Secret Deceptions: Amatore's Restaurant – Part One

The first seven sinful chapters from Amatore's Restaurant.
Explicit sexual content, suitable for adult readers only.

This book takes the reader on an atmospheric journey from Berlin to Venice, Marseilles and Amsterdam cleverly interweaving forbidden themes of seduction and deception. What are the characters' true motives? Are their feelings genuine or are they just playing seductive games? It soon becomes clear that nothing is as it seems.

Chapter 1: Audition

Cordelia, tired of playing the passive role, picks up a man at a bar in Berlin, takes him back to his hotel room and seduces him. Determined to take the lead, by the end of the evening, she proves that she can take a dominant role.

Chapter 2: The Venetian

Frustrated with her life in Venice, Chiara attempts to show her girlfriend, Lucia, just what her cheating husband is capable of. Her plan of seduction works, and Lucia can no longer deny the truth. But will she react in the way Chiara hopes?

Chapter 3: Narcissus Through the Window

One afternoon, while rehearsing her striptease in front of the mirror, Emily discovers she has an unwelcome spectator. Accustomed to paying audiences only, she vents her anger by hurling a plant pot at the onlooker.

Chapter 4: Blind Man's Bluff

Pierre is amazed when an Algerian girl and her elderly blind companion arrive at the restaurant. Thinking back to the time in Marseilles when, after a successful drugs deal, he attempts to trick his young companion, only to discover later he is the one who has been well and truly duped.

Chapter 5: The Waitress's Bus Stop

Freya is biding her time in Amsterdam, unsure of what to do next, when she is seduced by Ana, a German actress she meets in a café. But there is something strange about something she's hiding about her past.

Chapter 6: Bodywork

Jane takes her husband's beloved car for an emergency repair and meets up with a man who reminds her of her past. She readily submits to his possessive demands, finding sexual fulfilment through his aggressive and controlling personality. It's only when she returns home and reads the national newspaper that she discovers her lucky escape.

Chapter 7: Reflections on a Journey

One Wednesday afternoon, the outwardly prim and proper Miss Gray meets an elusive and handsome stranger on her regular train journey. As she sheds her inhibitions, little does she realise how her life will be changed.

“Do not be mislead by the languorous opening to the incredibly sexy Amatore's Restaurant… In this graphic story, there are multiple explicit sexual liaisons and drifting sexual explorations or relationships that are lesbian, heterosexual, and likely non-binary. If you like ensemble character literary erotica you will love this book.” RioMaje

“Secret Deceptions is an entertaining, thought provoking, sensual read from an author who has a deep empathy with his subject matter and that empathy is well conveyed to the reader.” Ms Peartree

“[Sam Dearman] is the best of the best! If you haven't read any of his/her books than you are truly missing out!!! This one is a great steamy read that leaves you guessing every turn, but never being right. (HA!) Loved it!” S E Isaac

“Oh my, what a steamy little book! And having lived and travelled to many of the cities mentioned in the book (I love Berlin!), I really appreciated the author's ability to bring the settings to life, triggering

Secret Deceptions explores incidents in the lives of several characters who are associated with a theater company or Amatore's restaurant. The lives of these characters are explored in self-contained chapter-length stories, set in England and several other European countries. The members of the theater company are attending a dinner and reception at the said restaurant, thus bringing together the characters from the stories. Each story has an erotic element. A couple have an interesting twist. When doing flashbacks, the writing changes from third person to first person without much warning. I found this jarring until I figured out what was happening. A scene break or perhaps the calendar date of the flashback would be helpful to set the flashbacks apart from the main narrative.

My favorite story in the group concerns Freya, a young woman adrift in Amsterdam who meets an intriguing woman at a cafe. Despite her initial reservations, Freya develops a relationship with the mysterious German actress. The story of the slowly building seduction is compelling.

This is the first novel in a series. I'm hoping subsequent entries in the series explore the lives of other characters and then we get to see how all these people act together at the dinner. Recommending for anyone who enjoys personal dramas with an erotic element.

Pretty sexy!

Closer to an anthology than a traditional novel, this book follows an ensemble of protagonists through several stories about their sexual escapades. Like most anthologies, there's a disparity of quality between the stories. The first three aren't very good at all. They're cheesy in a stupid, boring way. The fourth has a nice twist. The fifth chapter is fantastic and pretty much the whole reason I'm recommending the book. It's a very tender and passionate tale with a nice sprinkling of eroticism on top. The last two are pretty good, too.

Overall, I do recommend this book to the erotically-minded. Aside from a few confusing tense changes and punctuation errors, it's polished, and, aside from a few corny scenes, pretty sexy, too.
