Heading to her nursing school graduation with a heart full of bruises didn’t exactly feel like the beginning of a happily ever after to Graysen Charles. All she knew was after the past few years, she was ready for a fresh start.

Doctor Jameer St. John is everything she should avoid. He’s handsome, charming, and her boss. As the medical director over one of the most esteemed orthopedic practices in the state, he carries the weight of his father’s legacy on his back with pride. Jameer never expected to fall for anyone over a slice of pizza at a job fair, but he did, and now she’s his new nurse.

Late hours in the clinic and stolen moments in exam rooms make it impossible for their connection not to grow. Graysen knows that getting involved with her boss could threaten her career, but Jameer continues to show that he might just be worth the risk. Secrets and boundaries threaten their bond, but Jameer vows not to go down without a fight.

Real, authentic love

Ms. James you always come through and know the assignment. In my grade book, you got an A+ on this one. I am all things medical and healthcare. I believe it is because I have worked in the healthcare sector for quite a few years now. Jameer and Graysen's story was more reality than fiction. Grayson felt like she was flawed or broken while Jameer knew he had found his soulmate. The story hits different because he accepted all of her without any stipulations. He didn't try to belittle her or make her feel less then. He just loved her as the beautiful woman she was. She was intelligent, caring, loving, trustworthy with immaculate work ethic.

This was my type of romantic story because two people fell in love over time. It wasn't fast paced or had any unhinged characters. It is just one of the stories you would like to read on your back porch with a glass of sweet tea while the wind is mildly blowing.

The Good Doctor

Yes, this was a mild Grey's anatomy sweet treat story. Jameer was not your typical doctor with a holier than thou persona. He was a hot doc with an eye for talent and his forever nurse. Graysen was his person... That's it... The story was really good. Don't take my words, read for yourself...

Jameer

This was the slowest of slow burns for me and I struggled to get through it at times. Greysen was determined to fight her feelings and attraction to Jameer, while all he wanted to do was get the green light to lean in and express his feelings for her. Greysen was a bit frustrating with her back and forth and pushing Jameer away to maintain a professional boundary but then getting upset when he honored those boundaries thinking he was playing games.

While this was a slow burn, once Greysen completely gave Jameer the green light, it was like 0 to 60 on how their relationship escalated. I liked these two together and it was clear to see Jameer’s infatuation with Greysen before they ever even kissed, so I would have liked to see more of them together in an actual relationship and not in the professional capacity.

The ending to me was a bit lackluster and disappointing, but that just goes into my wanting to see more of these two together as a couple. All in all, I did enjoy their story and if you like slow burns, you will also likely enjoy this one too.

Nice… cute love story

This was a fast paced love story, but it was such a cute one. Graysen graduated from nursing school and was struggling to make ends meet. Thankfully, she was able to crash with her sisters and meet Dr. St John. She didn’t know it from their first encounter, but she ran into her future boss and husband. I was hoping she’d be able to have a baby, but she already had a hysterectomy. Jameer was 42 and wasn’t stressing having kids though. He only needed his soulmate, Graysen. It’s crazy that she tried to hold out and date around only to run into Jameer’s little brother, Jordy. Thank goodness not much happened between the two. That only lit the ignition for Jameer to get his woman!!! Wonder whose story will be next???

Jameer was That!

A refreshing love story with an older man who knows what he wants and who he wants it from and with. Like Greyson stated, Jameer could have any woman he wanted and that’s exactly what he’s working on, Nurse Greyson. I thoroughly enjoyed his persistence in not following her rules, entirely. Greyson didn’t know she had the perfect interview, for the perfect job, working for the perfect boss. This woman had it made and I’d trade places with her in a heartbeat. They both were just the perfect" prescription" the “doctor” ordered at the right time after graduation from nursing school. You’ll love this because once Jameer sent that address to her, baybeee it was no holds barred. Whew!! And it wend down, and down and down!! You get the point!!! Enjoy!!

Different but I still loved it!!

Tatum did an amazing job on this book. This book is definitely not her normal writing style, so if you are looking for a fast pace love story, this is not that.

Jameer fell in love at first sight with Graysen at first sight but he needed a nurse for his clinic at the same time and she had just gone through a bad breakup and even though she was attracted to him. So this story goes through how they work through their feelings for each other while staying professional and not crossing the lines until they no longer could stay away from each other.

If you like a slow pace forbidden love but not really forbidden romance, then you are going to love this book.

Too cute!!

This was so cute!! It was fast paced and the sexual tention in the story was at a max. Jameer staked his claim and got his woman. He saw the potential in Greyson when she didn't see it in herself and helped nurture the confidence in her. Greyson had faith in herself, but still allowed doubt to creep in sometimes. But when a certain doctor would remind her of the good job she was doing professionally her confidence would increase a little bit. I admire Jameer's patience in pursuing her, but took charge when needed. And I am glad Greyson submitted to her own happiness. Five stars Ms. James!!🥰

took too long to get there

When i realized we were 70.% in and they barely made movement in their relationship i almost gave up. The overall plot of the story was nice but it took waaayyyyy tooooo longgggg for there to be progress like omg. Can we get some forward movement and then because of that the ending felt like we were zooming through time. There was too much ground work to cover. With less than 30% of the book left they got together and married.

Amazing Read

Jameer knew that he wanted Greysen for more than a nurse when he laid eyes on her. He had to play the part when she first started her job or he would run her off. Their chemistry was undeniable to everyone around. Greysen almost made him lose his mind before she gave in to his advances. Once they crossed that line, there was no turning back! Their love was explosive and magnificent. Awesome read!

Jameer and Graysen!!

Jameer knew what he wanted, and he wanted Graysen at first sight. Graysen wanted Jameer as well, but she stubbornly kept pushing him away. This is a slow burn that was enjoyable to read. The chemistry and emotional connection between Jameer and Graysen was woven throughout the book. Their getting together was a long time coming, but it was what they both needed. I couldn't put the book down and was able to read it in one day. Great book!!

Good read but I wanted more!

Jameer and Graysen were so cute together. She was hurt over her ex and what he did and Jameer was a workaholic. They met at a job fair and he was instantly smittened. Working for him was a challenge because all the feelings were present. In the end they did fall in love and got their HEA! I wanted more for the ending, it was kind of abrupt but a good storyline anyway.

This wasn’t bad - for a short read, we spent a lot of time on character development which I appreciated. My only gripe is how fast the relationship romance went. This wasn’t a slow burn necessarily; throughout the entirety of the book Jameer and Grayson actually like each other. However, we don’t see this bloom until 80% of the book. Which if given just a bit more, we can see how the romance developed. Overall, a good read but the ending felt so rushed.

Jameer

Whew Chile Greysen had GREAT discipline, because the way I would’ve been letting Dr. St John turn me every way but loose on day one! My girl stuck to her guns even with everything Jameer was throwing at her. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait until you bless us with your talent again!

His nurse

Jameer was not playing fair. Very demanding but in a HOT way. Graysen was no match for the attraction that was between them. I loved how he said, "Those are my mother's dreams. You are mine."

I can’t wait to read more about them later as more about his siblings and hers is revealed.

A man who knows who and what he wants

I loved Jameer. He was confident and stood on what he wanted. He did try to be good in the beginning. He really did but the pull he felt couldn't be ignored. I wished it was longer. I wanted to know how Sunday dinner went and meeting the parents since Greyson already met dad. Another good one Tatum!

Insta Love/Slow burn vibe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I heard that slow burns often built the best heat.” Oh man do they. Tatum you are in a roll here sis! Another 5 star read. Dr Jameer St John, I think I have a crush on you sir! This was the slowest of the burns, with the love portion coming towards the end. Totally worth the wait and build up. The St. John’s deserved their love story.

Secret Love

Excellent love story. Unless you have experience the lost of not having children it will be hard to understand this story.
Jameer was a stand up guy who knew what he wanted. Grayson had been beaten down mentally because she could not have children. Jameer did not care.
Thanks for telling this story!!!

This was such a good read. Jameer knew from the moment he met Greysen that she was it for him, and I love a man who stands ten toes down and doesn’t care what anyone has to say about it.

The push and pull between their desires? Whew. That tension was everything and definitely one of my favorite parts of the story.

Good, but it felt rushed

I really enjoyed the book and the plot, but it felt like the pacing was off. It was a nice slow burn for the first 110 pages and then it felt like everything was crammed to get the HEA in like 30 pages. But overall, a good read.

Uhmmm…

This book was a very, very slow burn. When it did pick up, it was over. The chapters were redundant and the back and forth between Jameer and Grayson became a little much. I have enjoyed other books by this author, but this one was just ok.

the unexpected

This story shows that it takes a real man to understand and to put what he wants out there. But let you choose if you are ready. Women we do have to settle there is someone who will love like you are.

SWEET

I loved this sweet and slow burn. Jameel is so liveable and sweet. Grayson ex was a a cheating punk. I’m glad Grayson found someone despite her uncomfortable issues.I’m glad Thayer got their happy ending.

It was ok….

This was an ok story. It didn’t flow and even though I love a slow burn, this wasn’t that. It wasn’t well put together and it rushed at the end. For 80% of the book it was just a lot of back-and-forth and fluff.

Okay, but rushed

Slow burn, then everything happened in the last 10 pages. The beginning had some drama, but that quickly fizzled out.
