3.5⭐️ This fast-paced story had me cracking up! Jawan is such a hothead, but he fell for Tiomi and baby girl so quickly and I was here for it because Romeo was not it. I liked the drama, the way that Jawan loved baby girl and the way he made sure to lock Tiomi down. But I will say, the flow was a little chopped up, I couldn't tell how much time had passed by between some of the scenes. The ending has me eager to know what happened in Mexico and how Jawan will respond. On to book two!
The story was interesting. I was a little confused as to where Shantel came from because in the beginning Ms. Cheryl’s daughter’s name was Cheyanne. I am a person that pays attention to details and I went back to read the beginning chapters to make sure I didn’t miss Shantel, but she wasn’t there.
Three stars because I did indeed enjoy some of the storyline. However it was still such a hard read for me. The book was set up more as a narration so reading it sounded more like the characters were talking at you rather than you reading a book. Not my cup of tea. I think there was some background missing and some underdevelopment of the characters themselves as well. I still don’t understand the plot .. I won’t be reading part 2 but I won’t suggest other readers shy away from it .
Please let the reader know its not a completed book before purchase. If I knew it was a cliffhanger, I wouldn't have not purchased. You need better character development. Don't use the same language, character arc for all your characters.
The storyline itself was good but it had a lot going on. Both characters were a bit dramatic with their behavior towards each other and overreacted with certain situations. I started out liking Tiomi but she eventually started getting on my nerves seemingly being sneaky. Jawan was always over the top but he eventually calmed down. I didn’t get the point of taking strait laced Darren with them everywhere they went. And the story kind of felt incomplete because we never learned why Terrance was an enemy or what happened to him, whether or not Cheyenne or Shantel (because her name kept changing) ever left Shad alone and honestly what was the purpose of Nia and what happened to Dirk. Overall the story was ok but I’ve read books by this author before and could definitely tell this was one of her earlier books because she’s definitely gotten better and is now one of my go to authors.
Awww, Shooot, that was that ghetto love at its finest!
I guess they both knew their roles cause they recognized each other from jump. All it took was one look.
"I see you looking like my new boo🤷🏾♀️". Talk about an insta family!
Jawan was a whole fool about his! That man unalived the Uber driver for picking her up 🤦🏾♀️! Thats when she knew she'd messed up!
I low-key see why her ex, Romeo, called her out her name at the club. Not soon after the Uber driver situation Tiomi was in another 🥷's face talking bout she on a date! Then, still grinning in another's later in GRANNY'S FACE no less 🤷🏾♀️ talking bout, he was so fine she was stunned to silence! #RachetBehavio
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶
I said what I said! As always: don't take my word for it. Read the book, form your own opinions, and support your authors!
This was such great read!!!… The way Tiomi woke Jawan talking about her dream of him cheating and going into labor had me just cackling!!!… Jawan was a mess, but he stood on business about his family!!!… His babies loved the mess out of him, but the side eye he kept saying they gave him when he talked about Tiomi!!!… That brother in law of his was too funny with his weak stomach!!!…Showing up on a crime scene puking and covering his eyes!!!… Tiomi was a great fit for Jawan, but she was so blind to the mess going on around them!!!…I was glad she finally wised up and pulled herself together!!!… Now that Shad, baby he was truly out her for the streets and did not hide it at all!!!…You just didn’t know what was going to come out his mouth or where he was laying his head!!!…
Okay this was a pretty good read and my first read from this author. Jawan’s ass was funny as hell and crazy as hell and I probably would’ve be afraid of him after he killed the damn Uber driver for nothing, the man was literally doing his job. I loved how he loved him some Tio though and his and Rae’s bond was the cutest. Nia should’ve been fired she dong too damn much for me. I’ll definitely read part two I’m anxious to see how it unfolds.
Side Note: I’m not understanding how the author just switched Tio’s BF name from Cheyenne to Shantel. That bothered me every time I read Tel 🤦🏾♀️ I can’t believe the editor didn’t catch it either. Still a good read and I’m looking forward to part two.
Jawan (Grim) and Tiomi (Tio) are a match made in heaven! They are so toxic and loving to each other lol. Their love story came out of left field, but they were just what each other needed. Tio got a father for Rae Rae and the plethora of extra kids that came from their union. I didn’t like how RJ and those women of Grim’s acted. So many people got in the mix who didn’t need to because of RJ! Jealous and money hungry smh. I liked how Star and Darren came back home and how Shad & Grim actually let Darren hang with them. They acted like they could not stand him, but he was always there for them. Shad and Chy are just as toxic, but they are perfect for each other.
I’m giving this book three stars. This read for me was kind of hard to read. I felt lost sometimes when reading and it was hard to keep track of what was going on, especially when character names were dropped and there was no prior history of this character being mentioned. I wish there was more history of these characters and their lives. I will say in the beginning I liked how Jawan knew he wanted Tiomi. I also liked how Tiomi didn’t let her child’s father run all over her. This wasn’t the read for me but it can be for another reader.
I love how demanding, tender and loving Jawan was with Tiomi and Rae. The moment he had when he first held Rae melted my heart. Tiomi said she knew her worth but she acts so insecure and she hardheaded as hell. I don’t understand why she withholds information. Made she will get it together in book 2. In the beginning of the book Tiomi’s best friend name was Cheyenne, then it became Shantel. This was a good read!
This read was okay. I could tell its a re-release which I wish was included in the synopsis. I like this author and the writing style in this book doesn’t match her more recent work. The storyline was choppy and there were many editing errors (cheyenne randomly became shantel). There was some drama that keeps your interest but the plot issues kind of overshadowed it.
My fav type of read…Strong protective man with no filter that’s all about his family!!! Tiomi is starting to be unlikable, like she doesn’t realize or appreciate what she has. Romeo and Turbo is going to get her caught up and can’t wait for Japan/Grim to show out!!
Baby Jawan was certified crazy! Baby you couldn’t look at Tio or he was about to put a hot one in you. Tiomi was such a sweetheart, but she was with the mess too. Jawan said this is my baby and I don’t care what you say and I definitely don’t care about ya baby daddy. Chy and Shad is who I need a story on.
The book is good but dammit Tio stand the fk up. She had no backbone when it came to Grim and I hated that lol. I get the whole my husband is the head and I need to follow his lead but sex is not the cure all. I wanted her to put her foot down so bad and stop crying at everything and stop being so damn naive when it came to these niggas.
I've never read anything from this Author but baby I can't wait for part 2. Grim is a whole mess and Tiomi don't play about her husband. Nia is hard headed and she ain't gonna be satisfied till Tiomi give her the beat down. This was a great read.
Oh this book was too good. Nia better go have a seat. She keeps pushing her luck. Grim is truly crazy, but he and Shad both had me laughing. Granny was a mess too!! Tiomi had her moments too but she was not to be tested! I can’t wait until book 2 drops!!
Great way to debut! This book was everything! I love they way JJ and Tio love each other...don't play with them! I can't wait until part 2..please don't make us wait too long😖😖😖
This was better than I expected. I can't wait to read part 2! I would've liked to get more background on Nia and the Terrance dude because something is up with them. I don't trust that Nia chick at all.
This book was so damn good! I think Grim is EVERY woman’s dream bae cause I know he’s mine! I wanted Tiomi to beat Nias hoe ass so bad and I wonder if that as ole boy son coming for them! I can’t wait for part two!
A great read that I am loving every page of. From the beginning till that cliffhanger I couldn't put it down. With well developed characters that are likeable, and crazy. The drama has just begun and I need more of it. On to part two.
This was a great read the only thing that had me puzzled was how the best friend name go from Chy(Cheyenne), to Tel( Shantel)? But overall it was a good book, I look forward to part 2.
I feel like I read this before but I couldn’t stop reading once I stumbled on it again. Jawan and his take charge attitude locking Tio and Jarae down was classic alpha! Who doesn’t love a man like that? Can’t wait to get some answers in the finale!
This book was all I wanted. Jawan was crazy and had a temper and didn’t know what no meant. Tiomi didn’t play either when it came to her man. Granny Jawan grandma was outspoken as well. This book was good from beginning to end.
This is great! Japan knew that Tiomi was the one for him at first sight! I almost died when he had a key to her house and started claiming her baby! I knew he wasn't going anywhere then!!
This my first read by this author and I'm not disappointed. I feel in love with Jawan's instant bond with Jarae. He worked my nerves letting these females slide with the disrespect. Thanks for pointing me in the direction to your books.
Great book. Jawan didn’t play about Tiomi. I most definitely enjoyed this book. I loved how Jawan loved on Tiomi daughter like she was his own. He loved and she most definitely loved him.
Yooo WTFH?? Ramirez son name is behind that all day..Grim gotta be okay or Shad n Toi gonna make that city bleed red...What's up with that Nia chick?? Whoa I can't wait to see whats more to come!!
