Writer of words. Drinker of Diet Cokes. Lover of all things cute and furry, especially her dog. Catherine has had her nose in a book since the time she could read and finally decided to write down some of her own stories. When she's not writing she can be found exploring her home state of Oregon, listening to true crime podcasts, or searching for her next book boyfriend.
Ok I used this as a placeholder for an anthropology I was gifted and it was a collection of Christmas novellas from a ton of authors. I loved every bit of them but Catherine’s were just so well written.
Kat sington had a great really short story as well
I've been meaning to pick up this series for forever and I'm only sad it took me so long. We are off to such a wonderful start in Cedar Ridge and I already can't get enough. This second chance romance combined with suspense and mystery had me hooked from the start. I absolutely loved Holt and Wren's story; it was heartbreaking and yet so beautiful.
The villain caught me off guard for sure. I had my suspicions that their suspicions weren't right, but what was real was such a twist. Did you catch all that? NEVER SLEEP ON CATHERINE. I am so excited for what's next in this series.
The audio was fantastic. I adore Andi Arndt and thought this whole production was just so well done.
ECHOES OF YOU 5 ⭐ 2.5 🌶️ 5 🎧
The Hartley's have me absolutely captivated and I can't get enough. Echoes of You was heartbreaking, but also so beautiful and sweet and swoonworthy. I loved Nash and Maddie so dang much and watching them F I N A L L Y admit their feelings and find their happy ever after was everything I could have asked for.
This one was suspenseful from the start and coming from all directions. We had the abusive ex, the abusive father and the douchecanoe wannabe and honestly it felt like even more. These two could not catch a break and were hurting physically and emotionally for like 95% of this book. I half expected a funny accident sending them to the hospital in the epilogue tbh but thankfully it all ended up perfectly and I'm so excited for what's next in Cedar Ridge.
The audio was perfect (as always). Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke are such a dream team and they did such a wonderful job with these characters. I loved this listen.
GLIMMERS OF YOU 5 ⭐ 2.5 🌶️ 5 🎧
So obsessed with this series. Well, really just Catherine in general. Glimmers was everything I was hoping for from Caden and Grae. These besties to (fr)enemies to lovers were absolutely perfect and I loved watching them find their happy ever after.
The twist in this one got me. I had my eyes on a totally different suspect the whole time, and just when I was convinced it was someone else, it turned out to be a completely different someone I never saw coming. (did you follow all that?)
The audio was fantastic too. I loved Erin Mallon to pieces and very much enjoyed this listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the promo copy!
SHADOWS OF YOU 5 ⭐ 2.5 🌶️ 5 🎧
My goodness, these two were everythinggggg. I fell so hard for Roan. And Aspen. And Cady. And gahhhh just everything about this story. The suspense was intense and threw me for a got danged loop. I did not see that twist coming. I actually thought it was some poor innocent soul, so sorry my dude.... Lol but Catherine did so good with this plot y'all.
And the instalove that felt absolutely soul shattering and so real was perfect. I usually dislike this trope, but I think it's more when the characters are instantly like I LOVE YOU WITH A CAPITAL L but these two were so hesitant to say the words despite subconsciously knowing from the start and it was truly a beautiful thing. And Roan with Cady? Puddle. My heart was a big ol puddle.
The audio was perfect. I loved Maxine Mitchell and Zachary Webber to pieces in this one and I loved this listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the promo copy!
ASHES OF YOU 5 ⭐ 2.5 🌶️ 5 🎧
What a freaking finale. Not only did I absolutely adore these five perfect souls, but the plot—both romance and suspense—were phenomenal. I not only loved watching Lawson and Hallie fall in love, but I loved watching them both overcome their pasts and learn to live again. The kids were so cute and I adored their relationships with Hallie. Luke in particular was so sweet once she broke down his walls. I just loved them all so much.
I don't want to spoil anything, but OMG I KNEW IT. Okay, phew, got that off my chest. That was such a freaking twist and I feel so vindicated lol
The audio was fantastic. Ava Erickson and Sebastian York are two of my favorites and they did such a wonderful job with these characters. I loved this listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the promo copy.
VISIONS OF YOU 4 ⭐ 1.5 🌶️ 5 🎧
I feel like if this was a full book I would have loved it way more. The twist was great and if there was more tension and angst that we truly felt between these two it could have been off the charts hot. As it stands though it was a fun, quick read that I enjoyed. West made me wanna scream occasionally, but it all worked out in the end.
The audio was great. Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon were perfect as always and I loved this listen. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the promo copy!
It's honestly crazy that this series has such a high rating. If I hadn't bought this box set, I wouldn't have gone past the first book.
What to expect: ⭐"No need for a condom, I'm on the pill" ⭐ 5-year-olds not acting like 5-year-olds ⭐Men with the emotional maturity of a crayon ⭐The same story told six different times ⭐All six FMCs getting kidnapped ⭐Cringe ⭐Cringe nicknames (Little Minx? Tender Heart? Little Dancer? Cricket? Gag me with a spoon) ⭐Getting engaged by the end ⭐Pregnancy... lots of it ⭐No diversity until the last book in the series ⭐Rushed endings
Now, I did already give a review for each book, so this will be my overall review of the series that I ended up hate reading.
White-bread Characters: Hold on to your panties, there's a lot of them.
Holt: This man was a selfish idiot. From the first chapter to the last, I hated this man. His girlfriend gets shot, almost dies, is (by all accounts) traumatised, and he thinks, "How do I make this about me?" then fucks off. He comes back only to continue to make her trauma about him. Like, tell me why Wren, in the ten years this bozo was MIA, thinks that no other man can live up to Holt? What do you mean? This man had NO personality. I couldn't tell you a single thing about him other than he's ex-military and runs his own security company. In all the other books, I forget he even exists. He melts so far into the background, then has scenes where he's nothing but a piece of cardboard with dialogue.
Wren: There's really not much to say about her. She also had no personality in her book and became stereotypical for the rest of the series. The only thing about her that I can remember, and possibly it's because it was beaten over my head through the first 3 books, is that she's addicted to Little Women. That's her personality. Again, she blends so far into the background when it's not her book that I forget she exists until the script calls for
Nash: Probably one of my favorite characters... possibly it was because he had a personality. Sure, it was a goofy man who loves food, but damn if it wasn't a breath of fresh air after dealing with nothing burger Holt. Now the problem was, as I mentioned above, the same story is repeated for all 6 books. Like Holt, Nash blames himself for Maddie's big injury at the start of the book and makes it his mission to become a sad boy and push her away due to it, because who doesn't like a man making your trauma about them?
Maddie: I mean she likes training dogs, and for some reason, Catherine decided that everyone in her life wants her dead. Don't know what else to say about her. She's just there.
Caden: The first boy that isn't a Hartley, but just as dumb. His sister dies, then Grae nearly does, so he does what Catherine Cowles men do best and fucks off. This boy was at least interesting in the fact that because he wasn't a Hartley, he got an interesting (yet cliché) rich people problem backstory. Again, no personality, and he really disappears after this book. Probably because this is all happening to one family and Catherine realized how many fucking characters that is.)
Grae: The first interesting female character. Well, she was in everyone else's book. In her own, she molded into the personality of every other generic female lead in this series. I thought for sure this character would have been badass. She was constantly proving herself to her family that she was capable (she threw knives!) only for Catherine to be like... "I'm going to let her get kidnapped twice, and both times she will need a man to save her."
Roan: Roan is a breath of fresh air in the sense that this is the first book in the series that wasn't a second-chance romance, and I didn't have to read about a man pushing away the woman he loves because of her trauma. I did like Roan's stoic nature, and next to Nash, he actually had a personality. Didn't understand why he hated the cat, considering he was supposed to be the one who prefers animals to humans. But whatever. That wasn't my biggest problem with him. He was an absolute man-child during Aspen's kidnapping. Lawson had to tell him multiple times to settle the fuck down (which c'mon... by now, they should have been desensitized to kidnappings, as it happened 4 other times at this point).
Aspen: She had a unique backstory which made me like Aspen's book better than the rest despite giving it a 1-star (CC had to rush the ending and pmo). Now, I will give it to Catherine... Aspen did have a personality that showed in not only her book but the other books she appeared in. Not that there was much personality other than an overly caring mother-type, but you know. It was something.
Lawson: haha his name is LAWson and he's very by the books. Symbolism, amiright? Law was another that had personality, which I'm glad most of the boys do, whereas the women are just bland af.
Hallie: Hallie was done somewhat well. Catherine attempted to write a character with PTSD and anxiety, but possibly didn't do the best job at it. Like a reviewer said, ain't no way doing that 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 thing will stop a panic attack, but okay. Go off. I'll suspend my disbelief. But you strip away her PTSD/anxiety and she had no other personality trait.
The Children: Out of all the children, Luke was probably the most accurate to his age. Okay, Drew probably was too, but the excessive use of bro/bruh really made me want to throw the character in the trash. The problem characters were the younger ones, and I'm including Caden's dead sister in this. None of them acted like their age. I've never met a 5-year-old that talked like Cady and Charlie did, and you can't tell me Caden's sister's wish was to work in her father's company when she was like ten.
That's just the main cast, btw. By the end of the series, there were way too many characters that got progressively worse as everyone was spitting out more children, and Hallie's gay brothers (yes, our only diverse characters in the entire series) were also there with a child. That epilogue in the 5th book was a nightmare to get through.
Oh yes, let's not forget the novella that really wasn't (thankfully) happening in the same fecking town as the others did with the same fecking family. 'Cause what do you MEAN all five women in this family had been kidnapped at one time or another? This is a small town, and somehow it's full of serial killers and murderers. Bro, I'd move.
West: Just another Holt/Caden/Nash rip-off. "I love my little sister's friend but can't have her (for some reason or another) so I'm going to leave, then come back and lead her on, then be mean only to lead her on some more. He was the worst. And I pray that his crush was recent, because that's a 4-year difference between them, and at one point they mentioned 16 and 20, and I really pray that he wasn't 20 crushing on a 16-year-old.
Lex: Lex's only personality trait was being a singer. But it was something. More than what some of the other women got.
The prose throughout the entirety of this book was mediocre. Catherine's editor really needs to make a list of banned words and phrases. I'll start off: Shadows (in eyes), Depths, Gnashing back (teeth/molars), I'm on the pill... That's just a few right off the top of my head.
So, maybe 2 stars is a bit high, but here we are. Not sure if I'm going to continue with her other books. I just know after reading 7 (this series plus All the Missing Pieces) books of hers that they all probably read about the same.
Also, I beg her. Stop rushing the endings. The kidnappings and subsequent saving are so rushed that you might as well not even add that into the story. It does nothing.
Happy release day to one of my all-time favorite small-town romantic suspense series! The Lost and Found box set is everything I adore about Catherine Cowles wrapped into one bingeable package. Her writing is emotional, atmospheric and beautifully paced. Every book pulls you straight into these mountain towns, these families, these heartbreaks and these slow burn moments that hit right where it counts.
And the audiobook lineup is simply, Exceptional. The narrators breathe so much life into each couple, each twist and every moment of danger or tenderness. It’s one of those rare series where switching between reading and listening feels completely seamless.
Each book delivers its own mix of heart, healing, suspense and swoon, but together they form a world I genuinely never want to leave. If Catherine writes it, I devour it and this box set is such a gift for longtime fans and new readers alike.
Whether you love second chance, friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, single parent romance, or a little suspense mixed with your small town charm, this series consistently delivers.
So thrilled this collection is finally out in the world. 💙
A huge thanks to Catherine and must love audio for this gifted box set!
I have spent the last 2 weeks in Cedar Ridge devouring this series and i have zero regrets! This set is PERFECT for the binge readers who love their romance with a splash of mystery and suspense. I have never met a Catherine Cowles book that I did not love and this series so easily hooks you with every single book!
All the books are broken up their own chapters so its easy to navigate between books and the narrators are all fantastic! Each performance keeps you coming back for more until the next thing you know you have devoured 5 books and a novella! I have now read 5/6 books from this collection and Echoes of you is my favorite so far!
Thank you so much to Catherine and team for this gifted audiobook 🫶🏼
Using this one to count as Whispers of You for my reading goal*
Thoughts on WoY: What a way to start a series!!! I loved loved loved this! If I wasnt already hooked on Catherine I for sure would be after this! I adore Wren and Holt so much 😭🫶🏼 I loved Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber together they did a fantastic job! And even though I guessed the bad guy correctly this time (im basically an FBI agent now) catherine still managed to bamboozle me!!!
Oh my goodness! This set needs more than 5 stars. The Lost and Found series is one of my top series to read. Then I was fortunate enough to get the box set of audio. And oh wow! #1 I forgot just how much I loved this series, and getting to go back and reunited with The Hartley family.
Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber were fabulous as Holt and Wren. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke gave us a phenomenal performance as Nash and Maddie. Erin Mallon was paired with Joe Arden to give us Grae and Caden, and let’s face it no one could have done better. Maxine Mitchell and Zachary Webber gave us Roan and Aspen. Ava Erickson and Sebastian York were paired for Lawson and Hallie. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke gave a great performance as West and Lex in the novella Visions of You. If you are looking for small town, suspense, and swoony guys, then this is a must listen to series.
1. Whispers of You - Narrated by Andi Arndt & Zachary Webber ; Whispers of you is a second chance romance that absolutely blew my mind. Holt & Wren were done so perfectly well. I absolutely adore this narration combination as well. 2. Echoes of You - Narrated by Jason Clarke & Erin Mallon; Nash and Maddie were friends to lovers. The way Nash pined for Maddie was so pure and raw. I loved this one so much. 3. Glimmers of You - Narrated by Joe Arden & Erin Mallon; For all of my fellow Brother’s Best Friend fans, this one’s for you! Caden and Grae are MAGIC… PURE MAGIC. This is probably my all time favorite trope so I was not disappointed. 4. Shadows of You - Narrated by Maxine Mitchell & Zachary Webber; To me, Roan was the dark horse of this series that very pleasantly surprised me. I loved him so much. This was a single mom x grumpy, tortured hero story and it was exceptional. 5. Ashes of You - Narrated by Ava Erickson & Sebastian York; Lawson, Law Daddy Hartley came firing on all cylinders in this one. SebYo and Ava are impeccable. The single dad x nanny trope is always a hit. This was no exception. The suspense was heavy as well. 6. Visions of You - Narrated by Jason Clarke & Erin Mallon; This Novella was so sweet and pure. It was a best friend’s older brother. It was such a great way to wrap up the series. The story technically takes place before book 1. I loved every minute of this box set and can’t recommend it enough.
Audiobook and Kindle: I have reviewed each book separately, so I am just going to do a ranking here and overall review. I really like these books. This was my first full series by this author and I enjoy her writing. I will say she does get pretty repetitive and the books are basically written like a template, but she keeps me guessing on the bad guys and the romance is sweet and spicy.
Also, some of my all-time favorite characters in this entire series were the kids but Cady and Charlie took the cake. I love those two kiddos so much and Drew was a second favorite; he was so funny.
This was a reread on audio n I still loved it just as much. The books Shadows of You and Ashes of You gave me huge trust issues with all characters in Catherine’s books. I now suspect EVERYONE!! This is one of my favourite series all different tropes, everyone has their own struggles and secrets. The Hartley family are loving and welcoming to anyone they meet true meaning of found family. All narrators did amazing and made you feel so much deeper
I loved the whole series and the boxset was perfect since they were all in one place. I loved each narrator and story. My favorite had to be Aspen though. I thought her book was the most captivating and I couldn’t get enough. If you love audiobooks and suspenseful romance stories then this boxset is for you!
This box set Grabs your attention right from the start and keeps you interest until the very last page. Great character in the story line That you will love. Looking forward to the next book and more from this author soon
This was such a great series. There was so much action and so many twists; I couldn’t put it down. I genuinely loved every character and storyline. I know for a fact that this will be a series I read over and over again.
I really enjoyed reading this whole series. I was able to read through it in a week! It would have been nice if it would have divided out the books For my goodreads app But that's okay I still have the credit for reading everything
Those Hartley siblings' books were soooo good. Had me on the edge of my seat, playing the "who dunnit" guessing game. West and Lex peeked my curiosity and interest for the next series as well.
I love this series so much and had to do a reread on the boxed set to start the new year! The Hartley boys are my fave! I love the small town mystery and vibes of this series! One of my faves!
