Centuries after the events of the #1 New York Times bestseller Wings of Starlight, two fairies must battle a dangerous magic—and their growing feelings for each other—in order to save their home in the Winter Woods of Pixie Hollow.
When frost fairy Periwinkle travels too close to the forbidden border where Spring meets the Winter Woods, she unknowingly discovers a thread of a lost magic. And, for the first time, she begins to dream. While Periwinkle’s dreams start sweet, they slowly morph into more disastrous visions of the Pixie Dust Tree—the life source for all of Pixie Hollow—destroyed. Soon Periwinkle is confronted by a sparrow man who knows two one, that Peri has been dreaming, and two, that the Winter Woods is in terrible danger.
The infuriatingly handsome stranger introduces himself as Weaver, claiming to be a dream-talent, the last of his kind. There's a chance he can spin Periwinkle's dreams into dream thread which could protect the Pixie Dust Tree. But to do so, they will have to embark on a quest to find a magic spindle and scissors in the legendary lost fairy workshops of dream-talents past.
Peri begins a reluctant journey with Weaver through the uncharted heart of the Winter Woods. But dreaming is dangerous, and as Peri’s dreams begin to unravel, she will start to question everything she thought she knew. For in Winter even beautiful things can hurt you… and Weaver is no exception.
Return to Pixie Hollow with this exciting new story set in the world of Wings of Starlight several hundred years in the future.
I believe in woods, mountains, highways, cobblestones, roller coasters, dancing, concerts, cherry Pop Tarts, books, and magic. When I'm not reading or writing on my couch, I'm dragging my husband off on an adventure, snuggling my new baby daughter, communing with Salem (my kitten/spiritual familiar), or causing trouble at One More Page Books, where I work.

WAIT HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS WAS COMING OUT?? PERIWINKLE REMAINS MY FAVOURITE FROM THE TINKERBELL SERIES I LOVE HER SM ND ALSO WINGS OF STARLIGHT ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED SO I HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS ONE ASW
- dream/nightmare magic - glittery winter festival - magical workshops - YEARNING - enemies to lovers - quest to save Pixie Dust Tree - grumpy x sunshine
oh my god we're getting a book about periwinkle OH MY GODS
some may have been into barbie movies, into monster high—i was raised solely on tinker bell movies and i owe it to my ten year old self to read every movie that even slightly relates to secret of the wings
I work at the Indie Bookstore, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, who received an advanced copy of this novel. I was very vocal about my enjoyment of the first novel and my history of loving the Tinkerbell movies, so a coworker knew to reserve this advanced copy for me. I am beyond thrilled that she did!
Secret of the Wings was my favorite Tinkerbell movie, not just for Queen Clarion and Lord Milori's love story, but for the wealth of fairy lore hidden just over the border of the Winter Woods. Anna Bright did a wonderful job of expanding on this lore through the talents held by the winter fairies and the traditions that hold them apart from the rest of Pixie Hollow. My favorite added detail, beyond the mechanics of the Dream Talent, was the Book Flood tradition held on the second night of the Frost Festival. For a number of years I have known about and been jealous of the Icelandic tradition of gifting books to loved ones and reading together on Christmas Eve. I assume Bright took inspiration from the Icelanders in her effort to make the Frost Festival an occasion filled with enough wonder and whimsy for the background of this novel. It was also a great way to show the difference in social standings between Periwinkel and Weaver: Periwinkle having received a mountain of books and Weaver only receiving one.
The dialogue between Periwinkle and Weaver felt organic and feisty—just how I like my romances! They played off one another well, and the tension between the two was thick enough to skate across! It felt very believable to me that these two could fall in love over the course of the week-long Frost Festival.
The characterization Bright expanded upon for Periwinkle felt authentic within the franchise and with the movie version of her character while really cementing her as a unique fairy worth exploring. In the movie Periwinkle came off as more hesitant and quiet than her twin. But Bright made it seem that Periwinkle is often more bold and curious, so perhaps her hesitation in the movie (that allowed Tinkerbell to remain the most important character overall) was the result of her being out of her element (pun intended). Speaking of Tink, it brought me much joy to pick out the subtle references to her in the beginning and end of the novel!
Now that was some absolutely whimsical fairy magic 🧚❄️
I was a bit nervous about this installment of the Wings of Pixie Hollow, because we already know so much of Periwinkle's story from Secret of the Wings, but I am so happy I picked this up.
We follow Periwinkle, before she meets Tinkerbell, as she begins to dream for the very first time—only her dreams aren’t just dreams… they’re warnings. Along the way, she meets Weaver 💜, a mysterious dream-talent fairy, and together they must stop creeping nightmares from destroying the Pixie Dust Tree and all of Pixie Hollow.
This story had adventure, action, slow-burn romance, and the faith, trust, and pixie dust that make Pixie Hollow so magical. If you need a YA book to cozy up with, this will definitely make your dreams 😉 come true
A sweet, heart-stirring, magical and delightfully adventurous YA romance set in the world of Pixie Hollow -- a world I myself had never seen or read about until I opened the pages of this book, but Anna Bright's lovely prose and vivid imagination brings it vividly to life for even readers unfamiliar with the franchise (or the first book in the series, which I also have yet to read). I thoroughly enjoyed this story!
was extremely terrified when i heard there was a wings of starlight sequel considering the physical pain and emotional torture that book put me through but to be following peri is such an interesting turn! reallt excited for this and PRAYING. genuinely on my hands and knees PLEASE. give my girl a happy ending with love 🙏🙏 can’t wait to be back with the magic!!
HOLY COVER. This is gorgeous. I hope they continue this series for forever! Maybe the next 2 could be spring, then 2 summer, then 2 autumn. With each of the ministers the first ones, then a younger fairy!
