After Earth merged with the magical world of Tannoris, David never thought he would get to leave the city again. People without an assigned Class like him don’t survive in the Wilds—monsters, dungeons, and rogue magic see to that.
But when a mysterious benefactor reveals himself, David discovers he isn’t Classless at all. He’s a Frontier Summoner—a rare Class that calls powerful creatures to his side, strengthens them with unique buffs, and wields the survival skills needed to carve a path beyond the safe zones.
Now, a new and magical world lies at David's feet. Enchanting companions wait to join his adventuring party, and he must navigate the intricacies of their magical cultures. From the rustic fields of Gladdenfield Outpost to the deepest and darkest hidden dungeons, the Frontier Summoner will rise!
This box set contains the complete Frontier Summoner series, consisting of book 1 - 9.
To be truthful I skimmed most of this book due to reasons listed below. I generally don't like to give low scores but I cannot in good faith go higher.
There are minor continuity errors such as during him cutting down a tree where the tree crashes to the ground and the commotion brings Diane out and right after they finish talking he slams the axe into the tree causing a thunderous crack and toppling it. That's only one of many instances that don't completely line up as if the authors got ADHD or something. A bigger error is in the first book shaking a foxkins hand is akin to proposing but in the second book he just shakes a female foxkins hand with zero comment on that.
They do a pet peeve of mine where they pick the most obscure words when using a thesaurus. Instead of "when the market thronged busiest" just say "when the market was busiest." You're being pretentious by making a reader look up such uncommon words just so you can feel smarter.
It is incredibly bogged down in pointless detail and repetition. There are often entire sections of them just cooking and/or eating, they mention what it is, how its made, and how amazing it is in so much depth you'd think the book was about a chef. Other examples are the full alchemical processes or even the entire process of building a workshop.
The writing often just feels kinda weird. Kinda like when someone is writing outside of there first language where its not wrong but doesn't quite feel natural.
The sex scenes were also not written too well. I've never had to skip them before but I just can't get into them.
The Frontier Summoner is a fantasy that will keep you entertained from the first page to the last. It will bring emotional highs and lows that entrances you to the end. The characters are so full of life and the storyline is consistent with all that they go through and get into. It is a fantasizing look at what would happen if two worlds would mesh together, one magic and one not. The story is captivating, I enjoyed it from start to finish. If you love great fantasy, you will want to read this one.
Well, David is just not cutout to be in the city, but luckily, Mr.Caldwell noticed he had Potential. Potential you ask? For what?. Well, he has a.hidden talent and just needs magic to bring it out. Read and follow the story.
