Ok listen on audible. Bit unbelievable towards the end. But unfortunately it’s let down by the narrators. Their voices just grated on me.

* Thank you to the author for a copy of this ARC

Wow! Another hit for me by this author. Another book of hers where I have no idea what is going on and everyone is crazy unreliable all the way until the last page.

I found the ending to be a little unbelievable... until the last page and was like 🤯

You get:

• Unreliable characters/narrators
• Who did it?
• Missing child
• Fast pace
• Shorter read
• Twist & turns
• Great ending

If you haven't given this author a chance, you really should!

Win Lose Or Die is all about baseball, secrets and revenge.

Gabby and Greg Rizzo seems to have it all. They live on a gorgeous neighborhood surrounded by friends. Their only son Cameron is a baseball prodigy. Everything about their life seems perfect. But, deeper and darker secrets lie beneath the surface. When they embark on a journey to an elite baseball tournament for their son, they both know this could be the end for their marriage. Both parties know they need to talk, but when Cameron goes missing all bets are off the time. Which of their secrets has come back to haunt them?

I thought this book was really good. I enjoyed the dual POV between Gabby and Greg. It really put you in their positions as you read. I feel like there was a high level of emotion and suspense that carried throughout the novel. I especially liked the almost locked-room feeling of it all.

I did feel like the end tied up with a LOT of coincidences. It didn’t all feel necessarily believable, but it was interesting and unexpected. I did not see the final twist coming which I enjoyed.

I also felt like the setting was almost an afterthought to the novel. If it’s going to be set at an old plantation style hotel, that should be more of a part of the story than it was.

Overall, I really really liked this book. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is a sports fan and enjoys thrillers.

Holy debut !! Yes yes this is a debut and it's absolutely AMAZING. This is how you do a domestic thriller 👏👏👏👏 It was highly suspenseful, mysterious, drama filled, secrets galore, unreliable characters, it had it all!

Sit down, pick up a drink and be prepared to be completely sucked in from the first page to the last, this was the perfect popcorn thriller to start my October month!! The writing will drag you in and consume you. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, I couldn't put it down. Fisher has some serious storytelling skills, I am entirely sold, anything she writes I'll read!

The plot was intricately constructed, giving you little pieces here and there. Once the twists start coming, hold on to your seat. I was shocked at how everything tied up. I just adored this one!!

If you're looking for the perfect domestic popcorn thriller to fill your October reads, don't miss you on this one !

"I can almost pretend that we don't have more issues between us than Sports Illustrated...Almost"

There are so many freaking issues between Gabby and Greg that reading Win Lose Or Die by brilliant storytelling author D.L.Fisher left me an anxiety ridden mess until the end...almost.

Gabby and Greg really need to communicate but they have more conversations in their heads than with each other. They are hoping this weekend away, watching their 13 year old son, baseball phenom Cameron, play in the finals will give them a chance to reconnect as a couple. All that hope is gone when Cameron goes missing and the list of suspects is as long as Gabby and Greg's lies to one another.

The dual POV made my head spin. Starting with Gabby, I think what a jerk Greg is to her. Then it's Greg's turn and I think woah Gabby has some serious issues. Bring in the neighbors, best friends, the ultra competitive parents of Cameron's teammates, including he's self serving coach, and my head exploded with all the twists, guilty characters, and the paranoid distrust between Gabby and Greg.

I want to tell you all the crazy things but this is one of those tension filled, edge of your seat, roller coaster twisty domestic thrillers that needs you to go in knowing as little as possible. I didn't even know who to root for, except for Cameron, as my own paranoia took over.

The writer's ability to build up the nail biting tension, will have you screaming at the wild reveals, and then quickly turning the pages as you stay up until dawn for the final inning. Which brings me to the end. The last sentence. It left me stunned and proved this author is the next up to bat for Queen of Thrillers and no doubt she wins the title.

I received a free copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Woah, domestic thriller debut! This was a page turner that kept me wondering who was the “bad” guy or the one in the wrong nearly the entire book!

We meet Gabby and Greg Rizzo, along with their son Cameron, who is a baseball prodigy on his team. They are getting ready to go to this really important baseball tournament that Cameron’s team qualified for. Right from the start, you can feel the tension and bitterness between Gabby and Greg… they are not in a good place in their marriage.

The team is staying at a remote hotel and right away, things seem off. Gabby is hoping for a chance to reconnect wit her husband, but on the first night there, Cameron goes missing! He is just gone, and Gabby and Greg have reasons to suspect everyone. This thriller will have you hanging on every word as Gabby and Greg both try to work through who would want Cam gone and why. When the police finally get involved, secrets start to come out…. Hidden pasts, jilted lovers, jealous neighbors perhaps?!

Pick up this book for domestic thriller that will have you wondering up until the very end who could possibly be the “bad” guy, who might have it out for whom, and see if Gabby or Greg could possibly be the one in the wrong in their marriage. It’s interesting to see things from both of their perspectives and you will want to know how things turn out for this little baseball family!!

WOW. This was definitely a great read for me. I FELT the suspense—my heart rate actually sped up a few times and I caught myself holding my breath now and then. Let’s just say I was FULLY invested. I thought I had the mystery solved a few times, but I didn’t…at all.

Fisher’s writing style is easy to follow. I could easily imagine the atmosphere and the characters without there being a lot of extra imagery writing. (I can’t stand too much imagery filler—it bores me). Fisher 100% nailed this! In addition, I loved the characters—Fisher did an excellent job portraying them. I felt like the primary characters were very interesting and each had their own developed personality. I enjoyed how they developed even further as the plot unfolded.

I highly recommend this book! It was fast paced with brief chapters. In addition, I never felt like I was forcing myself to continue to turn the pages, I WANTED to keep reading. I read the paperback version and I loved it—the font size and spacing between the lines was absolute perfection for me. (Readers understand the importance of this right??)

P.S. READ THE EPILOGUE There’s a final little twist, and then another twist in the very last sentence—goosebumps. (I mean wow, that last sentence.) DO NOT SKIP THE EPILOGUE

…You’ve really got to read it! I don’t want to give any spoilers so I can’t explain further.

I typically don't pick up sports themed books, but I'm glad I grabbed this one. It's more of a domestic thriller, so if you're like me and sports books aren't your thing, you won't be disappointed with this one.

This book has almost nothing to do with baseball beyond the fact the missing boy plays baseball. We spend most of this book switching back and forth between the POV of the husband and wife. There's a lot of secrets and it's clear this marriage is basically over. That's the biggest part of this whole book. They lie to each other so much.

This book was well written and it did keep me engaged, but mostly because I am nosey and like drama, and I really wanted to see how this played out. I called the big "twist" at the end, although how we got there was pretty convenient. The fact that the boy was missing was really overshadowed by the all the issues his parents were having.

This was a very quick read. I read it in one day. Fast paced and there's a lot going on in these pages. If you like a face paced domestic thriller, give this one a shot. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Parents don’t have the right to live different from the child? But why is it normal for mothers to sacrifice for their child’s future but not the father, never the father. Fathers just dream and imagine what they want from his child but the sacrifices and things mother has to do for that dream to come true is the main thing.
Loving your child more than anything is one thing but ignoring your partner in the way is the worst thing you can do to your partner. The needs of a mother as an individual is often ignored after she becomes a mother is too common in the society that if she even thinks about herself for a small amount of time it is seen as a crime.
This is the story of Grabby whose son Cam is a prodigy in the game of baseball and her husband has dreamed of nothing but his son succeeding and being the best amongst every other child. They are going for a tournament which is going to be the turning point for Cam’s baseball career but the problems in their marriage is not hidden and she wants this trip to be the turning point of their marriage as well.
Greg was a baseball player himself but an injury left him never to be able to play again and he just wants his son to be successful and reach places he never could. He loves his family but is now tired of his wife always being tired and feels her slipping away from him bit by bit. He finds a positive pregnancy test before leaving for the trip but is wary why his wife didn’t mention it to him.
Things take an unexpected turn when their son goes missing in middle of the night and no one has an idea where he went or who took him. They blame everyone and anyone because everyone was jealous of their son for being the best in the team but they don’t have any proofs of what actually happened. The police and press are involved, gabby wants them to find her ASAP but the problem is if they dig into her past the biggest secret of her past could destroy everything she made in her life.
Did the disappearance of their son planned or the ghosts from their past has come alive to destroy her present and the future? Will the past really come out at the worst time possible for her? Read and find out.

What a great domestic thriller debut full of secrets and revenge!!

So much suspense and drama with tons of unreliable characters that keeps you guessing on who you can trust.

Such a quick and easy read! I flew through this in just a day and a half! At one time I planned to just sit down and only read a few chapters and next thing I know I had read over 250 pages as I just kept turning the pages and didn’t want to put it down.

The writing style and pace were amazing. And the storytelling and character development were also great. I really enjoyed the dual POV between Gabby and Greg as well as the additions of the journal entries.

Loved the addition of the epilogue and with it ending with that last sentence!

Highly recommend reading this one!❤️

Thank you @dlfisherthrillers for the #gifted copy!🫶🏼

Okay, this was a first from this author and I was not disappointed!

If I hadn’t been so sleepy, I would’ve finished this last night. Lol

This was filled with some suspense, drama, betrayal, and twists. I did not trust ANYONE when I started this audiobook and mannnnn was I in for a treat. lol

It was definitely a book where you literally try to figure out what’s going on but it keeps you invested. Gaby has a past but so did everyone else! Suzie was too nice of a best friend for me and man was I right. 😂

And the way it ended?!! Man! Kept me wondering “What now?!!!”. I gave it a 4 because honestly Greg was such a douche and his obsession with his wife’s best friend gave me the ick. Like, excuse me?!!

Anyway! Definitely give this one a shot. I think it’s a good one and anyone would enjoy it. 😊

Anyway , This is a super fast paced , domestic thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time !!

I loved Fishers writing style , so easy to follow, short chapters and I loved the duel POV!

I did guess the big twist pretty early on - but you can never be 100% sure until the end , but I was right in this one !! I still loved it though and it was such a fun read !!
I already can’t wait to read more from her !!

Suspenseful to the end

Suspense dramas are not my typical read but I gave this one a shot and I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved it. I may have been under my covers reading on my Kindle at 3 AM because I needed to know what happened next.

There were a lot of twists and turns and I had an inkling of who could have done it but I wasn't prepared for all that unfolded in those last few chapters. I keep thinking of the last line of the book and I'm like WOW.

Another suspenseful read from DL Fisher. Gabby's son is a prodigy when it comes to baseball. He takes after his father. The family has a great relationship with their next door neighbors. Susie is Gabby's best friend as her son, Jake, is best friend to Cameron. Things really begin to happen when they arrive in Georgia for the big game. Things aren't as they seem and will the truth come to light?

What a twisty read! If you love crazy domestic thrillers, this one is for you! I enjoyed the dual POVs of Gabby & Greg. So many secrets between the two that causes so much drama and conflict. After their son goes missing, the craziness increases until everything comes out and the person behind it all is revealed. I had an inkling of who the perpetrator was but still was shocked when they and their reasonings was revealed. Lies, thrills, revenge: this book is filled with it!

Glad I didn’t give up!

I almost quit this book a few times. Don’t know why I didn’t. There is so much repetitiveness and that is one of my pet peeves. Does the author really think we can’t remember what we’ve read? Once I got passed that, I couldn’t put it down. The twists are mind blowing! Would definitely recommend.

Listened to this on audible and finished it within a few short days.... an amazing story and so well told!
I admit I wasn't sure at first because of the way a couple of the characters/voice actor spoke, but after that I was hooked. Kept me guessing until nearing the end when I finally figured it out as all the pieces started to fit together.
Highly recommend!

It was a slow burner start that had me considering not finishing the book. but my oh my! The twists on the foregone conclusion of the story was amazing. I know it's a work of fiction, but I still am a fan of positive outcomes and redemptive endings with a steely twist. Life is like that too, isn't it?

Great story to read! I figured out one of the twists early ( only because I watched lots of mystery’s in my time) and another one that was a bit obvious to me.
Still lots of twists and turns. The last sentence even had me shocked n surprised.

My Missing Boy absolutely blew me away. I went into it expecting a standard suspense read, and it completely exceeded every expectation. From the very first chapter I was hooked. You know that feeling when a book grabs you by the throat and refuses to let you go? That was this one for me.

I had the majority of it figured out in the first 1/4 of the book. It still kept my interest. I didn’t have all the little details, and in the end I didn’t like that there were too many coincidences. But solid 3 1/5 stars that I rounded up to 4.

I did not enjoy this at all. It was a free audible. The narrator voices were so annoying. Also, the southern accents were waaaaay off target. It managed to be both contrived and predictable. Do not recommend.
