The Zanfretta Case: Chronicle of an Incredible True Story

In the night between Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 of December 1978, the security guard Pier Fortunato Zanfretta of the Institute of Private Security Val Bisagno in Genoa, Italy, was found in a state of shock and terror-stricken near the country house Casa Nostra (Our House) placed in Marzano of Torriglia, a village up in the hills of Genoa. When he woke up, Zanfretta told shaking that he saw “a very big alien, three meters (118.11 inches) tall, with a fat and corrugated gray skin, like it was a flabby suit,” who few minutes later fly away “aboard a giant bright light triangular shaped, with small little lights of different colors in the upper side.” During regressive hypnosis, the night adventure was borne out by the man, and he told was dragged inside the “spaceship” where four monstrous aliens examined him in great details. An investigation by Carabinieri, the Italian military police, verified that 52 people saw a very big flying bright saucer at that time in the Torriglia sky. Besides, in the meadow where the others’ security guards found Zanfretta, Carabinieri found out a three meters mark, horseshoe shaped. The people were still thinking to that mysterious encounter of the third kind, that twenty days later it happened again. This time Carabinieri found out footprints 50 centimeters long (19.69 inches) near the security guard’s car. The Zanfretta case was just beginning.

Nella notte tra il 6 e il 7 dicembre 1978, la guardia giurata Pier Fortunato Zanfretta venne ritrovata in stato di shock nei pressi di una villa isolata, sull’Appennino ligure. Quando riprese conoscenza, parlò di un essere alto 3 metri, dalla pelle grigia e ondulata, svanito in una luce triangolare colma di luci colorate. Sotto ipnosi raccontò di essere stato trascinato a bordo di un’astronave, dove venne esaminato da creature mostruose. I Carabinieri aprirono un’indagine: 52 testimoni dissero di aver visto quella notte un enorme oggetto luminoso sopra Torriglia. Sul prato venne trovata un’inspiegabile impronta a forma di ferro di cavallo. Venti giorni dopo, tutto si ripeté e furono rinvenute orme lunghe oltre 50 cm accanto alla sua auto.

C’è una nebbia che non si è mai diradata sulle alture di Torriglia: Rino Di Stefano ci entra con rispetto, con lentezza, con la consapevolezza che il mistero non vuole essere spiegato, vuole essere ascoltato.
Il Caso Zanfretta è più di un’indagine su un rapimento alieno: è il racconto di un uomo che ha visto l’invisibile, e non è più tornato davvero indietro.

Chiedersi se sia vero o no è lecito. Peccato che il mondo in cui viviamo tratta il "fenomeno extraterrestre" come fenomeno da baraccone con i complimenti della popolazione che riesce a credere o ad interessarsi solamente in tutto ciò che i mass media propinano come vero o verosimile.
Vicenda triste ed alquanto turbante per il protagonista che tutto è meno che un visionario. Una cosa è certa: se crediamo di essere soli nell'universo siamo davvero presuntuosi, ma vero è, anche, che questa è una "qualità" che non manca all'uomo moderno. Misterioso e giornalistico. Riflessioni in corso.
