Abner and Bessy Mae share a special sort of love. A love for brutally torturing their random hapless victims and fully dismembering them until nothing remains but a pile of mangled parts and human slop. And that’s just foreplay!
These two impassioned lovers just can’t seem to get enough of the chunky red stuff. Take a trip in their boogie wagon through the backroads of Louisiana and East Texas as they seek out cheap thrills, moonshine, dope, fried frog legs, casual Cajun encounters, and more depraved sex and violence than you can shake a corncob at.
This lusty, vile tale follows a Southern-fried Bonne and Clyde as they fuck and slaughter their way through the Piney Woods of East Texas and Louisiana. It's a helluva ride, chock fulla blood, guts, cum, and squart. This is some of James Oliver's cleverest prose yet with nonstop action and filthy smut that is like filling your belly at the local grease pit. – Oscar Brady, author of Potato and Hush, Little Nightmare.
Are you in the market for something a little pointless (unburdened by plot), gleefully crass, funny, smutty in the extreme and yet, somehow, oddly charming? Oliver has you covered with this delightfully repugnant and proactively unserious tale of a kinky couple's little escapade. I'm not sure how the guy reading over my shoulder on the bus felt about his time with this book (I just hope he never feels the need to tell me about it TBH), but I had a great time.
Also, I had to ugly cackle when Oliver broke the 4th wall to give us a little , that felt very pointed considering the genre.
Oh, and the mullet love did not go unnoticed or unappreciated by this reader.
Disclosure: I was offered a review copy of this book, I did not take the offer since I've been really lazy with reviewing for the last few months as evidenced by the above review (sorry to the author for leaving him on read tho *insert something about forgetting to respond to DM being my religion or something here*), I paid for this book (preordered it in fact).
FULL BODY DISMEMBERMENT is a contender for one of the most relentlessly obscene books I have ever read; a non-stop extreme horror fuckfest served up with a Texan twang and all the trimmings.
Our heroes Bessy Mae and Abner are lewd, crude and have a bad attitude, and we follow them on a road-trip killing-spree of cornholing and dismemberment like no other!
I had the incredible privilege of reading the first draft of this novella, and take great pride in having contributed the vocabulary of a pig's penis being referred to as a "porcine pecker".
If you want to get the joke, you’ve gotta read the book.
Abner and Bessie Mae are a young couple, living and travelling in their decked out boogie van that they lovingly call Van Helsing. They spend their days carting around the deep south, killing and dismembering whomever they come across. That is, whomever refuses to join them in their revelries.
These two are literally in a constant state of being hot to trot, if you know what I mean. You could say they are addicts, and they get off on their various murderous exploits.
If you’re looking for a plot, this story was built different. It definitely lives in the extreme horror/horror comedy realm, where the raunchiness and the violence IS the point. But I will say, there are several one liners and had me straight up snort-laugh cackling for several minutes.
If you’re into non-stop raunchy smut and increasingly creative violence that doesn’t leave anything to be desired, I would recommend that you pick this up.
This was a grotesque and wild ride that brought me back to my time living in Georgia. The southern drawl and depravity that only a redneck can come up with is something special. Mr. Oliver has taken that and summed it up with one of the most absurd twists on the genre I've ever read.
This was incredible from beginning to end. It is definitely one of those books that grabs hold and never lets go. This was, dare I say, even better than Genital Rot and Sacrifical Slaughter?
A bloody and raunchy ride through the bayous of east Texas and Louisiana. Full Body Dismemberment is a tale of Abner and Bessy Mae's killing spree while driving around in their van, Van Helsing. They meet sadistic country folk, mutant backwoods inbreds, and vengeful kidnapped women on their journey. This book is filled with enough "squart" to make you gag.
If the movies Natural Born Killers and Deliverance had a baby and you added a generous helping of dark humour, you would get something like Full Body Dismemberment.
In this obscene, gorefest we follow Abner and Bessy Mae on their road trip across East Texas and Louisiana.
These two Just Can't get enough of each other and there is one thing that's guaranteed to get them off, and thats violence and gore.
I won't say more about the plot. In fact that is the plot, this book is described by the Author as Unburdened by Plot and thats one of the things I loved about it most. It just allows you to just have fun with it.
The Author's sense of humour really comes through and it is jam packed full of metaphors and one liners all written in a Southern accent that had me laughing out loud.
I have a dark and somewhat juvenile sense of humour so any book that has a motel Called 'Fat Dicks Half Way Inn' gets a yes from me.
Abner and Bessy Mae were great Characters, don't know if anyone remembers Natural Born killers, but they gave me Micky and Mallory Knox Vibes, love that.
If a relentless Extreme Horror/ Comedy that is pure filth sounds like your thing, you needn't look any further.
Moral of the Story - Stay away from dodgy Moonshine.
HAPPY RELEASE DAY!! I was so excited to get this ARC, I know with all of Oliver’s books that it’s a squeamish & relentless ride & this time I was ready for it!!
Bessy Mae & Abner are your hillbilly version of Bonnie & Clyde. Absolutely besotted with each other, they love to do everything together…including but not limited to torturing anyone who’s in their path! They get off on it, it’s a form of foreplay for them (if you will 🤭)
They wreak havoc every moment of every single day, sometimes bringing/ kidnapping others along for the ride. The things these guys get upto are eye watering, brutal, gagging but a tad funny at times too 😅
This was a relentless ride but my god did I enjoy it! They’re little psychotic horndogs 🤣 Bessy Mae would 100% be bestfriends with baby 😅 Every single page had something that made me laugh out loud whilst inevitably gagging at the same time 🤢
Also how unreal is this cover!! I love it!!
Released today, so makesure you grab your copy!! But do check your triggers, it isn’t for the faint hearted!! Thank you James for the ARC 🤎
Abner and Bessy Mae have a special kind of love. They're just like Bonnie and Clyde...sorta. Not only do they love sex, they love blood and gore just as much. They're on a road trip in their van named Van Helsing and they're leaving a thick trail of blood. They make several stops, visit old friends, meet new people, and kill for fun. This is a love story you won't be able to turn away from.
What a blast this was! This was disgusting, bloody, hilarious, and a hell of a time. The kills were unique and so bloody. Oliver's humour is perfection! He has a craft for making even the nastiest scenes super hilarious. The characters were extremely likeable and all hilarious. I did appreciate the Mr. Durty shout out! I am a Durty fan! I'll also never play chicken in the barn, ever. Oliver is such a fun author and I hope this isn't the end of Abner and Bessy Mae! Highly recommend this one!
This is like if ‘Natural Born Killers’ Mickey and Mallory made a bastard baby with Baby from ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ in a moonshine and spunk filled jacuzzi whilst wearing leather face’s skin mask after taking a wrong turn in West Virginia but they’re actually in Texas and everyone talks real stupid.
‘Twas a real southern fried nipple of a good time with some jaw and IQ dropping dialog. That said, read it in one sitting…4⭐️. Thanks for the trauma and nausea.
Full Body Dismemberment by James Oliver is an extreme horror comedy with a heavy helping of smut! Abner and Bessie Mae love each other as much as they love murdering and getting frisky! They’re each other’s Ride or Die. I honestly enjoyed this book so much. It was gory and deranged (in the best ways). I liked the way that the narrator also had a deep southern accent throughout the book. I feel like that made the book even more comedic and interesting to read. I also like how James spelled out the way he wanted the words to sound when the characters are speaking. That gave their dialogue depth. Speaking of dialogue, I loved all of the different metaphors and different phrases that were used.
This was my first book by James Oliver and it won’t be my last. I really enjoyed James’s writing style. I definitely recommend this book if you like extreme horror books and want to read something with a little more comedy and a lot more smut than the usual extreme horror books, but still doesn’t lack the gory stuff we all love!
