This was such an easy five stars for me and already one of my favourites this year. I read it in 2 days because I couldn’t put it down. 🩵

Brianna thinks she has her life exactly how she wants it. Successful. Independent. Safe. The twelve dates idea is so good. Some were awkward and some were just plain weird. Some were surprisingly sweet. There is always a twist. It slowly crumbles the walls Brianna had built around herself for a very private reason.

It made me smile, it made me emotional, and I definitely didn’t want it to end. I loved trying to piece everything together and looking for the clues and little plot twists.

I have very mixed feelings about this book.

What I liked:
I absolutely loved that the FMC can be clumsy during her dates. It makes her feel real and relatable. She’s not this perfectly smooth, untouchable woman, and that gives her charm. I could really connect with that side of her.

Although I hate Kevin as a guy name, the fact that he reads in the morning definitely gives him a point. Green flag. I can’t deny it.

I absolutely loved Javier, and the man who bought her dinner without expecting anything in return.

What I disliked:
She fell for the scam guy?! That really surprised me. They only went on two dates!

What frustrated me the most, though, was the double standard. She dates multiple men at the same time but still feels betrayed by Preston when she finds out he’s married. I understand being upset about unknowingly being “the other woman.” However, it was her reaction and internal thoughts that bothered me. Yes, Preston is cheating on his wife, and that is absolutely wrong. But the FMC was also seeing other men. So the fact that she gets mad because he’s with someone else, more than because he's married and cheats on his wife, feels a bit inconsistent. She, too, was dating around.

Another thing that bothered me was how angry she became when Kevin said goodbye and treated their relationship as something casual. Yet when she did the exact same thing to Javier, she acted as if he should automatically understand it was only casual. As she herself said earlier: they didn’t communicate it.

I also didn’t really relate to the way she talks about motherhood. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to carry your own child and build a family that way. But dismissing adoption as if it’s not a "real option" didn’t sit right with me. That perspective felt narrow and disappointing.

And being upset because Javier doesn’t tell his clients that he’s the owner? That felt odd. You can easily do your own research. He has every right to keep that information private, especially since he explained that people tend to treat him differently once they know about his occupation.

Overall, I liked certain elements, especially the clumsy, human side of the FMC, but the inconsistencies in her reactions made it hard for me to fully root for her.

There were so many things I loved about this book, but first and foremost, Brianna. She’s intelligent, ambitious, sassy and just the right amount of chaotic. A capable career woman who can implement complex software with ease… yet still can’t quite master walking gracefully through an airport. I instantly loved her.

The premise feels like a fresh twist on the traditional rom-com. After a devastating heartbreak, Brianna’s best friend Sara sets her a challenge: go on twelve dates to kick-start her love life again. The goal? Move on. Heal. And maybe — just maybe — find love.

What follows is Brianna’s uncertain, funny, occasionally disastrous journey into modern dating. Some of the men are… let’s say deeply unimpressive. But while she’s busy navigating awkward dinners and red flags, it becomes clear that someone important may have been closer than she realised all along.

What really elevates this story is Brianna’s vulnerability. Beneath her polished exterior is a woman carrying deep emotional wounds. She’s terrified that every new connection will end the same way her last relationship did. Her heartbreak runs deeper than a simple breakup, and the way the book explores her grief, self-esteem and sense of identity is really moving. There were moments I just wanted to reach into the pages and hug her.

Her support network — Sara, Evan, Beck and her cousin Lucas — shines throughout, grounding the story in friendship as much as romance.

And the ending? Amazing. Emotional, heartfelt, raw and then soft and hopeful in all the right ways. No spoilers, but it absolutely delivered.

Readers should be aware there are triggers relating to miscarriage and infertility. These themes are handled sensitively and are essential to Brianna’s character arc, but they do add emotional weight to the story.

Overall, this was a warm, witty, and emotionally layered romance with a heroine you can’t help but root for. A solid 4-star read for me.

This book is for everyone who’s ever had a cringeworthy first date. Or second date. Imagine twelve of them. That is Brianna’s challenge from her best friend. Worried that she has closed herself off from love after a horrible previous relationship, Brianna’s best friend, Sara, challenges Brianna to go on twelve dates. Just dates, nothing needs to happen, but she needs to put herself out there. Whether they happen in the wild or through a dating app, Brianna has to have twelve dates. Through these dates, Brianna starts to come back to life, even if some of the dates are complete disasters.

I loved Brianna. She was incredible at her job, smart and sassy, yet she had a unique talent for falling over the slightest thing. Some of the dates were easy to dismiss as red herrings, definitely not the man for our girl. Yet others felt right; it was hard to see how this would end, or even if it would. You could get an inkling of who was going to emerge as the victor, although I admit a couple of them were close until they weren’t.

I enjoyed the dates themselves. I also enjoyed spending time with Brianna, getting to know her and her past, as well as being invested in her future. Fair warning, there are a couple of heavy subjects discussed in this book. I recommend reading the trigger warnings first, as they can be delicate and upsetting for some people. I felt they were handled sensitively and with grace and care. I have not experienced either of the subjects, so I can’t say for certain. I didn’t feel insensitive, though. I felt sympathy for Brianna. I was happy she got to be happy in the end.

Thank you to @TheAuthor.Agency and @MeganCrawfordWrites for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dozen Dates was such a cute, fun read. It honestly felt like a rom com road trip, but with dating thrown in, and it was super easy to fly through.

Brianna is really relatable. She has her life together when it comes to work, but dating? Total struggle. So when her best friend decides she needs twelve dates to get back out there, it turns into this chaotic but entertaining adventure across different cities with a bunch of very different guys.

The dates were considered fun. Some were sweet, some awkward, some definitely spicy, and I loved seeing Brianna slowly get more comfortable putting herself out there. There is also more going on under the surface since she is carrying around a painful secret, so it is not just light fluff. It has some real emotion mixed in with the flirting.

What I liked most is how the story is really about Brianna figuring out what she wants and letting someone see the real her, not just the put together version. It is funny, a little messy, and super charming.

If you want something light, flirty, and feel good with travel vibes and a bit of spice, this is definitely the book for you!

Ok, so if you followed along with my rambling above, you see this book is a bit different than the normal romance books I read. There were several side male characters…which, yeah, It took me a minute to realize what was going on here. But Brianna is an absolute win of a FMC in my book so this is an easy 5 stars. The book had me laughing, teary eyed and everything in between. I loved how driven Brianna was and how easy it was to relate to her.

I’d absolutely recommend this book to others and look forward to Megan’s new books in the future! This one was so fun!

Twelve dates, six cities, one secret.
Brianna is always on the go, traveling for work has its drawbacks. Her best friend challenges her to go on twelve dates to get her back out there in an effort to help her leave her past hurts behind.
From NYC to San Diego, San Antonio, and Hawaii, Brianna learns what it means to let herself be loved again through self discovery and healing.

I really enjoyed this rom-com, the dates were each their own adventure full of missteps, charm, and a sprinkling of cringe. I loved the travel aspect and the sights that were represented in each city.
There were some things that were a bit over exaggerated like in a classic rom-com, but one thing that irked me was our girl always tripping over herself. As a clumsy girl myself, I felt like the constant falling was a tad obvious and overdone.
Overall, this book was a good time full of laughs and second hand embarrassment, with a great cast of characters and an FMC I couldn’t help but root for.

The men made me glad I’m not in the dating world.

What started out as a fun dare, took Brianna down a journey of finding herself again.

Brianna is a pro at her software job but pretty uninterested when it comes to romance. After being single for way too long, her best friend convinces her to go on twelve dates while she's traveling for business trips.

Brianna is a great character, she's not perfect and I enjoyed getting to know her, I loved the relationship she had with her co-worker Chris. She is constantly ravelling to different cities for work and enjoys the challenge. I liked trying to figure out who her actual love interest was in the beginning, but it doesn't take too long to figure it out.

This book was longer than I was expecting, some parts were a little slow but overall the pacing was good.

Her dates were fun, in a car-crash kind of way - she really did not have the best luck at all.

Although it’s mostly lighthearted, Brianna is carrying a heavy secret from her past, so there are some emotional chapters.

Poised Brianna Whitmore is a traveling software implementation wizard. But in her personal life, she’s a bit clumsy and dating has been nonexistent since she got her heart broken years ago. Blaming it on traveling 25 weeks of the year, she just hasn’t made it a priority, devoting all of her time to her career. But her friends notice her missing spark and convince her to do a dating challenge…12 dates within 3 months.

Meandering through Brianna’s 12 dates was a fun, yet realistic experience. This wasn’t about just hooking up with dates, this was re-discovering the woman she had tucked away after experiencing heartbreak. Author Megan Crawford had me laughing, and maybe shedding a few tears along the way.

Dozen Dates is out now in paperback, kindle and available on Kindle Unlimited.

HOLY BEJEEZUS I loveeeeed this book so much! This debut romance from Megan Crawford deserves all the reads and reviews.

Brianna’s work trips take her from city to city which leaves little time for dating. She gets dared by her best friend to take a chance on romance and go on 12 dates. We meet many a love interest but who will she choose?

Favorite Quote 🫶🏻 “Remember that I see you. The whole you. Not just the parts you think are broken.”

This book was a breath of fresh air. It was so real with how dating can actually be and not just a love at first sight like a lot of books nowadays (still a sucker for fast love) and it was so fun to start loving the male leads (and hating some) and seeing who she’s going to end up with. Megan manages to deliver an interesting, heartbreaking, keep you on your toes romance and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future!

This book does touch on some sensitive subjects so be sure to read the TWs!!

I was given an ARC from The Author Agency and this book was a 4.5 rounded up for me.

Megan Crawford explores the realities of dating, unfortunately too well as she takes us on Brianna’s dozen dates. She also explores the fact that sometimes what one is looking for can be right in front of you the whole time.

The FMC Brianna has been through heartbreak and has life facts with no easy answers or solutions. I liked that it was not easily tied up, the way this topic often is. Her friends, Sara and Becks, her cousin Lucas, and even her coworker Chris are nice side characters that provide Brianna with a community and support system.

Some of her dating experiences seem cheesy and stereotypical but not improbable and we know many people who have experienced these situations in real life.

I loved this so much!
I can’t help but giggle at Brianna Whitmore because that girl could trip on air! She’s a polished career driven woman with a lot of heart struggling to let go of her past. When her best friend challenges her to a dozen dates in a few months time to help bring her out of her funk...we’re there for the ride! We meet Mr Marina Man, Scuba Steve, Mr GQ and a few others. Some we start to like - others we want to throat punch! But as time goes on, Brianna realises she does miss having someone in her life, the thrills that come with dating and having someone. But is it worth the risk of being hurt…again? Such a fun feel good romance not without its slight bumps and trips along the way. And don’t worry….there is enough spice for you to need a glass of water handy!

This is a debut from this author, and she is definitely a name to look out for in the future!
Brianna is career driven, where implementing software is easy to her, but dating not so much after her self-imposes exile, and her best friend thinks that twelve opportunities to finally let go of the painful secret she has been carrying for years, will fix everything. Somewhere between airport security and hotel check-ins Brianna discovers that the perfect man for her is closer than she thinks.
This is a well written, easy to read story, with family, friendships, emotions, self-discovery, cross-country dating, humour, vulnerability, and love, which leads to an entertaining and heartfelt page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

"I saw who you were before him and I see who you are after him. When he left, he took your light. And you let it happen."

After a bad breakup (it's more complicated, but I won't spoil it!), Brianna closes her heart and throws herself into her work. But one day, her best friend Sara challenges her: she has to go on a dozen dates within three months. Will one of those dates change her perception and reopen her heart? Will she find love again? You'll need to read the book to find out! :)

Between Mr. GQ, Advanced Rental Guy, Marina Man, Scuba Steve and The Concierge, I went from feeling happy to frustrated, nervous to hopeful, excited to disappointed… But in the end, every feeling was worth it!

This was a great story by a debut author. After experiencing a really bad break-up, Brianna throws herself into her professional life. Brianna is struggling to let go of her past. Although a bit clumsy, Brianna is bright, beautiful and full of heart. So, her best friend Sara, challenges her to go on twelve dates in three months. The RomCom vibes are strong in this charming read where we join Brianna on her dating journey. Will it be Mr. GQ, Scuba Steve, Marina Man......? I loved the different dates she went on. The banter in this read was very funny. The spice was good. The characters were great and yes, there is an HEA.

Brianna, who spends most of her time travelling for work, hasn’t made dating a priority since her heartbreak years ago. Her best friend challenges her to go on twelve dates, and what follows is a mix of awkward encounters, sweet surprises, and moments that made me laugh.

I loved how each date felt like its own little adventure, especially with the travel element woven in. From city to city, Brianna not only meets different people but also learns more about herself. Some dates were cringe-worthy, others unexpectedly touching.

Beneath the humour and chaos, there’s a deeper story about healing, rediscovering confidence, and opening up to love again. I appreciated how the book balanced lighthearted rom-com energy with emotions

This is a brilliant debut novel. The author delivers a perfect narrative. It's a feel-good romance that blends flirtation and spicy moments together well. I loved the FMC, how she grows and learns to let go. Another thing that I liked was how the story was written. It comes across as believable and relatable. One last thing that I liked was who the FMC ended up with, that she didn't quite put it together or realize until almost the very end. I liked that hea and it was a perfect way to end this book.

I normally don't read light hearted romance, but I'm glad that I branched out for this one! This story follows Brianna who takes on a challenge from her closest friend to complete 12 dates after being out of the dating game for several years. The story itself was great, I even laughed out loud a few times! I can tell that the author didn't want the spice to take away from Brianna and her story so it was almost non existent but the scenes that were there were great. If you are into RomCom type stories this book is right up your alley! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This one was a fun read! Brianna's best friend challenges her to go on 12 dates over the course of a few months, complete with making her a dating profile!

Let me just say if I had Brianna's luck on her ex-boyfriend, as well as half of these dates, I'd be perpetually single. But could her knight in shining armor be hiding in plain sight?

Brianna travels a lot for work so has dates in different cities. I actually like how that was portrayed and felt very realistic. I also like the journey Brianna went on with herself as well.

Solid 4 star read, check your triggers for infertility/miscarriage mentions.

The story focuses on Brianna, who goes on 12 dates in 6 cities; a road trip romcom taken to the next level. She is both competent and awkward (sometimes painfully so). I laughed out loud at times at the banter and her internal monologue. While there is lots to love about this book, it's too long. The pacing could have been tighter in many places, and I think the story could have worked with just one date per city (and it still would have retained the compelling premise, but I guess a dozen dates sounds better than a half dozen). This is very much a character driven romance with a solid emotional arc, but the burn was just a bit too slow for this to be 5 stars.

The travel element gives the story a fresh, rom-com sparkle. Each city adds texture and energy, and the dates feel distinct rather than repetitive. The pacing leans into the slow burn, which makes the emotional payoff satisfying—especially with that delicious he falls first dynamic. The FMC has a vulnerability layered into her journey gives the story surprising emotional depth. Watching her confront the past while opening herself to something unexpected makes the romance feel earned.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dozen Dates was a fun read. It definitely showed the highs and lows of dating. For the most part, I really enjoyed this story. I loved the premise, i loved (most) of the characters, some parts had me cackling out loud in the break room, and I could relate to a lot of what Brianna experienced. I think the only thing I didn't love about this book was the pacing. Some parts felt too long, other parts felt too short, and a few parts felt unnecessary. Overall though, I liked it.

Dozen Dates is a sweet and funny romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. The story was engaging, and while some parts felt a little drawn out, everything came together beautifully by the end.

As the plot unfolded, all the twists and turns started to make sense, and I really appreciated how the author carefully set everything up. It became clear why certain decisions were made, which made the ending even more satisfying. The book was full of surprises, and that was one of my favorite aspects, it kept me curious and invested until the very last page.

Overall, it was a charming, heartwarming romance with a little spice and plenty of unexpected moments that made it a truly enjoyable read.

I think i just really would absolutely hate going on 12 dates if I’m being honest. That sounds like entirely too much work to me.

The dates planned were fun, but overall seemed to be just a way to pass the time. It was set up as a date, and Brianna didn’t seem overly enthused about it to begin with.

She has been harboring a secret, so it does have some emotional chapters, which was a good way to break up the dates.

I liked this.

I REALLY liked this book, it felt like living vicariously through a friend and listening all the gossip and having fun at their expense. Brianna is such a pro at her job but such a mess as a person who dates and it was hilarious to read her experience, exactly like when you sit down with a friend for brunch and they update you on their dating life.

This book was a good simple read. We basically follow along Brianna as she is dared to go on 12 dates within 3 months by her married best friend. She learns about who she wants to be with but also how to move forward after meeting the wrong guy. It was where you think you know who the MMC will be but then there's something that's like nope but it was so fun to read. I will want to reread this again and again. It was that good!!

Brianna’s best friend Sara has challenged her to go on 12 dates to get herself back into the dating world.
Sara thinks that Brianna has given up on finding the right one.
Briana is such a smart and capable woman that is also so clumsy that she could trip on thin air.
During Brianna’s dates you see her learning to trust her feelings again. She also starts to open up and shows some of her vulnerabilities.
I don’t want to give away too much when it comes to the MMC but when you finally get to that part you may be like me and the light bulb will shine over your head.
