More continuity issues than you can shake a stick at
This novella is 109 pages and has approximately 218 problems. I exaggerate but honestly, it's a lot of errors for such a short book. I know one author with a 7+ book series that doesn't have this many details screwed up.
What's good - the FMC is the bare bones of a decent FMC. She has major potential and should have been fleshed out better. Hmmm..... Her brother is amusing and her family is nice, mostly. That's pretty much it.
The MMC is ok but not great. He pushes and bulldozes into a relationship without any true consent from Mollie. It works out only because SHE makes it work. Not because Trace made any intelligent or decent overture.
What doesn't work - the ex. His existence is fine, even his first appearance on page is fine, beyond that he hasn't been built out enough to support his continued pursuit and should not show up after that single visit on page in the apartment.
The details. So many details. In chapter 8 Mollie waxes poetic about her nearly perfect nest in her apartment but when she sees Traces house plans she claims to never have had a nest. This is just one of the many details flubs but it bugged me excessively.
The editing in general is pretty poor. It's 109 pages and there are at least 4 points where the paragraphs are suddenly duplicated slightly down page, or the scenes are choppy like they've been cut and paste into the wrong order. At one point they're laying in bed sans fabric and the next paragraph has them stepping into the kitchen.
It's unfortunate because the idea of the book is good. The synopsis had me hooked. The execution is poor at best. If you have very low expectations and just an hour or so to waste, go ahead and hop in. If you want something enjoyable, there are much better Christmas or OV stories available. (Side note - this is a monogamous story, so if you want true RH OV do not pick this one up)
