This book was so stupid. I’m a fan of spice but the MC is a 25 year old woman with 3 40-something dudes who DP’s them on the first night they are together? RIGHT. Not to mention she gets kidnapped TWICE by some complete idiot we are expected to believe is an elite Navy Seal? Then she gets pregnant and not once is there a discussion about which of them might be the father. Or how, exactly, they plan to get married. Also—one year later at Christmas they say the baby is AT LEAST 4 months old. The math ain’t mathin’. Don’t bother reading this. There are plenty of GOOD spicy books out there.
I mean if you are going to publish a book edit it properly. An entire chapter that was supposed to be from Reed's POV and you switch it to Tarron's POV. Tarron is the medic, Reed is the tracker. How hard is it to find these flaws and fix them before releasing? Storyline is a good one, but the editing 🤦🏼♀️

She was their mission. She became their everything.
Payton signs up for a solo survival retreat in Alaska. She doesn’t expect to be kidnapped by mercenaries or rescued by three heavily armed strangers with ghosts in their eyes and heat in every look. Maverick is all command and quiet rage. Reed throws sarcasm like knives. Tarron sees straight through her. Trapped in the cold, they become her only protection and her greatest temptation.
What starts in fear shifts fast. One night becomes something deeper, forged in trust, heat, and survival. But when the calm shatters, Payton is left with nothing but ash and silence. Back home, haunted and unsure, she tries to move on, but the past isn’t done with her.
She’s not just holding a secret. She’s holding the weight of everything they lost and everything they could still be. When danger finds her again, the men who love her will stop at nothing to bring her back, and this time, they’re not letting go.
Payton begins as independent and curious, but untested. Forced to face violence and uncertainty, she grows stronger, more grounded, and capable of letting others in. Maverick, Reed, and Tarron carry their own shadows, but through her, they heal. What starts as duty becomes a love they’re no longer afraid to claim.
Their relationship shifts from survival instinct to lasting bond. It’s messy, intense, and tender. What began as protection becomes partnership. They build something rare, safe, chosen, and fiercely real.
A steamy, age gap, reverse harem, snowed in, ex-military, secret past, Christmastime rescue romance exploring survival, trauma recovery, trust, healing, family, identity, revenge, and love. It’s about choosing love in the middle of chaos, rebuilding after loss, and learning that being seen and held can be its own kind of salvation.
The Elevator Pitch: A kidnapped woman and three ex–military rescuers find unexpected connection while trapped in the Alaskan wilderness. What begins as survival quickly becomes something deeper, fueled by trust, heat, and emotional healing. With danger closing in, their story blends high stakes, found family, and intense romance into one steamy, unforgettable ride.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Blizzard. Bed. Baby. And three dangerously beautiful soldiers.”
I picked up Holiday Hostage (because really, how could I not after reading that blurb?) expecting a spicy Christmas fling with survivalist vibes. What I got was a full-blown adrenaline rush wrapped in tinsel, trauma, and tenderness.
The setup is wild—in the best way. Our heroine Payton signs up for an Alaskan survival course to “find herself.” Instead, she finds herself kidnapped. The tension is instant, the stakes high, and just when things couldn’t get worse… three ex–Army Rangers crash in like holiday avengers straight out of a fever dream.
Maverick, Reed, and Tarron each bring their own flavor of heartbreak and heat.
Maverick’s the gruff leader with a haunted past, Reed’s the tattooed chaos gremlin with too much fire in his veins, and Tarron… oh, Tarron, the medic who heals with his hands and ruins with his mouth. Together, they make “sharing a bed for warmth” sound like a religious experience.
But what sets this story apart from typical reverse harem tropes is the emotional weight. When the gunfire fades and the snow settles, the silence hits hard. The aftermath isn’t just physical—it’s psychological, maternal, and deeply human.
The pregnancy twist could have been cliché, but here it feels earned—a symbol of survival, connection, and the dangerous gift of love that refuses to die.
If you like: ❄️ Survivalist romance with teeth 🎄 Christmas spice that burns slow and deep 💔 Found family forged in trauma 🔥 Three morally gray heroes you’ll want to slap and kiss in equal measure.
Then this book will wreck you—in the best way.
I laughed. I gasped. I ugly cried into my hot cocoa. And when I hit that last page? I was ready to reread it all over again.

Payton, a blogger, is on an Alaskan adventure when the unthinkable happens: she gets kidnapped. Her father hires the team of ex-Army Rangers, Maverick, Tarron, and Reed, to rescue her from the mercenaries who have kidnapped Payton. Payton is one bad ass, and she is making sure to make things difficult for her kidnappers. After rescuing Payton, they find themselves snowbound due to a severe snowstorm. During this time, they all find feelings for each other, and things get steamy between the four. Will they be safe, or will they get found again by the mercenaries? Due to the storm, Payton doesn't manage to make it home in time for Christmas with her father. She finally makes it back home, misses her men, and then finds she is pregnant. How will she cope with a baby and no father around? I recieved an arc from Booksprout for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love an age gap Reverse Harem with three silver foxes and one badass female, then you will love this book. I loved Maverick, Tarron, Reed, and Payton's story. Have the tissues handy, as you will need them as Lisa gives you all the feels and emotions with this story.
It felt incomplete. The whole premise was unresolved. She's on location in Alaska for her travel blog - gets kidnapped for ransom- TWICE. We never see or hear either of the ransom calls or notes which might help us figure out who the villain is actually after. Her kidnapping is supposed to be the catalyst for the "bad guy" to get payment from an arms dealer who owed him. We never learn who the bad guy is working for... and as stated by the FMC, multiple times, she's not the daughter of the man he's looking for bc her father isn't an arms dealer. We also never find out if that is true. Her father is a billionaire whom we have no idea what he does or how he earned his billions... it's not entirely impossible that he earned them dealing arms; but the author omitted it or didn't feel it was important to the plot. eek.
Almost unnecessarily, the "bad guy" they have to rescue her from is their arch nemesis and is responsible for ending 2 of their military careers.
Does she get rescued? YES. Does she end up with all three men? YES.
Explosive, Emotional, and Seriously Addictive! “Holiday Hostage” grabbed me from the very first page and didn’t let go. Lisa Cullen delivers the perfect mix of danger, steam, and heart in this age-gap, military reverse harem romance. The chemistry between the heroine and her protectors is off the charts — each man brings something different, and together they’re pure perfection. I loved the balance between the suspenseful, high-stakes storyline and the emotional depth that made me feel for every character. The writing is sharp, the pacing keeps you hooked, and the tension (both romantic and otherwise!) builds beautifully. If you love protective, alpha men, a strong but relatable heroine, and a story that blends spice with genuine connection, this one’s a must-read for the holidays. I devoured it in one sitting!.

When Maverick, Reed, and Tarron get brought in for a search and rescue mission for kidnapped victim Payton Rivers, what they weren't expecting was to find love. Payton is beautiful, strong, and caring. These men will go to great lengths to get her to safety. However, like all rescue missions, things can go awry, and they must adjust their plans accordingly. The feelings between the men and Payton soon heat up, keeping the chill at bay. They have fallen hard and fast.
But have they let their guard down? Did they think they'd have more time? Payton is their only focus; to get her to safety, no matter what it costs, and the cost is high.
Payton is reeling from all that has happened since she was kidnapped, and she has more news that knocks her further. She has to be strong, especially now; she has to fight not only for herself. But the biggest surprise is yet to come.

So hot! 3 shameless flirts, wrapped in bodies made for sin and death, and unstoppably devoted to the luckiest woman ever. One kidnapping, I can see. Two? ok. persistent bad guy. but 3? Why hasn't anyone called Liam Niesen yet? Have to admit, frustrated with the good-guy struggle to beat the bad guy from the get-go, but then we wouldn't have a plot to drive us along, would we? Also would have been nice to see our heroine get a few good shots in on the bad guys, especially for the gal who was able to land more than a few shots on the supposed beast warriors.
Heat started to play a whole lot sooner than anticipated, which was a pleasant surprise. Nothing worse than a stubborn slow burn with three sexy hunks constantly playingbthe long game.
Could have done without the angst, though.
Absolutely worth the weekend read.

But once they find where she is being held she is already fighting back and doesn't realize they are there to rescue her so she fights them too. And because of that they can't get out before they are seen. One of them gets shot but they are able to get away and they go to the cabin of one of the guys fathers but they are found again. There is 3 guys severely injured and thought dead but Payton gets home. But just when it looks like things are looking up for her she is kidnapped again. This book seems like it was actually written by a woman. Most of the reverse harem books I have read involve the men dominating the FMC. They actually give little regard to her pleasure. In this book, the MMCharacters prioritize her pleasure and let her control the intimacy. The beginning was a little hard to believe because she fell for the men so quickly without really developing trust. Other than that, there was a lot of action and a lot of heart. Hooray for a reverse harem that doesn't believe the FMC should be grateful to be bossed around while having a cock shoved in her every orifice.
'Payton took the punches life threw her way and didn’t let them drag her down. She fought back and forged ahead with the kind of determination that made me proud to know her. In all the women I’d met through the years, none of them held a candle to Payton. Her resilience and tenderness created a uniqueness that had me falling for her. I didn’t know how much longer I could hold out against the soft feelings bunching inside my heart.'
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast-paced romance with suspense, danger, and action. Good world building and wonderful characters. I liked Payton and the guys Maverick, Reed, and Tarron and how they connected. An exciting romance. 4 stars
A wonderful reverse harem, action, ex-military, age gap story that will keep you reading non-stop until the end. The MMCs are fantastic with their caring, sharing, and protectiveness. The FMC is sweet, strong, and feisty. The story moved along at a good pace, and the action/adventure plot with kidnapping and rescues was great! There was quite a bit of spice mixed in where it would fit, and the entire thing worked to be an overall fun read.

This was another exciting and spicy addition to the series and frankly, between the blurb and the jacket, I couldn't help but dive in ;) Blogger Payton is off on a survival adventure in Alaska when she gets kidnapped. Yikes! Maverick, Tarron and Reed are hired to rescue her. They do but they end up snowed in and let me just say, their chemistry exploded ;P Expect to be caught up in the drama, danger, emotions, healing and hot romance. I love how their journey unfolded and can't wait for what's next by this author. Good fun!

This was hot sexy dangerous smutty emotional roller coaster but I loved it. To me Payton was just a girl who wanted different. She got that but it came with major consequences. And those consequences are named Maverick, Tarron and Reed. But it’s good consequences. They help her in a way that I wasn’t expecting. I loved this.

There's clearly a huge following for this author and she is very prolific - it just wasn't my favorite.
That's a personal preference because I like my books with a lot more descriptions, emotional depth, drama etc. This book has all those ingredients, in moderate amounts, so I enjoyed it but it didn't quite drag me in and hold me.
Having said that - could work great as a palette cleanser.
Holiday Hostage by Lisa Cullen is an age gap, military reverse harem romantic suspense novel. Is a travel blogger. She's the only child of a very rich man., ,On an Alaskan trip she gets kidnapped by mercenaries. Her father, Frank, calls in a military, Rangers, trained group to go get her & bring her home. They are Maverick, the leader. Torren, the medic. Then there is CD Reed, the planner, tracker. Their story starts here.
The writing wasn’t particularly good but I persevered for a couple chapters to see if things would improve. It got worse. There was a POV chapter for one of the men, but the POV character kept addressing the person whose POV it was supposed to be. Is he talking to himself out loud in front of his team? Do they not find that problematic?
With this big an editing error and the mediocre writing overall, I gave up.
Cullen does it again. How? No idea, because I'd be out of ideas after like, 4 books. But she keeps giving us these stories that make us squirm in our seats, or couches, or beds, whatever, when no one is looking. Don't lie, you know you do. And we thank her for it.

Maverick, Reed and Tarron have been tasked by Payton's father to find her in Alaska. What they get is a blizzard, one bed, and her. A steamy why choose read with an OMYW dynamic, secrets, and plenty of sizzle.

I love a good snowed in book and this one was perfect. Well Payton is on an Alaskan when she gets kidnapped,. Her dad hires x-Army Rangers, Maverick, Tarron, and Reed to bring her back but when the get trap in storm things heated. I love this book and how they handle their relationship once everything is settled
This was full of action of all kinds *wink*. I really liked Payton. She is human and has her hang-ups like most people. But she is also fierce and smart. And her military men are such perfect matches for her. They are strong physically and morally and I love how they all admire her for her strength. It was a good read all around with a lot of great characters.
Payton was held hostage, rescued and then captivated by three ex-military men that captured her heart. This reverse harem was entertaining and with an added dash of holiday complexity it was delightful to read.
