story full of emotions, sadness at the way children are treated and anger too. Then there are the interactions between the three of them, besides being very hot and at times very profound, there is a lightness to their banter and dry sense of humour. There are so many other characters involved in this story it is like old home week. It’s not all plain sailing for these three but they get their in the end with a little help from their friends.

Another fantastic installment in the Crime Boss Daddies series! Honestly, who would settle for one mafia crime boss when you can have two? That’s exactly what Angie gets. She hasn’t lived a good life and trusting people doesn’t come easy to her. More than anything, she just wants her freedom and to feel safe.

North and Jared are gruff, morally gray men…definitely not the “good guys.” But what they are is fiercely possessive and protective, especially when it comes to Angie.

This book delivers on everything: suspense, secrets, why choose romance, forced proximity, and plenty of spice. If you love intense, protective heroes and high-stakes romance, this one is a must read.

I loved everything about this story. The writing was so descriptive that I could imagine the events as they took place. I absolutely loved the banter between Angie and North, it was hilarious at times and North’s dry sense of humor could be so funny. One particular scene I absolutely loved was with Jared tied down and North coaching Angie on how to torture him, it was so funny. The Fox is back, Yah! There are not enough words to describe the quality of writing involved but I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
