This book had so many things just wrong with it. I'll start with some obvious points. When your investigating a murder and you go to the place of business where the victim worked, in this case the Danny guy, your going to get names and alibis for all his co workers. Why was this not done in the first place. Makes Spencer's policing look like a Mayberry sheriff. Not at all like someone who once worked for the FBI. Another thing I would have loved to see was her returning to the parents and letting them know she found justice for their daughter and maybe apologize for accusing or thinking of the dad as a strong suspect. This wasn't Spencer's finest case and was certainly very dislikable at times. If these last couple of books are any indication how the rest are going to go then I should probably go ahead and call it quits with this series. If your just bored and need something to read this book is doable but otherwise I would skip and find something more interesting
Seems a dismembered body was found in the woods. Then another body is found dumped elsewhere. Separate cases and there is no mention of the first one until the end of this installment thus leading to book 18. The second body is quickly identified and her life dissected. Very little to go on and all avenues seem to be investigated when a bit of evidence leads back to the beginning ( which to me was really investigated but glossed over).
Also boyfriend Ryker seems to be hovering, concerned for her safety. What boyfriend gets deputized to come along for protection? Shouldn't Sheriff Spencer pair up with a male deputy instead of her female undersheriff- sometimes, a bit of brute strength doesn't hurt where needed.
Tears of the Falls(A Sweetwater Falls Mystery Book 17)
OMG!!!!!!!!This book was quite disturbing and crazy. First Spencer and her team are called to the woods, because a desecrated body was found. As the team is working on that, they get another call about another body. They managed to solve the second murder, but are still working on the first one. I can't wait to read the next book.
Sheriff's department is busy. First the blue card murder. Second a young lady that gives her heart to the community of Sweetwater Falls turns up dead. Interview after interview but nothing. Finally a break, she had a boyfriend. Now to find him but he's missing. This is not your I know who did it on page 5 who did it. Great job. Thank you.
More horror - in the form of a disarticulated homicide victim - fills up Spenser’s law enforcement plate - and then another homicide occurs, with a completely different modus operandi.
