The number of male Terra have dwindled close to none and in order to propagate more sprouts, my sister has trapped me in this endless torment of seed extraction. I understand what she had to do, but I still harbor a deep resentment of her.
When the gates are opened to humans, one is assigned to save my life. I know her. The trees sing her praises, my hunger worsens when she is around. Every time she gets too close, I want to encase her in my arms…in my maws. The emptiness in me wants to cradle her like a prized gift, and my serpents unfurl…throbbing. Thrumming. Starving to taste her skin.
But she is no different from my sister and the humans before her. She is here to use me, too. The only difference is I want to be used by her. Just as long as she agrees to let me eat her every time she takes from me.
This story is definitely going to be for the Monster Romance readers. It's unique and well worth the read. Keep in mind, this has an ethereal style set up and a lot of what's going on will not make sense at first.
But... Man! It's a fun one! Our FMC is being offered a job and she takes it with little questions because of how desperate she is to get out from under her mother's thumb. She signs the papers and off she goes. Where she ends up is nothing she could have imagined... But somehow, she weirdly feels like she has seen this place before. Could it really have been a dream? Was HE a dream?
It's always a gamble for oddball Monster Romance, but this one was a win for sure. The story was interesting and different. The characters were unique and weird (in a good way.) It's one of those books you end up thinking about months after you read it. I'm so glad I signed up to be an ARC reader for this one!
This book has a bunch of triggers and spice. Please make sure it's for you before reading. Mental health matters.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and Iris Influencer Society and am leaving my review voluntarily.
I genuinely was NOT expecting to end up loving Eat Me Alive by K. Sparrow as much as I did… but here we are 😭🌱🐍
First things first - the grammar can be a little all over the place at times, and there were definitely moments where I didn’t fully understand the conversations between Xiaoyu and Datu. That’s honestly my only real gripe though. It didn't even remotely take away from the story for me personally.
Because this book? This book felt like a full-blown fever dream mushroom trip in the BEST possible way.
And listen… I genuinely do not think I would ever mentally recover if I read this while on any hallucinogenic (drugs are bad mmkay!) 💀 Like absolutely not. I’d be hearing COLORS. The plants would start speaking directly to me. Acid would probably send me into another dimension entirely.
But weirdly enough… that’s exactly what pulled me in. That also might be why I read it so quickly....it was like a monster romance through a plant infested kaleidoscope....Yeah, that fits.
I love a good monster romance especially when it's terrifying lol.
This book is horrific, bizarre, intense, oddly sweet, and completely nonsensical at times - yet somehow it WORKS. It feels like being dropped into another ecosystem entirely and just accepting that nothing around you is ever going to make complete sense.
I felt SO hard for our FMC. Her relationship with her mother hit way too close to home for me personally, so definitely check triggers going into this one. But watching her slowly start finding herself outside of her mother’s control was genuinely beautiful. Her mother is a hookerpotamus and absolutely sucked....and not in a good way.
And DATU… Honestly? I didn’t fully understand WHAT he even was for most of the book 💀 But his character growth was SO good. The way his relationship with Xiaoyu developed felt strange, consuming, tender, and deeply unsettling all at once. Which honestly perfectly matches the vibe of this entire book.
Also… His ahem… equipment… Yeah. IYKYK 👀🌱🌱
I loved the writing style. I loved the murder. I loved the fever-dream atmosphere. I loved how alien and consuming everything felt. I wasn’t expecting this book to hit for me the way it did, but somehow it absolutely did.
Eat Me Alive by K. Sparrow is one of those books that is difficult to describe or explain; you just have to read it.
BUT let me try my best: it’s like you did acid and found yourself in Avatar, but instead of interacting with the Na’vi… It’s the whole of Pandora that becomes alive: the plants, flowers… basically everything around you. Add in women being taken over to Esoterra for, erhem, breeding purposes and you've got yourself on hell of a ride, lol 😂
Our main characters are both complex and flawed in their own way: while Datu leads with arrogance and egomania, Xiaoyu is tormented by the heavy hand & abuse her mother raised her with.
This book, however, is not for everyone; it’s a trippy & bizarre AF ride within a unique world and one-of-a-kind characters. This story feels like you’re actively hallucinating and constantly being gaslit along with our FMC. There’s witty banter and great chemistry between the main characters, a very “hungry” and protective MMC, and interesting spicy time. I had to stop during these scenes to really understand what was going on. Also, there may or may not be two peens - wink, wink 😉
The narrative at times feels disorienting much like our narrators who at times are unreliable. But that just fits in with the fever-dream concept K. Sparrow set out to achieve. What is real & what isn’t? Did this adventure & romance really happen to Xiaoyu?
If this author writes it, I am going to read it. And I get absolutely wrecked every time. Destroyed. I think she may have outdone herself with this one…I mean we’re not talking multi POV, we’re talking multi 🍆 okay?
Admittedly, I was skeptical going into this simply because I wondered how a plant man could be anywhere near entertaining. I was so wrong. I was drawn in from the beginning, with Xiaoyu (FMC) and her mommy issues, all the way through to the end. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. This was a trip of a wild ride and I am so glad I read it!
If you like fierce FMC’s, dystopian worlds, crazy spicy scenes, and a plant man who would 💀 for her, this one is a must-read.
*thank you Kat for allowing me to read your book babies 🫶🏼
"In this instance, I am not a god. I am a worshipper."
Thank you K. Sparrow, Kate D. Pirate, and IRIS for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book felt like one big fever dream, but in a really fun way. I was hooked by the premise and all the advertised tropes right from the start. Everything sounded so interesting, and I'm a sucker for strange and erotic literature.
The world building was a bit confusing and hard to understand at times, but it gave the story a lot of personality. I hate how repetitive settings have become nowadays, so this was a nice change!
I loved getting to know Xiaoyu and Datu. It was hard not to love them and their dynamic, especially since every word that came out of Datu's mouth was so sweet, not to mention how intense (and hot) their intimacy was.
"I am nothing, but I want to be yours. Belonging to you is all that matters to me."
>
They were also very relatable, especially Xiaoyu with the little freaky thoughts she had.
"I want to bare my teeth and bite him."
"My body's a slut."
>
(TW) I also really appreciated how SA and anorexia were represented. It's sad, but important to bring awareness to these topics, even if it's through a smutty book. I do wish we talked a bit more about it, but the ending was satisfying enough when dealing with this subject matter. (End of TW)
Sometimes I felt like I was being thrown around by the plot, since things happened pretty abruptly or just didn't entirely make sense. The near-ending especially felt a bit rushed, like it was trying to wrap loose ends up quickly. Regardless, the actual ending was great, and I appreciated how things were resolved and left off.
Also, little note: this book was genuinely so funny at times. I loved the way things were described and how naturally the banter flowed. I was genuinely smirking and kicking my feet around like a suffocating fish.
Weirdly erotic monster and hallucinogen-induced writing will probably always be a favorite of mine. I had a great time reading this story, and many of these quotes will forever stay in my mind.
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤 This is a mind trip of a fever dream… and I was along for the entire ride! I went into this with an open mind after reading the synopsis and I can’t solemnly say that this is a pleasing first book of the series and I can’t wait to see how Sparrow is going to expand this world. I mean who wouldn’t want to read a little horror romance centered on a STEM fmc who is going to get it on with a plant-like monster god that can give her pleasures beyond imagination?! I was captivated and in awe the entire read.
*spoilers* Xiaoyu is tired of the same routine she’s spun herself in. Along with her mother would is adamant about receiving her due rent, acting as a real bank towards her own daughter. Her mother has a way of sinking her words based on her weight into her enough to skip meals. She has the money to pay, but instead, she would rather choose an escape. A new beginning for her away from everything. So she starts filling out job applications for out of town and some universities that are far enough away for her to start anew.
That is, until the following day when she’s offered a job that would take her away from everything. But she’s not allowed to know anything about it until after she has signed all the appropriate paperwork, including an NDA. As soon as she does, they notify her that they will come for her in the morning. She’s told not to bring much because they would be provided what they need to not harm the island they will arrive to.
Promising the lands didn’t have any animals, she doesn’t realize what she got herself into until they arrive on land where the living are plant-based gods and she may be falling for one. His name is Datu and he doesn’t speak, but somehow they are still able to communicate and understand each other. I don't want to sink too much into the storyline but this has some spicy scenes combining with a trippy plot that is truly unique.
The world building. The characters. The overall plot were all strong enough to pull me into the story for the entire ride. Sparrow didn't hold back when she said it would be like a hallucinating fever dream. I was spiralling into the plot with ease but THAT TWIST. You caught me completely off guard with that! I will be seated for the next book in the series because I need more!
Hello, hello, my girly girls. It’s review day again—yay!
You can’t imagine how excited I was to start this book; I knew I was in for something truly unique, as with all of Kate’s books. I have to say that I was shocked by how psychological the whole read was; there were so many things I didn’t expect, so many situations that left me wondering, “How did I get here?” only to leave me speechless on the very next pages.
World-building is something that I am always obsessed by. The way you’re drawn into a new world—one that’s simultaneously interconnected with the other series—is incredible. And as for the characters, what can I say? Kate has given me quite a few favorites, and Datu definitely fits right in, both literally and figuratively.
Our MMC, a god. Sacrificing his well-being for his world. I love the fact that our MMC is mute; as the saying goes, a look is worth more than a thousand words—needless to say, I was smitten in an instant by his easygoing nature and willingness to go with the flow. He knew he loved our FMC and would do anything to win her over.
Our FMC; her growth throughout the story was truly admirable. Honestly, going through everything she did and still wanting to prove her worth to everyone who doubted her is an inspiration to me.
📍Do I Recommend It?
Bestie, of course I do!
This is a book that I promise will hook you from the first page, and before you know it, you’ll already have finished it. It’s full of a new world that feels, so to speak, very natural. With an MMC willing to sacrifice himself, yet eager to beg for a bite from his FMC, an ego that just adds to the fun, and a protagonist who, despite everything, is determined to rise above herself despite the hardships life throws her way.

Tragedy doesn't choose, trauma doesn't ask questions. You either fold to the pressure or come out stronger. Rot in anger and humiliation or build a garden from it.
💭 a STEM girly whos inevitably gonna get it on with an eldritch plant monster with god-like powers?!? then add the 🇵🇭rep...oh yes pls🙌🏽 the world building was great, the characters were lovable, & the story had me feeling all the feels!! it was hard to put this book down coz it hit some topics that are very close to home. i was xiaoyu in many parts & in a way provided such a healing effect. a particular trait in a book i specifically appreciate. i was ready to get my geek on. what i wasnt prepped for was the trippy journey!! the author wasnt playing when she said its like a fever dream!! disorienting, but i was all in for the whole damm ride!! then the twist?!?😱 i didnt want it to end!! im happy for the hea but i am ready for the nxt book coz i believe the questions i have left will be answered in the next ones♥️
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If you like an off the wall spicy dark monster romance with elements of horror and sci-fi look no further because this is it.
I've seen this book described as being like a fever dream and there really couldn't be a more apt description. I feel like I've been on a drug induced Alice in Wonderland fever dream of a trip and have loved every single second. One of the weirdest books I've ever read. I devoured it in less than 24 hours .
This is a spicy monster romance with Lovecraftian - an MMC with something of a god complex that can shift his form from plant monster to void and a. FMC who has absolutely mental dreams and carries some serious baggage and childhood trauma.
I loved the world building - how it started off almost urban before switching over to this alien like island full flora and fauna with insular gigantism and plant people. It was incredibly well mapped out from it's different inhabitants down to it's air quality.
I also quite enjoyed never quite knowing whether what Xiaoyu was experiencing was real or a drug induced hallucination. I found Datu to be weirdly endearing despite his being this almost Lovecraftian plant monster void god with an insatiable appetite.
I did notice some of the phrasing seemed almost like it had been translated from another language which was sometimes a little confusing. That may well be picked up before the book is published and didn't really detract from my reading experience but was something I picked up on. Despite that it was a really entertaining, crazy and disturbing read. Exactly what you want from a dark monster romance.
THANK YOU @IRIS.INFLUENCER.SOCIETY AND @ksparrowauthor, for sending me an advanced reader copy of this book, Eat Me Alive. All opinions in relation to this review are my own.
This book was a little out of usual genres of romance that I tend to read but I found it a great read nonetheless. Please note that my review does have spoilers and does mention some of the triggers in the book. If you would prefer to read the book yourself without spoilers, I would encourage you to grab a copy of your own from Amazon from May 12.
I really appreciated the way that the FMC, Xiaoyu works her way through her difficult relationship with her mother which is greatly impacted by generational trauma as well as her mother not having her best interests at heart which assists with pushing her to have her grand adventure which results in her meeting the MMC, Datu.
The obsessive, possessive nature of Datu as both Terra form and as God of the Void is a very interesting journey as Xiaoyu works to help restore the health of the island of Esoterra and explores the length of their relationship dating back to the God of The Void visiting her in her dreams as a child, ridding her of the sexual abuse however not realising the implications of the abuse and not having a support network.
I really resonated with the section in the book where Xiaoyu realises that when she allows her fear to finally consume her, she is not at her weakest, she is at her strongest.
If you are looking for something a little different to read, I definitely think you should look at reading Eat Me Alive.
What a trip. This was completely different from anything I’ve ever read before, but that honestly made it even more fun. I went into this fully prepared to just vibe and enjoy the chaos, and somehow this book delivered on every level. Had I ever considered plants could be hot? Absolutely not. But now? Now I’m side-eyeing every houseplant wondering if it’s secretly sentient and simply choosing not to reveal its true form. And considering I have over 50 in just my main living areas, it is quite a time to imagine what their personalities would be.
The entire concept was so bizarre in the best possible way, and I loved getting pulled into the mindset of everything happening. This is one of those books where you just have to surrender to the experience and enjoy the ride. Reading this while high really elevates the experience even more because this story feels like a fever dream in the best way possible.
What surprised me most was how much emotional depth was woven into the story. There were genuinely healing lines throughout the book that added this unexpected layer of therapy and comfort that I absolutely did not expect from a monster romance. Beneath all the hunger, obsession, and absolute unhinged energy, there was so much care.
And the yearning? Top tier. The way he cared for Xiaoyu throughout her life, protected her, handled her monsters, and provided for her in ways nobody else ever had was honestly swoon-worthy. He didn’t just want her, he cherished her. The desperation, the devotion, the willingness to beg for her? Pure gold. Weird, emotional, feral gold.
Xiaoyu’s depictions on how an abusive relationship with her mother manifests into a later eating disorder is very relatable, and highlights both the awareness and the helplessness that comes in such dynamics.
The manifestations of her struggles in her dreams are extremely memorable and honestly will stick with you through the book as she goes on her journey to Esoterra, inevitably finds love through a rather terrible situation, and comes to peace with who she is and the healing that comes with overcoming adversity and cutting off toxic ties. I wish we had more in depth working moments of her knowledge in botany, and how brilliant she is, but over all, I enjoyed her as a character given the rapid changes that happen throughout the story.
The plot’s narrative and pacing become a bit confusing and disorienting once you reach the 1/3-2/3rds mark story wise and it very much does read as a fever dream. I highly recommend paying close attention to the trigger and content list at the beginning of the novel that will explain there is are Unreliable Narrators. This is important for understanding what is going on later. There are some parts that I still found confusing- but overall the ending of the book wraps up relatively neatly. If you have read other stories that intersect with this novel’s universe, it may add more context that I was missing since I was coming into it fresh.
Overall though, after reading and digesting my thoughts, I did enjoy this book! The soft vore narrative is rather light and it’s more a focus on the hunger of both characters (this does not mean it doesn’t happen. It’s still there). The male protagonist, Datu, is rather straight forward and given his inhuman natures, doesn’t necessarily have the same complexity as Xiaoyu, but does have an interesting enough conflict to keep you engaged.
If you’re looking for a new twist and an introduction to the monster romance world, this isn’t a bad place to start.

I would like to thank the author for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Xiaoyu has been having dreams – dreams of a void with teeth. When she’s hired for a job heading to another land, she takes it, knowing next to nothing about it, and ends up drugged and kidnapped, sent a place where the fauna are huge and the flora might be more alive than she could have ever guessed. But this land is dying, and Xiaoyu learns that she’s been brought there to help the people… by helping the god they keep chained up. And he’s determined to keep her.
This was an absolute fever dream you’d have while simultaneously tripping on psychedelics. I’m not sure what I read at times, and I definitely had to go back and reread parts, but I will say, it’s worth the read. Not only is it super, super spicy, but it’s also well written in terms of characters, plot, romance, and world building. I loved this book from start to finish, and the way things went and ended had me absolutely hooked. I’m a little confused by a few things that happened, but I was totally willing to suspend my disbelief and just enjoy it. Would for sure recommend this book to people who like a bit of horror with their spice, for everyone who wondered what it would be like to do the do with a plant man, and for anyone who likes the bizarre. What a trip and a half.
This story was a total fever dream. I never read any plant smut books. But now I am totally okay with it. Who knew 🤪
The overall plot was so good. At first it made me think of Jurassic Park with having to go to an island and there’s stuff living there. But instead of dinosaurs it’s plants. 🌱
I liked the FMC. I feel for her. Having to go through everything she went through growing up. It’s definitely hard. So please read the trigger warnings for this book.
Her not feeling seen also hit me hard cause I have felt like that all my life. The MMC sounded sweet in his own way. Wanting to take care of the FMC and feed her. He didn’t like it when she went hungry. So definitely his sweet side for her I loved. The spicy scenes. Wow 🤯 like I tried picturing a plant c*ck all because of the whole detail on it lol. The overall world the plant people live in sounds trippy and cool in its own way.
About close to the end of the book. I got confused on what was happening. The FMC lost her memory on the MMC and this happens after feelings grew between them. I don’t understand how the memory loss happened and why cause I thought their relationship was going good. He wasn’t going to eat her. 💁🏻♀️
The ending was nice and felt like it could potentially lead to another book. But still gave a good ending regardless.

This is a novel for anyone that immediately adds a book to their TBR when someone says the book is f’d up. It’s for those who look at the micro tropes and trigger warnings, know exactly what they’re getting into, and dive in anyway. It’s for the brave souls who look at an eldritch horror and think, “I can fix him.”
Welcome to Eat Me Alive.
This is my first book that held some tropes like soft vore, but if you’ve spent any significant time roaming the questionable corners of the internet, you’ll feel right at home. I was pleasantly surprised by the emotional depth Sparrow tucked between the pages. The book particularly nails the physical and psychological sensations of an eating disorder, and the FMC’s compulsive need to people-please was a trait I found myself deeply connecting with.
However, this book is a plant monster smut book where the FMC dreams of being eaten and an MMC that eats humans. The yearning between the two main characters adds delicious tension to the story. The spice is served hot, but please make sure you check the content warnings. If you don’t know what one of the warning words means… do a search in incognito mode.
This is an overall fun, fast-paced read that feels like a fever dream in the best way possible. If you aren't afraid of the weird stuff and love a story that balances genuine trauma with monster smut, pick this up.
I love adore this author’s writing. This is one of my first, if not the first plant romance I’ve read and it didn’t disappoint. I love the mythology and the lore behind this world and the glimpses and references from the other series. I loved the horror elements and the chemistry and relationship that Xiaoyu and Datu have. This author writes the most interesting and complex dynamics. I can’t wait to read more from this author, especially with the plant monster tropes.

Eat Me Alive by K. Sparrow was chaotic, dark, unhinged, and honestly?? I had no idea what was coming next half the time. This book fully commits to the madness and somehow makes you enjoy every toxic, messy second of it. The tension was intense, the obsession was OBSESSION, and the vibe felt like “this is probably a bad idea” the entire time… which obviously made it impossible to stop reading. If you like your dark romance a little feral, morally questionable, and emotionally damaging in the best way this one delivers. Definitely check trigger warnings before diving in because this one does not play nice.
There just comes a time where you randomly stumble upon an author by chance, and every time she has a new release I immediately toss everything in my tbr to read it first. This is one of those books!
This is one of the more emotional reads, for reasons I feel personally attached to. I connect to the FMC (idk how to spell her name huhu) in her debilitating need to please everyone around her.
This quote really sunk its claws into me
"Once again, I feel like the problem because I'm the one crying. I'm the one heart-broken. One day, I will not care so much for people who don't have the decency to respect me. One day."
and
"I know I'm strong, I just have to prove it to myself--not to anyone else."
This is not just a love story for me, it is a story where I am heard. Thank you, Kate, for writing this beautiful story of acceptance and healing. Thank you for making me feel I am not alone.

What a crazy, f*cked up adventure I just went on… I’m convinced Datu drugged me too 😂
Following Xiaoyu through this world felt like a full-on fever dream. The entire story had me questioning if what I was reading was real or if I’d somehow slipped into a dream I hadn’t woken up from yet.
Honestly, I don’t even have the words to fully explain this book…you just have to experience it for yourself.
Datu is… something else. A chaotic, weird, possibly toxic plant monster god and yet somehow, I was still rooting for him to get his HEA with Xiaoyu. Make it make sense 😅
And the spice? Absolutely unhinged. Just go in expecting anything and everything.
This book is bizarre, intense, and completely unforgettable.
If you're a fan of the Mars needs women tropes, and game for anything, then you'll like this trip. No need to leave the planet for this one. A remote island teeming with dying flora, ancient gods, and pirates. The island is similar to that of Dr. Moreau, but here the plant life are alive and their own beings. Datu is the god that oversees this isle. Xiaoyu is a botany professor. She is contacted by a strange company to help lead an expedition to save the plant life. I don't want to give too much away, this was a fun romp. I enjoyed the remote island setting, the plant love angle. The human vs God, added an additional aspect. This was a cute reality escape monster read.
Tropes and triggers: enemies/dislike to lovers, monster smut, redemption arc, gods, touch them and ☠️, dark romance,
Let me just say I was dying to read this book. Reading the blurb and then just hearing things that other people were saying about it I had to read it. I was able to advance read and boy was that grateful. The ride that you take with this book is one that I haven't ever been on before. This book isn't a book that you can really explain. When I first started reading it I was like really confused and kind of concerned and then it started getting deeper and I was like oh. Most definitely if you love Monster romances this right here is for you because this one right here will keep you thinking. It's not very often that you read a book and then sit back and think about it weeks after you read it. This is going to be what I'm going to have to buy a paperback and reread just to see if I can get through more information. Cuz my mind is absolutely blown.
If The Island of Dr. Moreau and Little Shop of Horror had a baby Eat me Alive would be that baby. This book was a very weird and sometimes confusing read. What I got from it was there's a secret island of plant people that the government knows about and they had been harvesting Datu's semen for whatever they needed it for and they were also bringing women to the island as sacrifices. They found out that Xiaoyu had some type of weird relationship with Datu and they had her tag along for him. The relationship between Datu and Xiaoyu was strange and deeply unsettling because he had been visiting her since she was a kid. We later find out that he had protected her from being abused as a child. Which her mother knew about and made Xiaoyu feel crazy about her whole life to keep Xiaoyu under control. Overall, this wasn't a horrible book just not for me.
This was interesting. I definitely struggled in some parts but I think that’s from me not paying enough attention to things happening so I missed details. This isn’t a book you can just read carelessly. You have to pay attention or you miss details and nuance. I really liked Datu and Xiaoyu’s relationship. They knew what they wanted from the start and I loved how you got glimpses into Datu’s perspective that changed the whole story but never changed his love for her. Also I need more info on the other women taken and Alani’s story really bad. I hope this ends up being an Ice Planet Barbarian situation because I fell in love with this universe. This was my honest review after receiving an ARC copy
Well I haven’t read plant smut up to this point but this book didn’t disappoint. A down on her luck botanist with a history of abuse and a terrible mother answers an online mental health questionnaire. While at lunch with her friend, she is approach about a mystery job where her skills are most needed. Oddly the contact seems to be missing a page but she passes it off as an admin issue. She is told they will be leaving the next day for a secret island. She is tranquilized and awakes on ship with other women. After a harrowing journey, she arrives on the island and the fever dream continues. Plant people, giant carnivores plants and even larger “wildlife”. This story is full of interesting twists, lots of spice and monsters. It will keep you hooked.
Let me say that nomatter how many times i prepare myself, for the mindfuck /the plot twist It isn’t enough… We’ll damn I must say you have enraptured my mind Ahaha Cause wtf I went from being in tune then I get to the middle of chapter 2 and the amount of WTF’s and huh I said is Insane Then I get to the middle of the book and if one plot twist isn’t enough Here comes another at this point I’m questioning my mind Cause how did we go from there to here to ended up being well I’m not gonna spoil it ahaha Seriously But I found comfort in my MFC 🥹 Overall im still trying to gather my mind AHAHHA
I need to sit with this for a moment..
Thank you for this for letting me Step into your abyss of a mind

5⭐️ Have you ever read a book that caught you so off guard you just have to sit and stare for a while? That’s exactly how this book made me feel. At first it seems a bit trippy but as you get further into the books you peel back to many layers of the MCs and realize they have connected on levels that can’t be described. Not only are they connected on these deep levels they also have both experienced so much pain. The author did a phenomenal job of taking us on this rollercoaster ride of things you couldn’t even imagine. She did an amazing job of connecting the dots of the breadcrumbs she sprinkled in the book and wove an amazing story of resilience!
Thank you so much to K Sparrow for the copy of this book! All thoughts and opinion are my own💜💜
I'm struggling to express my thoughts on this because it was like an out of body experience 😂
Its a dark monster romance on an isolated island filled with lovecraftian plant monsters and vulnerable women tricked into a once a lifetime opportunity to be plant food.
BUT Xiaoyu is different, her contract is different. Shes there to help save the island and if she does she can go home.
Enter Datu - gorgeous plant man with a special member (see video) and you have weird and wonderful, messy, sticky, all consuming plant monster smut.
That aside this book also has substance exploring intergenerational trauma, abuse, deforestation and bunch of other stuff my little brain can't think of because there was also a hydra 🥒
Eat Me Alive was quite literally an erotic fever dream. Going in, I had no idea it was erotica. I was expecting more horror and less smut. I really enjoyed the story and the world but honestly I could have gone without a lot of the smut. This was a fast burn and a fast read. I was left with questions about how the world worked and what happened which was a little disappointing.
The writing was somewhat disjointed to me. It would be giving proper speech and then all of a sudden throw in a very modern term or switch to modern very quickly which threw me off at times. I was really invested in understanding how Esotera worked and what was happened to the women. I had fun reading this overall.
Definitely pick this one up if you like weird girl smut and plant daddys.
