This type of story is generally not my thing, but I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. Perhaps because they ended up knowing each other? More likely because they were both decent people, trying to be good to each other (no macho alpha characters here). This is a quick read, but still manages to work in some good back story for both characters and I'm very glad they had each other because neither of them had terribly impressive family members. This is listed as the third book in a series, but I haven't read the other 2 and didn't feel like I was missing anything so this stands alone quite well. An excellent choice if you're looking for a quick read that has some good spice without either character being an arsehole.

I always struggle with shorter stories/novellas, as authors tend to either really highlight action/plot OR character building. Eve has absolutely nailed both in a short period of time, which is quite the feat. We learn about the characters, their emotional states, and their driving forces, alongside plenty of plot points and action (if you know what I mean).
The banter was enjoyable! I don’t love when authors make character interactions/phrasing unrealistic, and Eve’s characters were far from that. I gave this four stars simply because the age gap was a little bit too wide for me and the convenient crushes on each other were a little too convenient. Also it was absolutely a five spice level read, so please take note prior to engaging. But overall, this was a breezy quick read!

Hazel’s desperation for money feels real: she’s suffering and she needs cash ASAP, but I was surprised that she wasn’t more nervous about selling herself. Her relief at being assured enough money to survive, and apparently having sold her time and body to a kind and sexy man makes sense.
The sex scenes are very romantic and spicy — but a little on the vanilla side. I would likely have given those two extra stars if the scenes were less vanilla, and if Charlie’s daughter/Hazel’s best friend had found out about them; but perhaps that will happen in a future book.

I love the two main characters in this short book. The FMC is a woman who needs cash for mounting bills and the MMC happens to have a lot of money. There is a uniqueness to this story and a surprise for both of the main characters. These two characters accidentally put themselves in a predicament. I was hoping for success for the two of them. Oh, the angst and intrigue-I couldn’t read and turn the pages fast enough for the outcome. Let’s just say I am pleased with the ending. Happy, happy. I dont know why but it was just an okay read. I thought id love the plot line where the fmc auctions off her virginity to save herself from her mounting medical debts and college tuition and is saved by her friends dad that shes had a crush on since she was 18. But the plot just felt blah and missed its mark with me. Granted there are some spicy scenes but overall I just couldn't fall for the lack chemistry between the main characters and Charlie just seemed to lack the possessive daddy qualities and just felt insincere in his desires for Hazel.

This book is about Charlie and Hazel. Havel is in desperate need of money and decides to auction off her virginity. It is a masked auction with fake names. It turns out her best friends dad is her purchaser for the evening. This book is a hot and steamy read. It is short and quick and so addictive, that I couldn’t put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

A wonderful story full of desperation, tenderness, heat, desire, connection, some complications and love.
Both characters are extremely likable and I especially enjoyed him. No exploiting of his power or money, he is nothing but gentle, caring, sweet and patient.

Strangely enough, I found myself connecting deeply with both characters. Their shared history made their chemistry explosive. A perfect mix of spice and tenderness. Absolutely awesome!.

It was a good quick read. There was a lot of heat and romance well written. I enjoyed the story the connection between the main characters was undeniable. The gentleman’s backstory was definitely relatable, believable, and heart breaking. I was happy they with the ending.
