I read this in two sittings, not surprising given it’s only 100 pages long. More like a long essay. A wonderful deep dive into Guy Clark’s first album. I’ve read Tamara Saviano’s book on Guy, Without Getting Killed Or Caught which this one makes a nice supplement to. Well researched, highly informative and I learned a few things as well. I’d love to see a similar treatment given to Texas Cookin’, the follow up to Old No. 1 as the former is my favorite of Guy’s albums.
