Eulogia

Rate this book
An unflinching and viciously intimate portrait of obsession between a heiress and a corrupt, calculating playboy. Set in the darkest corners of elite old money tradition, this novel is a decadent descent into privilege, control, and the brutality of intimacy.

Wealth is power. Power is control. And at Eulogia, control is everything.

Hidden in the forests of upstate New York, Eulogia Academy is where America’s most elite sons and daughters are groomed to inherit the world. But beneath the marble halls and candlelit chapels lies something far older—and far more dangerous—than privilege.

When Martine Huntington-Russell arrives for the Fall term, she doesn’t expect to fall for Hayden Herron, the cold, brilliant member of the Brotherhood of Death—a secret society whose influence reaches beyond politics, wealth, and morality itself. Their love is forbidden, intoxicating, and bound by secrets that could ruin them both.

Because at Eulogia, devotion comes at a price. And some vows can never be undone.

A dark academia romance drenched in opulence, obsession, and betrayal, Eulogia invites you into a world where legacy is lethal—and love is the most dangerous ritual of all.

5 star read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eulogia is Sisy Rich’s new novel releasing December 20th.

Like her name, Sisy Rich’s characters and the world they live in are exactly that - rich. A secret society set in a world of wealth and corruption upends and rules the FMC’s entire life. Martine learns to survive in a bubble of Hayden’s making, where all she knows is the push and pull of the storm that is Hayden Herron, and the life he allows her to live. Money, lies, murder and power are at the forefront of this book. Sisy Rich has a powerful way of building a world that you get lost in, and creating a romance that is dirty and intense beyond comprehension. Corruption is high. Spice level is higher. This is the type of book that you devour, and stays in your thoughts while you’re trying to sleep at night.

4.5 ⭐️

this book made me understand how people end up with stockholm syndrome because hayden herron had me giggling and kicking my feet no matter how deranged he was being 🤭🫣

hayden is definitely dark, twisted, and morally grey; but has the deepest obsession with martine no matter how much he doesn’t want to. he will do anything and everything to protect and own her.

martine is left with nothing but hayden to cling to and has to decide if being his is worth her submission and devotion.

adding book 2 to the tbr immediately 🙂‍↕️

DNF at 50ish%

My first DNF 😳. Now I want to balance being respectful because at the end of the day this is someone’s work and needing to stay within my values and being honest/transparent in sharing my experience…

That being said! Ultimately, my experience can be summed up to being marketed an experience and feeling an entirely different one..this had been marketed as a “pitch black” and “5 🌶️ spice” dark romance book- and THATS WHAT HOOKED ME, cause say less I’m there. However, while I had the privilege of being able to ARC read this- I noticed very quickly that I wasn’t getting either of those experiences PER MY DEFINITION OF DARK ROMANCE AND 5 🌶️ SPICE!

For me there were several plot inconsistencies that really threw me out of the story (timelines not matching, dialogue inconsistent despite that it was the SAME scene different POV, etc.) and left me questioning more and confused about what was going on to stay with it..this story also reminded me too much of the LORDS series without distinguishing itself. I’m all for stories being inspired but this one felt a little too on the nose for me? 😣 as for the spice…I recall the book being 25 or so ish chapters and the first spice scene being at like chapter 12? So definitely not 5 🌶️ PER MY RATING SYSTEM 🥺 and the characters just didn’t hook me in…Hayden felt very stereotypical of a lot of dark romance BF’s which is fine but nothing that stuck out as intriguing and Martine felt all over the place from one chapter to the next that I couldn’t get a real feel for who she was.

I hope this book finds its audience as im sure there will be people whom this book IS FOR 🩵 and would love the mess out of it!

This is a 6 star read! The world building in this books is absolutely breathtaking! Sisy was not kidding when she said you are dropped in the middle of this world and no one owes you a single explanation about it! Now Hayden Herron…. Wow wow wow he has truly been one of the most well written yet fucked in the head MMC I have read in a very very long time. The writing captures you to where you are along side our FMC Martine and you are ready to follow the orders this man gives. Our angel Martine, I truly grew such a love for her and felt like I established such a good friendship with her because she would let us in and give us some background where others wouldn’t indulge, but at the same time we only could know what she knew and at times it felt like we were her!

Spice is truly sooo good and well written you can tell there was research done into some of the kinks that are explored and they weren’t written just to be written.

The plot kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I won’t lie and sometimes I skim books in between dialogue because I’m not obsessed but this book I devoured every single line, every spoken word, everything I WAS EATING THIS UP.

If you are looking for a book where from page 1 you are hooked, where the world and characters are cut throat and you can feel the tension as you read along, where you never fully get the answers you crave because THESE PEOPLE DO NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING but you are ok with it and want more of them ASAP. Then this is the book for you. I can’t wait for the world to dive into this dark corner of the universe and I am so thankful to Sisy and Courtney for allowing me to take a trip early to fall in love with this universe!!!!

Welcome to Eulogia college, where secret societies, power, money, secrets and betrayal is all around. You must swear your life to them to become untouchable.. as long as you follow the rules of the game. Is obsession and control another form of love and care? You get to decide. A dark Ivy League romance that pushes you to the edge only to be begging for more.

SPOILERS❤️‍🔥

You follow Martine and Hayden after her family gets murdered and he kidnaps her because he is OBSESSED WITH HER!! (like for years) and wants to full own her, the spice is DARK! He is a morally grey MMC that is DARK, sick and twisted and gets off on it. He wants her messy, broken and begging for more. You see her battle between giving in and keeping her pride. You see how the elite brotherhood works and it was SO INTERESTING! This is my first ever dark academia book and i ate it up! It goes go in between time lines and is book 1 in the series so there are going to be unanswered questions!!

Five stars wasn’t enough. I’m so obsessed and will be reading it again. The dynamic between Hayden and Martine is yummy and toe curling. I’m here for all the dirty smut and the “touch her you die” vibes.

It’s giving a darker and more deranged Killian Carson👀. This book was dark (more like pitch black), deranged, nasty, dirty, and absolutely diabolical…and I ate it upppp. If you’re looking for a mild dark romance, this is not it lol. The spice is at the forefront and it is SMUTTYYYYY so please read your trigger warnings. Hayden is a morally black, obsessive, manipulative, controlling sociopath and he not only claims Martine, but he doesn’t give her the choice to refuse. This story explores themes of power play, female rage, obsession, violence, authority, control, and overall a hell of a spicy time.

Eulogia is set at Eulogia Academy, an elite and secretive institution where wealth, influence, and hidden societies shape the students’ lives. The story centers on Martine, a wealthy heiress whose privileged world conceals intense power struggles and dangerous secrets. Martine arrives at Eulogia Academy with expectations shaped by wealth and status, but soon discovers the school’s underlying corruption and the extent of its secret societies. She becomes entangled with Hayden, whose allure masks danger, pushing their relationship into obsession, power plays, and emotional turmoil.

This story combines dark romance with suspense tied to class privilege, secrecy, betrayal, and control. Especially as Martine must decide how far she’ll go in a world that rewards power at great personal cost.

Overall, I enjoyed the story but wished we got more of the mystery earlier on. I felt like Martine didn’t get as much character development as I would have wanted, and of course I’d of loved to dive deeper into Hayden’s lineage and what happened to his parents. The plot twist did hit for me, but I wanted to see more done with it, although there will be more coming in book 2 I’m sure. I want to learn more about the Bonesman so I can feel more terrified of them, if that makes sense?

I am foaming at the mouth for more Ford and Dale!!! Also I’m so intrigued with Archie👀. There’s a ton of ways the plot can go from here and I’m excited to see what happens.

4 stars. A strong debut with a lot of promise and room to grow.

Eulogia is a dark academia romance steeped in obsession, secrecy, and elite power structures. For a debut novel, there is a lot to admire here. The atmosphere is moody and decadent, the stakes are high, and the author clearly has a strong vision for the world she’s building.

I enjoyed the story overall, though it did take me some time to get through. The pacing occasionally slowed, and there were a few plot threads that felt slightly tangled, especially when it came to timelines and how certain events lined up. At moments, I found myself a bit confused about when things were happening and how certain pieces fit together.

That said, the darker elements and spice worked for me. I didn’t have an issue with how far the book went tonally, and the intensity felt intentional. I can see why this story will really resonate with readers who love secret societies, chosen girls, and morally gray power dynamics. It did remind me at times of the Lords series by Shantel Tessier, particularly in the structure of the society and its rituals, but I’m hopeful that future books will continue to carve out an even more distinct identity.

What stands out most is the potential. This feels like the foundation of something much bigger, and I’m genuinely curious to see where the story goes next. I’ll absolutely be picking up book two to see how the world expands and whether some of the lingering questions are answered.

A solid, ambitious debut with dark academia vibes and a lot of room to grow. I’m intrigued to see what comes next.

I ate this book up. The plot was interesting at like 5% in and I was consumed. I really like that the books are set in the 90s. I think it's unique and takes out a lot of the technology aspect of later decades allowing you to really focus on the plot of this secret society. This is dark academia however this particular book did not take place much at college however I do think others in the series will have more of the college in the plot. Hayden is seriously unhinged and I would really love to know more about his past and what happened with his parents-it seems like it's related to the secret society. Martine was a well developed FMC-spoiled bratty rich girl who is looking for someone to tame her deep down. The spice is 🔥: dom/sub, bondage, punishment, degradation. This is definitely not beginner level spice. The chemistry was also really great between the characters. I found the plot interesting as well as the plot twists. I am super excited for book two because I really like Dale and am looking forward to knowing more about her. If you like the L.O.R.D.S. Series (Shantel Tessier) this series is also for you.

Eulogia is an atmospheric, character-driven dark romance that had me hooked from the start. The relationship between Martine and Hayden is layered with tension, power struggles, and moments of vulnerability that feel both intimate and dangerous. Hayden’s internal battle is written so well, and Martine’s resilience adds real depth to their dynamic.

The brotherhood’s presence creates a chilling backdrop, making every scene feel like it’s happening under a quiet threat. Dale’s POV was an unexpected highlight, expanding the world and raising the emotional stakes even more.

This book is haunting, slow-burn in all the right ways, and beautifully sets up the next installment. I cannot wait for book two.

This was amazing. From the start, I couldn't put it down. You had mystery, spice, a strong male character that dominated and a mfc that was a difiant as ever. Most mfc tend to give up half way through but not Martine.
So you have a secret society amongst the school Eulogia. Of course male dominated and women as pawns. However, this isn't the mmc saving her from a horrible life, there was so much more to it. the plot was well thought out and could not put it down. Im over here like dont worry Hayden ill help you figure this out. lol
I want more... I need more!
this is border pitch black/dark romance so please read trigger warnings.
all around great book and 5/5 on the spicy rating!

Unfortunately, Eulogia just wasn’t the right fit for me, and I ended up DNF’ing around 18%.

I went in expecting something super dark and spicy, but the execution didn’t quite land for me. The writing style—particularly the run-on sentences—made it difficult for me to stay immersed in the story, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged. Ultimately, it pulled me out of the reading experience too much to continue.

I also think my expectations played a role. Based on the way this book was described, I anticipated a darker, more polished take, but for me it felt like a less effective version of a popular dark college/secret society romance book I've read.

:/ this could have been really entertaining but unfortunately there were just too many plot holes---*setting it in the 90s but then consistently saying something too modern.
*plot holes so wide you couldn't even get your bearings. can't grasp the timeline. It takes place in a matter of days by the authors standards but then she goes "it's been months" how? where? what? for who???
*inconsistent narration. too much going on behind the scenes for the main character to suddenly be like "surprise! this has been going on all along, or I did this 4 days ago! muahahaha"

Anyways it had everything ~spice~ wise that I wanted. Alas I yearn for it in a book that actually makes sense.

This is one of the spiciest and most unhinged books I've read this year, or maybe ever. It's basically a kidnapping romance with tons of bdsm, heavy on the sadism. It's an academic setting with a super rich high society backdrop and a secret society underbelly that's dark and twisted and ruthless. I had such a love hate relationship with our main characters, Martine and Hayden, but by the end I wanted to be Martine and be demon baby Hayden's little obedient sub.
If you like dark academia and secret societies and ALL THE SMUT, read this book immediately.

this book was…. crazy. it initially hooked me because of the gossip girl vibes because of rich elitist background but ultimately the plot was weak and kind of boring. the FMC watches her brothers get murdered in front of her but stops caring about it within 48 hours after she's taken by the MMC who is completely unhinged (in a dubious nonconsent, degradation/humiliation kind of way which felt very icky to me especially toward the end).

DNF 18%—I’m not one to rate low, but the writing is painfully amateur. I tried to give it a chance, but it was hard to get through. The run-on sentences make me think there may not have been an editor involved. Not a story for me.

6⭐️ Eulogia is a must-read!!! 🍏❤️‍🔥

Lethal and Utterly Addictive Descent Into Dark Academia to be Published December 20th!

Eulogia is the kind of novel that grabs you by the throat from page one and refuses to let go. It’s decadent, unhinged, and intoxicating in all the ways dark academia fans crave—but sharper, more vicious, and far more seductive than most entries in the genre dare to be.

From the moment our FMC Martine steps onto the page, you can feel the rot lurking beneath the marble. The author paints a world of old-money opulence so vivid it practically drips off the page—candlelit chapels, ancient rites, heirloom sins—but it’s the danger humming beneath it all that makes the story impossible to look away from.

And then there’s THE Hayden Herron. Cold. Brilliant. Corrupt in that mesmerizing, ruin-your-life kind of way. Every scene between Martine and Hayden crackles with a claustrophobic, forbidden tension that makes it clear their connection is both a love story and a slow-moving catastrophe.

The spice in Eulogia? Absolutely feral. It’s harsh, dangerous, and deliciously unhinged—the kind of tension-soaked heat that feels like a secret you shouldn’t be reading but physically can’t stop. Juicy, intense, and wicked in all the best ways.

This book is dark academia at its finest: vicious, atmospheric, and ruthless. It’s about obsession dressed in couture, legacy soaked in blood, and love that feels more like a ritual than a romance. If you want a story that will leave you breathless, haunted, and maybe a little complicit.

DARK ROMANCE GIRLIES TAP IN! This book had me in a chokehold! This was Cruel Intentions meets Skull & Bones Society and it was absolutely divine. She’s dirty, she’s spicy, and she’s everything your trigger warning heart could love! That being said ✨be sure to read those to make sure your comfortable with subject matter✨

You have a bratty FMC and a deranged MMC that makes Killian Carson seem normal 👀 let that sink in lol. And you get dual POV which is honestly my favorite bc there are so many different elements to this story that you need more than one POV to really bring things full circle. Run, don’t walk!!
