Addicted to his bite. Really? She never once begs for this man’s bite. Ever. 😆😆🥹😆
Interesting plot in theory but the execution was lacking.
So much telling.
Describing but disjointed.
Time or scene jumps were messy-I would have to read something over again to see if I missed the transition only to realize there was none.
It was like these two authors were patchworking a quilt together but in different colors and patterns. Cramming it all in to force it to work when it doesn’t.
There should have been a bit more world building . More dialogue among the characters. Parts were mansplained at times and then other parts we are left as a reader never know what when where why.
I always feel like fantasy books require 3rd person writing bc normally there is a lot to tell or explain to the reader. This is a book where it really needed to be 3rd person.
I don’t know why people get obsessed w 1st POV. It can ruin a book when there is so much world building and telling. As it did here.

Spice was weird, not really that good and just read the same way each time minus the first two times.
One is a grape scene by the MMC to the fmc-but I honestly had no clue that had happened. 🫠 So maybe that’s good if you happen upon this book and don’t want to read that sort of crap.
The second time they hook up it’s consensual from that point onwards. But none of it was sexy. Lots of screaming, slamming and cramming with her leg being constantly tossed over his shoulder. Oy, ladies, come up with another position. No real foreplay or build up to the deed.
And at times weirdly placed within the story. One time they hooked up after a battle. Like right after. She didn’t even care about her son or her injured people. She was gonna ride that donkey after her concussion. Overall it was open door spice but not really that interesting not super descriptive. Not paced well. It’s just P to V. 🤷🏻♀️
Plot holes. Just. Plot holes. Gaping plot holes.
They had no final battle with the bad lady, so we have no clue if this couple has a HEA. 🤷🏻♀️Like. wtf happened to the Matriarch and the fading Vrakken? No one knows. We def don’t.

Standalone but felt unfinished.
Over all the plot and story drew me in and kept me here but I also found this was overwritten and the relationship and sex bt the two characters wasn’t really sexy. There was a ton of the same idea or words used-as the authors tried to build up something but instead it just fell flat bc they reused it over and over.
For ex-a character would realize something and the authors would make it sound earth shattering. Only to then two chapters later have something happen and yet again it is described as a big ass deal.
And then AGAIN something profound would occur and the authors would tell us HOW PROFOUND IT WAS. And many times things we already thought had occured get repeated again.
Like the MMC recognizing his need to protect his son instead of take him to the bad guy. That realization gets repeated multiple times over.
Sis. We get it. Readers aren’t dumb.
Word of the book-BIBLICAL. Used 6 times.

Elza and Eoin
Elza and Eoin. Elza is a human slave who has a strange ability to heal her body of the wounds given by her captors.
There is SA and violence in this story, check your triggers.
Eoin is thrown into a cell, wounded. They chain Elza there and cut her dropping her blood onto him. The effect is violent, he heals but looses the control, lack of emotion he has as an enforcer. He assaults her and drinks from her. After his strength is returned and he pushes the emotion into a locked vault in his mind. He escapes leaving her behind.
5 years later his matriarch tells him the anomaly, Elza, survived and has a child. She calls it the cure to the fading which is destroying their race. He is told to kill Elza and capture the boy so they can study and find the cure, since the boy is healthy. She has spies.
Eoin is captured by Elza and her fellow survivors. During his time in the cell he begins to change, developing feelings instead of his normal unfeeling logic.
You need to read the book to find out the rest of the story to their HEA.

This is a rape fantasy dressed up as some sort of soul bond. And not even a fantasy that a woman might have, 100% the he-man version of I own you. The author writes the two main characters as if they are the two most connected beings in the world and perfect for each other. They have incandescent sex that apparently makes both of them glow on the regular, but the first time was definitely non-consensual and the second time was awfully gray as well. There are a whole lot of other inconsistencies in this book namely the fact that she enjoys it when he goes through her cervix??? This has got to be written by a man because any woman would know how painful that is. The rest of the book also sounds like it was written by a man on a power trip. Also, the title just makes me mad because it literally states that she is addicted to his bite and really nothing further could be true because he literally bites her once non-consensually in the beginning of the book and never again.

Lazy
Biblical, biblical rage, a phrase penned half a dozen times in this book. A cheap and hollow phrase that violates this world. The 13 or the Moon Goddess that are mentioned in this world in prior books do not correlate with this lazy wording. Quranical rage, Toranical rage, Book of Mormonical rage, a synonym of what is explained. A dusty book that has no relevance to this reality finds it's thread bare grasp into a different realm. Perhaps the author is lazy, perhaps it is an AI oversight. But the persistent use of a theological text as an adjective that has no relevance to the universe that it pertains to, is an utter irritation. The book was decent however tainted irrevocably by incongruent discrptpory.

Another enjoyable story that kept me entertained till the end. This is a great joint venture. It's a well written story with wonderful characters; Elza our human slave who has the ability to heal fast was thrown in a slave cell after being whipped for a chip in a water basin and Eion a Vrakken Enforcer who was captured and expiring are thrown together in a cell were engaging to invest in their romantic story set in the Protheka world. There's twist and turns, steamy romance and action in this enjoyable copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.

Wanted to like it but
Blatant AI in the sentence structure and flow. Characters feel shallow. Starts off with the MMC graping the FMC, body betrayal, etc.
The blurb makes no sense and has little relation to what happens in the story. Some threads left undone. Continuity errors aren't as egregious as some other books but still had me thinking "when did that happen" several times. Scenes shift mid chapter, mid paragraph and are suddenly later? I guess? It's not laod out clearly.
Kind of a frustrating read over all.

Heart warming story
It was heartwarming watching Eloie's evolution from a cold unfeeling monster into a warm, loving mate for Elza. Nice story.
