Vampires, witches. A dark underbelly lurking in the shadows.
Jessica’s world unravels the night she’s hunted by William, a predator whose bite awakens something ancient and forbidden within her. Haunted by fractured memories and a hunger she cannot name, Jessica is thrust into a shadow realm where vampires rule, witches are hunted, and every desire is edged with danger. As she’s drawn deeper into William’s obsessive orbit, Jessica must confront the darkness inside herself and the secrets of her bloodline. Pursued by enemies both human and supernatural, she teeters on the edge of sanity, torn between the family she’s desperate to protect and the seductive power threatening to consume her. “ Bloodline Awakening” is a chilling descent into obsession, betrayal, and the unknown, where love is a curse, and survival means embracing the monster within.
Ooh this story was just so good. It instantly had me captivated with its emotional and thrilling storyline and once I started reading, I had a very hard time putting it down.
Jessica (the FMC) is going through the mundaneness of her life. She became an instantly relatable character, and you could feel her need and craving for something more than what she already has. That something more comes in the form of a very intriguing and very sexy man who can’t take his eyes or his mouth off her. And with that one ominous encounter, Jessica can’t stop thinking about the strange but sexy man either.
The storyline moves very quickly, but it keeps you fully engaged with the characters and the exciting but dangerous journey that they are embarking on together. Both characters become somewhat obsessed with each other, and I was so into it. It was hot, spicy and incredibly titillating. I could not get enough of these two.
The writing was fantastic and very entertaining. After the way it ended, I can’t wait to see what happens next. Are they always going to be dodging danger or will they eventually face the Council head-on?
This is now the fourth book I've read written by James Wheeler and can I say, omg it's my favorite one and that cliff hanger?!
Hexed takes you on the mundane life of the FMC Jessica who is yearning for something more, and one night it comes in the form of a beautiful man, William.
They say honey words are what draw a person it but it was his honey eyes that were both Jessica's undoing and beginning.
This is a journey about rediscovery and taking a step out of your comfort zone and into a vampire's embrace.
William albeit a bit obsessive in the beginning is the book boyfriend we all want when it comes to his protectiveness.
Highly recommend to anyone who loves vampires and smut. The cliff hanger will leave you wanting the second book like now!
I love a good paranormal story and this left me screaming that it was over. Hybrids are an even better sub-set for me. There's a lot of plot and I can't wait to see what comes next... Is Anna in danger? Does Jess gain control? Does William get absolution? I have SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
#vampireromance #hexed #jameswheeler #darkromance #romancebooks I always get scared. These short books are either going to be a flop or they’re going to be really good. There’s no in between and this one was really good. A lot of of plot crammed into a very short book. I loved the powers/fantasy world building! It will leave you begging on your knees for more!
This book was an interesting read and I enjoyed it throughout.
I do want to point out that it is a fast read and due to that, the storyline goes quickly as well and it shows in a lot of parts where things are left out or not explained well enough in detail. The characters did have a lot of personality and I was drawn to William very much so. I’m interested to see and read more of his story and past. Jessica is an ok FMC. I felt like she can be a little too immature and complained a lot about herself and her life, yet once she gets what she “literally” asks for, she gets upset about it 🤣
I gave this 3.5 stars only because it felt rushed, big key points in the story and characters were not explained at all or very little, especially Nan. And you would have big major moments happen and then it would skip or completely leave out key parts in the storyline.
This story does have a lot of potential and I did enjoy reading it and will definitely be looking for the continuation of the series as they come out 💋🖤
When Jessica is heading home from work for the night, she never thought her path would cross with that of a vampire. Dazed and confused by the encounter, she is unable to confide in anyone, even her husband.
From that moment on, she can't stop thinking about the handsome and alluring stranger. Throughout the day and in her dreams, he is always there. She fears she will never meet him again when an invitation is extended her way from William himself. Should she go and risk putting her family in danger or with curiosity get the better of her.
It is a short and easy read that has you hooked from the first page. I loved the world building and how so much was put into this book without it being crammed and rushed. I can't wait to see what the next book brings for William and Jessica.
What to expect ▫️ Vampires ▫️ Witches ▫️ Dual POV ▫️ Touch her and ☠️ ▫️ Age Gap
Jessica is on her way home from work and encounters a strange but alluring man. She can’t stop thinking about him, but she can’t talk to anyone about him either, not even her husband. She is constant thinking about him, even dreaming about him. And when she receives an invitation from William himself, she can’t resist going even if it puts herself I danger.
William smelled Jessica and knew he had to have her, but then once he tasted her he knew she was meant to be his. These two were had crazy chemistry and the attraction was instant. The tension ran high and there was even a bit of mystery in it. Jessica didn’t know how to act there she found out who William really was and then when she discovered who she was, it was a shock. Things would never be the same.
This book was a short and quick read. It was fast paced, full of passion and spice. Left me begging and wanting more with that ending too.
I loved the tension and mystery in this book that had me turning the pages. The plot was fast-paced, and so was the romance, bordering on 'instalove' when it came to William. Jessica's struggles and backstory were relatable and helped add more depth to the otherwise plot-driven story. If you like power imbalances, conflicting emotions (attraction vs fear), a heavy focus on main characters with little backstory or involvement of side characters, and shorter books, then this one is for you.
Hexed delivers a solid premise, a fun magical vibe, and enough mystery to keep me curious. If you love vampires and romance 😉 in a short format book you’ll love this. I’m looking forward to seeing where the next book takes us.
I enjoyed reading this story. Moved fast and has a great story line. The writing is clear, engaging and easy to understand. The premise of this story is interesting. The world building is slowly unfolding and I’m looking forward to seeing how this story evolves!!!!
Woohoo what a ride! If you love fantasy with a little bit of spice this one's for you! Hexed is a great fast paced read that leaves you hanging on the edge for more, so excited to read the next ones because I have so many questions!!
