“Was she worth it?” I asked. A look of guilt crossed his face as he snapped his eyes back to his son. “I knew you screwed the town girls. I just thought I was more important, or at least our child was more important”
Daisy has been abandoned by her Ares Rider husband, Blaze, for the last time. He was too busy "having fun" when she was having pregnancy complications. Luckily the President of the Ares Riders sends a prospect to help her. When the result is a dead baby, Daisy leaves. No goodbye, No waiting for an apology that wasn't meant.
For four years she builds herself a new life, until a piece of the past comes to visit and she returns home. Waiting for her at home is a dying father who has still not grown up, a delusional mother who can't let go of Daisy's marriage, and Blaze, who believes that forgiveness is easy to obtain. But too many things have changed, including a little boy who calls Blaze 'Dad', and the young prospect who has grown up to be Vice president of the Ares Riders and wears the road name of Midwife proudly.
This is a story of a woman who ran away to find happiness, and found more when she came back. How love is earned, and jewelry fixes nothing.
Nicola Jayne!!! Take note, here is an entertaining cheating MC book where the h isn't TSTL and doesn't cave to the cheating a$$, or family pressure to take him back. The h actually ends up with a better man!! See, it can be done. I'm still convinced that Nicola is really Nicholas and that's why the heroine's are stupid and suffer so much in her or his MC books . just saying....
I first read this on Wattpad and loved it. And as soon as I knew it was being published. What a ride of a story. I loved every second of it, even reading it a second time. Love Daisy and Jim (midwife) together. He owned his name and earned it. What an amazing man he is. Im looking forward to reading the others in the series. The only thing that got me in the novel is that it doesn't state the ages of Daisy and Jim.
This story was okay on Wattpad and still okay here. It’s dramatic, sometimes outrageous, but not terrible. It leans heavily into betrayal and cheating, and the FMC eventually finds a much better partner. It’s long and definitely over-the-top at times.
The book deals with very heavy subjects: emotional abuse, miscarriage, stillbirth, child loss, toxic family dynamics, chronic infidelity, and divorce.
Daisy, the FMC, is married to Blaze, a young MC member who has been unfaithful for their entire marriage. She constantly finds evidence of his behavior (condoms), and it’s clear he didn’t value their relationship from the start. Blaze on the other hand thinks he's not really cheating or betraying Daisy because it's part of the club life and he ALWAYS comes home to Daisy because that's who he loves. (Rolling my eyes)
Her entire family is tied to the MC, they even lived and grew up on the club's property. Her father, Matchstick, has a long history of cheating and covering it up with gifts (jewelry), which becomes the “normal” relationship model Daisy grows up with. Her parents favor Blaze over their own daughter and even encourage Daisy to accept the same treatment her mother does. Matchstick practically teaches Blaze that this behavior is acceptable.
Ironically, Blaze's parents (also in the MC) do NOT believe in cheating like this and they treat Daisy better than her own parents do.
To make matters worse, Daisy’s relationship with Blaze began under pressure. He pursued her aggressively when she was a teen, and her father punished (hit) her when she didn’t want to date him. She was raised to believe this was just how MC life works, so she never learned what a healthy relationship looked like. Her mother and her father love Blaze more than they love their own daughter. In fact Matchstick (her father) was Blaze's mentor in both firefighting and in the MC.
At the start of the book, Daisy is 24 weeks pregnant and faces a medical emergency. Blaze ignores her repeated calls because he's too busy fucking other women, and another club member finally sends help. A prospect named Jim rushes her to the hospital and stays with her during the traumatic loss of her baby. Jim becomes the emotional support she desperately needed.
Blaze eventually shows up but offers little genuine comfort, showing how deeply disconnected he is from Daisy’s pain. He shows up reeking of pussy, booze and perfume and promises her they can have another baby.
After recovering for a week, Daisy asks the club to help her leave for a while—instead she disappears for four years. During that time, she puts herself through school and becomes a nurse, rebuilding her life alone.
Daisy runs into club members by chance and learns her father is dying. Back home, she reconnects with Jim—now nicknamed Midwife because of how he helped her years ago. She also runs into Blaze, who doesn’t recognize her at first, showing just how little attention he ever paid to her as a person. In fact he tries to hit on Daisy when he first sees her, then later (in a crowded dark bar) he fingers then almost fucks another woman in front of her because he doesn't see her sitting at the table watching.
Like his behavior wasn't bad enough, Daisy also learns Blaze is now a single parent to a 3 year old son Dylan who was conceived the same night Daisy lost her baby! The child’s mother passed away, and Blaze struggles with parenting, leaving most of the responsibility to others. His lack of awareness and accountability continues to be astounding.
The rest of the story focuses on Daisy and Midwife growing closer. He’s steady, patient, respectful, and has cared about her since the night he helped save her life. He is everything Blaze isn’t. He calls Daisy his Queen and says he hasn't been with anyone else since the first night he saw Daisy.
Blaze tries to “win” Daisy back, but he genuinely cannot understand why she considers his actions wrong. He sees his behavior as normal because that’s what her own father modeled. He’s incredibly oblivious and frustrating and I felt like half the chapters with his POV could have been eliminated.
At Matchstick’s funeral, it’s revealed that he fathered a child outside his marriage—another example of the toxic family culture Daisy grew up in. The truth is messy and dramatic, fitting with the tone of the book. Even better, she's the same woman Blaze almost/started to have sex with in the bar in front of Daisy. Even grosser, not only is she Daisy's half sister but Blaze's cousin. Yup, the author gave us a sexual scene of him doing sexual things with his cousin.
Daisy eventually divorces Blaze, who still doesn’t understand why she’s leaving him. In his mind, the bare minimum he offered should have been enough. He leaves his son behind.
Daisy also writes off her toxic mother.
Daisy and Midwife later marry with full club support and have a healthy baby girl. Blaze, finally realizing how toxic his upbringing and role models were, leaves the club entirely. He drifts into another MC group with even worse values, slowly beginning to understand the consequences of his choices.
(For the record, I read his redemption story next. It wasn’t bad, but he was written so clueless and awful in this book that the redemption never fully landed for me.)

Actually 4.5 stars but we can't do half stars here. I read this back when it was on Wattpad and loved it. So when the author let people know she rewrote it, smoothed out the plot, added more details, more chapters, of course I HAD to get this. And I'm so glad I did.
OK if you like loads of drama and angst ( especially in the beginning) then youll like this motocycle club romance. The clueless other mN ( former husband of heroine) was way over the top clueless and the hero was way over the top too perfect and just head over heels in love with heroine from the get go. Both these scenarios led me to suspend reality while reading this. However the heroine so solidly written in reality (and goes through done tough shizz such as losing a baby and dealing with a husband that is a chronic cheater).
This is very well done. The MFC is Daisy, and we immediately know that her husband is getting busy with another woman while she is being raced to the hospital. And it’s serious enough that she loses her baby. Had her husband gone home when she called him, the baby would have had a better chance. And instead a prospect named Jim is sent to take her to the hospital.
She leaves the husband and puts herself through school, getting a nursing degree. Four years later, she runs into a couple from her past life, and they tell her that her father is very sick. So she goes home to see him.
The husband is TSTL. Or delusional. Hard to tell…
KU read, and more books are definitely coming. The next one is supposed to be about the husband finally growing up and understanding what commitment actually means. This guy is a cheater. A serial cheater to boot. I’m not interested in reading about him, but there are other MC members I’ll enjoy reading about.
Oh my goodness Blaze was the most clueless and selfish person. I was swoon over Midwife he was definitely the better man. Daisy was very strong and when she put her foot down that was it.
I balked at the beginning for sure but was smiling by the end.
The story wasn't too bad. It just kind of dragged on forever, but it started out pretty dang angsty. The heroine was married to a serial cheater who didn't give a fuck about how much he gutted his wife in heartbreak every time he screwed other women, and he left her alone (despite the calls & texts begging him to come home because she was bleeding) the night she gave birth to her dead baby (he just couldn't leave his side piece's side, needing to screw her so many times that night 🙄🤮). That's right, he was a total puke. I LOVED Callie walking away from the toxic family who kept trying to get her to accept this shitty life with her shitty/cheating husband.
"He really loves you, he always comes home to you at night, that's true love..." 🙄🤮
It was so gross, even I felt like I needed a shower. I was so proud of Callie for leaving and getting a new life. A GOOD life. That is until she was called back to the toxic club to tell her daddy goodbye because he was dying, and the family and her husband kept trying to force he back into being a good wife in her marriage. 🤮 The story kind of dragged on after that. I think I would have been happy for her to just send her dad a card in the mail telling him goodbye and also this 🖕, and sending divorce papers to her shithead husband the day she walked away from her marriage. The extra bullshit she had to deal with from her husband and her parents got really old. And watching her disgusting husband still trying to screw more women in front of her while she was back, and thinking it was okay and believing she'd still come back to him after him being such a disgusting, disease ridden, piece of shit was crazy. Her slimy husband needed a LOT more of this in this story: I was happy that Callie finally got a nice dude who treated her right in the end. I did enjoy this story. I think it could have been shortened up a bit, and that would have made it even better.
I read this on Wattpad and a long time ago so sorry read for me. Honestly, I don’t remember much from the first time so I was definitely engaged throughout the whole book. Blaze is an MC member who is married to Daisy. Blaze is honestly dumb as a bag of rocks and is a cheater. Daisy doesn’t feel like she has a lot of recourse for leaving him and has pretty much been brainwashed to put up with this treatment. She’s been a part of MC her whole life since her dad is also a part of the same club. She’s told from a very early age that sleeping with other women is not cheating as long as he comes back to his old lady/wife. While Daisy is pregnant, she ends up having a still birth at 24 weeks. Blaze it’s too busy screwing someone and eventually the club president send someone else get her to the hospital and be there while she’s giving birth. After this, Daisy takes off for 4 years and comes back when she finds out her dad is sick. She also finds out blaze who she is still married to had a kid with somebody else. Her husband and her parents are absolutely delusional and constantly peer pressure her to get back with blaze, even though he’s been cheating and treating her like shit their entire relationship. I will say, I wish Daisy would have sought intensive therapy and moved down a little bit more emotionally during those four years. It seems like she needed to confront her husband and her parents before she actually tried to move on. The H2 comes back in the picture he is now the vice president of the club and his real name is midwife. Daisy’s dad eventually dies she just own her mom and divorces blaze. HEA with Daisy and midwife having a baby and getting married.
Overall I like the story.
**There is going to be a redemption book on blaze which I just don’t know that I could read. He was so so so dumb. I think he was actually missing quite a few brain cells so I don’t know how I would believe in his happily ever. Especially after he had abandoned his child.
Soft MC book. Not the typical club hanger ons with the brothers Type club that you see in a lot of MC books.
Blaze. Main H - what an immature idiot. He thought he could have sex with anyone anytime and it wasn’t cheating if he went home to his wife. Seriously ! I felt bad for him because the man he used as a role model and looked up to taught him that. He was a man whore. He couldn’t believe when she asked for divorce. He waited 4 years for her but of course sleeping with everything even almost his cousin. He was racist and too immature to raise his son properly. He never figured it out until the end even though everyone ( MC brothers included) said he was cheating .
Daisy main h. After loosing her baby she found her back bone. So glad she got the happy ending.
Midwife knew H - really liked him. He waited 4 years for her. I was a bit confused because Bull said they met 5 years before but she couldn’t remember and it wasn’t explained.
Daisy’s parents treated her like crap and loved Blaze more.
Storyline was interesting. Not sure how to rate it. So will come back to that. Writing was done well. I liked the different point of views !

Cheating = h's husband, not the H, was screwing some rando while the h had to give birth prematurely to their child who did not survive. If the husband had come to help when the h called there was a big chance the baby could have survived but the husband was more interested in nutting in some stranger than helping his wife who called begging for help.
h sees husband with OW = h gets to watch the husband chat up and penetrate a different rando in front of her...he was such a nasty POS
MC = it's there
h ends up with the H who was the prospect in the beginning that attended the stillbirth and gave the h support. H was totally gone for the h and had to jump hurdles that the husband had caused.
What a load of bs this was. I wanted to like Daisy but she was a giant hypocrite and just weak. Not to mention the author made her a nurse and while she criticized her mother for her father’s condition she also plays along with them with removing him from the hospital. The author tried hard to force the “strong woman” image but Daisy was weak and I see why Blaze was cheating on her for years. Midwife deserved a better love interest by miles.
I absolutely adored the updates since the first draft on WP. Daisy’s story is relatable and seeing her with her happy ending is everything! I loved Jim’s dedication and how much he loves her!
Poor Daisy is betrayed by the ones who should love her the most. This is definitely a great story of finding strength and happiness. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
This starts off with a heartbreaking tragedy, and concludes with someone finally seeing the light. With an HEA in the middle. Well written, easy to sink yourself into. Looking forward to more from the author.
Oh my goodness, what a ride! Loved the heroine, Blade was an absolute piece of 'work'! Honestly felt so many emotions, loved, loved midwife. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I discovered this author on Wattpad - so glad she’s now on Amazon Kindle - super talented, love this book. Love that its not a grovel with HEA with the original MMC. Our FMC knows her worth and doesn’t put up with his bad behaviour - the new MMC is perfect.
1. The book was so badly written and in terrible need of editing. I should have paid more attention to all the mistakes in the blurb. 2. The MMC was ridiculously OTT. No one could be that stupid. DNF

So unusual to read a boring MC book. Where was the angst? I love MC's with a bite, a bit of grit and lots of angst. I found this lacking in all of my MC needs.
