(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)

2.75*

I'd have preferred if the 'romance' was mostly skipped and instead of the 'tell' stuff in the epilogue, the book spanned an entire year and we got to be shown what happened. I was more interested in the missing egg / dragons plot than reading the sex scenes, that kept IMHO distracting them from rescuing the egg, so I skimmed all of those. I'm not a prude, my priorities would just be focused on rescuing the egg not jumping someone I just met. Them hooking up after the kid was rescued and they were hunting for the missing dragons, that would have been fine.

If you are more interested in the 'love' story, than the missing egg / dragons plot, then you'll probably enjoy this book.

First time read the author's work?: No

Will you be reading more?: Probably, I gave another book by then 4 stars.

Would you recommend?: Maybe.

------------
How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author)
4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author).
3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series)
or
3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)

All of the above scores means I would recommend them!
-
2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.)
1* = Disliked

Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)

3.75 steamy dragon stars ⭐⭐⭐✨🔥🐲

Slow burn romance in Fast and Furious like story with some dragons? Of course I've to read it! Saving the last Heir was a pretty good book that kept mostly of its promises. But I didn't really felt the grumpy X sunshine trope and the prologue was too rush for me, breaking all the story potential in just one chapter.
Shyanne is a strong FMC like we love to follow. She isn't afraid to say what she thinks, she knows what she likes et don't excuse herself for being what she is. She survive in a masculine world thanks to her family, being her father or her teamworkers. But I still think that she lack a female image in her entourage.
Jackson is some way similar to Shyanne, in his habits to help everyone and sacrifice himself for his people. But it's what it happen when you're the alpha of shifter who are disappearing because of some sickness. Abd if it wasn't enough, his baby sister's egg was stealed and now the drake are using him.
His meeting with Shyanne wasn't just a miracle for saving his sister, it was a miracle too for both of them, to get help and stop sacrificing everything, to start living. Even if the romance is really slow burn, it's a little too slow until the middle of the book, the same as the story. Everything quickend with the spicy sex scene ans the start of the realisation about their own sentiments of love for each other
Saving the Last Heir is definitly a good book for thé one looking for a safe spicy HEA romance, with loveable characters (especially Bryn!) and an interesting universe.

Lindsey Devin's Saving the Last Heir was a high-action adventure with heists, shifters, the mafia, and a pair of fated mates. I liked Jackson and Shyanne. As the last alpha, Jackson is doing his best to take care of his pack, and Shyanne is doing the same thing for her neighbors with her neighborhood business. Their meet-cute was disastrous but exciting, and after everything gets cleared up, they realize that they're just what each other needs. I loved them together. The connection between them was charged and almost instantaneous. They make a cute couple. I loved how supportive and caring they were from the start.

The mystery surrounding the dragons was interesting. It was the event that caused a ripple of problems for Jackson. The main problem being the Anitoli crime family. It was problem after problem, and the pressure was intense. Joseph Anitoli is the root of all evil. I was waiting for him to get his just desserts. The story dragged a bit in the middle, but it quickly caught my attention again towards the end. A couple of my theories didn't pan out, but the twist was still good. I even got an HEA. Saving the Last Heir was a good read. I would recommend it to anyone who's seeking an action-adventure with a bit of romance.

If you like paranormal stories of any sort this one is just not to be missed. Everything is in one book from heat to melt a dragons scales to masterfully written suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat even when you think you know the outcome. Fierce and bloodthirsty battles that are more horrifying than any horror story ....Sweet and emotional moments that will bring tears to your eyes and laugh out loud moments in the midst of it all . Once you start you wont want to put it down so make sure you have time to enjoy it.

Really enjoyed this book!!

I love an author that puts a different twist on a book!! Just when you think you have everything figured out Jackson and Shyanne take their situation to a whole new level. Jackson’s sister egg has been stolen and her unborn life threatened and Jackson is forced to enter criminals territory to try and save her life, Shyanne refuses to let him attempt this alone as she fights for the innocent and people who have been wronged. Who knew a closeness would develop while fighting to survive. I really enjoyed this book definitely recommend reading this one!!

Despite this book's length, it was a relatively fast paced story. An interesting tale with great characters. It had plenty of action, romance, and the humour that I enjoy reading in any book. This was a one site read, I'm not good at putting down and picking up. I enjoy getting invested in the journey the characters have to take before they enjoy their Hea.

Action, Dragons, Family, Friends, and Romance

This book have a good blend of action, Romance and spice. Shyanne was pretty badass especially for a human woman in the world of shifters. The protectiveness in this book from Jackson for Shyanne wasn't over done like I've read in some books. The romance was kind of slowburn but it honestly perfectly fit considering the action among other things filled in the space between Romance and spice scenes perfectly.

I was intrigued from the first chapter

I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting from the beginning to the end. This is my first book I have read from Lindsey Devin and I plan I on reading more. The only negative was that I wish that she had written about the trip. Other than that what a great story

This DNF is alllll me and I actually think others would love this one. I don't want to get into it except to say that the dragon alpha promised on the cover is not the dragon alpha we get.

The woman mechanic (FMC) is wonderful though. Loved her. Except when she continually says things like, "[I'm] a tall woman..." She's only 5'7" chat 😭

This story is about Jackson and Shyanne. It has a great plot and I really liked the progress of the story line. There is a good pace throughout although it is a slow burn. It has a HEA so you do not need to wait. This is a paranormal romance

It was fast paced, a really good storyline, and the characters were well developed. It was great that it wasn't prolonged when Shyanne was introduced to shifters. The chemistry between the two was good too.
