Federico Fellini was an Italian film director and screenwriter known for his distinctive style, which blends fantasy and baroque images with earthiness. He is recognized as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time. His films have ranked highly in critical polls such as that of Cahiers du cinéma and Sight & Sound, which lists his 1963 film 8 1⁄2 as the 10th-greatest film.

Medicore book, as it consists mostly of interviews with Fellini by Costanzo Costantini and the topics covered, although mostly film related, is really not that interesting - I would say, mostly pretty shallow with some trivia etc., maybe showing a lot of the character of Fellini and in that sense this is great for his fans and in a way to honor his memory. For me it was too disjointed and unfocused.
It lacks a cohesive structure, you know? You get the feeling that he’s not absolutely sure what it is he wants to say. Of course, I’ve always felt that he was essentially a technical filmmaker. Granted, La Strada was a great film. Great in its use of negative energy more than anything else. All that Juliet of the Spirits or Satyricon, I found it incredibly indulgent, you know? He really is. He’s one of the most indulgent filmmakers.
A 30 year homage of missing disjointed conversational scene fragments from the mouth of the master of mayhem via the pen of his close friend and journalistic confidant.
