Dark Web #2

A Covenant Renewal

Rate this book
From the authors of The Monsters Series & Love You to Bits, and Ingest Me & Apex Prey comes the Dark Web series...

With Jamie dead, it is up to Nate to continue the legacy they started together. Despite everything, he made a promise to him, and not only that, the fame and fortune he's earned from uploading the videos are something he doesn’t want to lose. Besides, making the videos was fun, even though it went against everything he was ever taught.

But he won’t be doing it alone. His little sister, Johanna, wants to be a part of it too. Nate, who’s afraid of her darkness, seeing in her something terrifying and dangerous, is left with no choice. From now on, it will be this unlikely partnership looking to be the heirs to the dark web.

Jamie’s mother, Kim, is beginning to feel something alien to her—guilt. Not being around for her son, not caring, while she partied and worried only about herself, it is time to make amends, she decides. With the help of her dead brother’s colleague, they are going to try to prove it was Nate and his creepy sister who killed her son and brother.

But for some, morality is a fine line. Like a scar, sometimes hidden, sometimes seen by all, and when Kim discovers the wonders of the dark web, can she stay true to her promise? Or will she too succumb to her darkest desires and follow a path that could lead to death and destruction?

This is an extreme horror. Consider this a TW for everything. 18+

Another gore filled and very disturbing installment from Justin and Lesley. This book was very hard to put down and I devoured every word and scene. It’s hard business on the dark web.

This book picks up where book 1 left off, Nathaniel very remorseful of the death of his good friend Jamie wants to carry on the torch to becoming a heir to the dark web. An unlikely ally with is dream reveals themselves and honestly the relationship between to the two is very sick and twisted.

Kim, Jamie’s mother is set out to avenge her son and brother and uses her tricks to achieve this. She does whatever she can to make sure the people responsible for their deaths are behind bars. Owen, Charles former partner also is looking to catch the people responsible for his murder. These two forge an unlike bond, but bonds can only go so far.

I love the book because there were multiple plots and the storylines between the characters kept me on the edge of my seat. There were some scenes that I gasped at and made me question my sanity. I would caution if you have a weak stomach or have triggers approach this book with caution.

𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤, 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐝, 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭, 𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝.

Thank you Lesley and Justin , for allowing me to read this book. I am grateful for the opportunity. I am leaving this review voluntarily all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

This dynamic duo is straight 🔥🔥🔥. Camphouse & Boote have done it again—obliterating my last remaining brain cells and whispering “you asked for this” as the abyss winked back.
This book is unhinged.
This book is feral.
This book is what happens when family dysfunction, guilt, ambition, and the worst corners of the internet have a child and raise it in a meat locker.

Nate, freshly bereft of Jamie, grieves like a man who’s 40% sadness and 60% “but the views tho.” Therapy? No. Healing? Absolutely not. Dark-web clout? Oh, he’s committed.

Enter Johanna, his little sister, radiating pure “I’ve microwaved ants for fun” energy. Their dynamic is terrifying, mesmerizing, and the kind of sibling bonding that makes you schedule therapy preemptively.

And THEN—Kim, Jamie’s mother. Her guilt arc is art; her descent is a chef’s-kiss spiral of psychological carnage. Watching her brush against the dark web is like watching someone take one bite of a cursed fruit and then devour the entire orchard.

Every character is caught between desire and destruction, and every chapter dares you to breathe through a scream.
And the atmosphere? Sticky. Grimy. Horrifically electric. It feels like late-night browsing on a laptop that hums with malevolent intent.

This isn’t horror for the faint of heart. This is for people who smell blood in the water and say, “mmm, vibes.”

By the end I was like: “Do I need a shower or an exorcism?” Possibly both. If you like extreme horror that punches you in the face and then asks how it tasted, this book is exactly your brand of chaos.

This book slaps, bites, mauls, and whispers your search history back to you.
10/10, would sell a sliver of my soul for the next one.

Holy hell. This is only book two, and this series is an absolute powerhouse. Once again, Boote and Camphouse collabed seamlessly giving us a brutal story that had moments where it was hard for even me to read. That being said, these two know how to take the horrors of the dark web while both amplifying them, and delivering a hell of a good story that goes hard from cover to cover in the best ways possible. They really know how to handle certain subject matter in this genre the way it should be, and that’s something I really applaud… and I don’t see it being an easy task, but these two make it seem effortless.

Um hi this book is absolutely f*cked.

I thought book one was dark, but this is a whole other level! Nate and his sister, Johanna, want to continue making and selling sn*ff films on the dark web, only now everyone is trying to catch them in the act…

As always with Lesley and Justin’s writing, check your TWs because these books are an absolutely wild ride.

The "Dark Web" series of books is inspired by the darkest sites on the Dark Web, specifically those dealing with hurtcore. This on its own should be warning enough; it implies extreme CA of all kinds, portrayed in some detail, not always being a necessary part of the plot but reflecting quite adequately the ethical dumpster the people in this book are living in.

Ironically, the main characters are also kids: a teenage boy who's grown from a religious nut to an avid fan of hurtcore and himself an original content producer, his thirteen year old sister, who's revealed herself to be a highly-functional psychopath, and his girlfriend, a victim of domestic SA. First book had also the boy's best friend around, who introduced him to the rot one can find online.

Unlike last time, when there was a cop with an ethical spine, this time everyone is enjoying torturing and killing. Practically everyone hurts everyone else, and having fun while doing it. No redeeming qualities for anyone, and salvation or redemption is no longer an issue. These people are going to hell, if such a place exists. Meanwhile, their sick lives populate the books with some nasty twists, creating a plot reminiscent of a extreme horror soap opera, with little emotional depth but a lot of revolting acts and appaling behaviors. In each chapter a new level of depravity is reached, plotlines seemingly diverging but eventually converging to a new moral low. The characters are tightly connected to each other, their lives reflecting, perhaps, the dark net holding them together literally and metaphorically.

Admittedly, in the beginning I thought that, only on the surface, the story was about who's gonna do the sickest and most perverted video and upload it to the Dark Web, and so become "The Heir of the Dark Web". Going deeper, I was shocked to find that ... there was nothing else. Nothing deeper. That's it. These people are empty, some of them born psychopaths, others lacking a backbone, yet others getting where they are on account of long term abuse; but don't expect any show of trauma, regret, or guilt. It does not exist. In fact, the emptiness in this volume grows like a black hole, its gravity drawing to it even more people, swallowing them up easily by perverting the idea of family, authority, and ambition.

The book is very hard to read sometimes; it includes scenes probably inspired by actual events. The plot itself is complex, bleak and humorless. I'd say it's meant for veterans of the extreme horror genre, who've appreciated "The Groomer" and need something equally disturbing but storywise far more complicated, perhaps to the point of absurdity. Triggers for everything.

This book was ABSOLUTELY UNHINGED in the best, most messed-up way possible, and it's definitely way different to the first one.

If I could make a comparison, this sequel had all the ingredients for a very enjoyable, fkd up read, and the added bonus? It was literally like something out of a soap opera, only more gruesome.

Its got sex, its got love triangles, its got sibling rivalry, its got revenge plots, and more! The violence is EXTREME but not as extreme as what I read in book 1....oh, and wait, I'd like to mention theres one explosive sex scene which i was not expecting but glad it happened...DONT ASK 😆😳

Book 2 kicks off with Nate trying to keep the legacy alive after Jamie died (whoops spoiler alert), because for this sick fk, nothing says grieving like chasing coin from the darkest corners of the Web...however, this is where it gets interesting... just when you think he can’t get any worse, his little sister Johanna steps in like, “Move. Let me take over" and to be honest? She goes to work!!!

Oh, and another thing, Jamie's mum decides to grow a conscience and is in on everything too...including the goings on in the dark web. She goes from grieving to chaos REAL QUICK

The things I LOVED MOST about this book is that there is no PRETENSE...everyone in this story is horrible. They have no morals, all the characters are terrible, and they are all spiralling towards something that is deeper, and darker than what they expect.

This is extreme horror, and we all know that Lesley and Justin aren't shy about pushing every boundary, and you can bet your bottom dollar they pushed every boundary with these dark web tales.

Books 1 and 2 are both so twisted, fast-paced, and absolutely drenched in that sick curiosity we all pretend we don’t have.

Pls make sure you check your TW for literally everything. You’ve been warned.

Title: A Covenant Renewal (Dark Web series book 2)

Genre: Extreme Horror

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gore level: 💀💀💀💀💀

If Heirs to the Dark Web was intense, A Covenant Renewal goes beyond that in such a gruesome, gory way that will leave you looking into the void wondering why the hell you do this kind of things to yourself.

A Covenant Renewal starts right after the events that occurred on Heirs to the Dark Web. Nate and Johanna got away with the things they did, because Johanna claimed it was self-defense. The Shepard family was devastated, and they turned their home into a fortress, making Johanna attend to the same school as Nate so he can protect her. Little they know, Johanna is the spawn of the devil.

This book made me suffer A LOT , more than Heirs did, the torture scenes made me gag and almost threw my Kindle out of the window and if you know me, I’m not new to this genre. The way the lives of all the people involved connects is insanely entertaining, imagine me like the conspiracy theory meme, connecting dots, lines and everything, some chapters made me laugh so hard (Owen, seriously go and touch some grass my dude) and others made me flinch, and almost cry.

Lesley and Justin are building a world so rich, so depraved and so unhinged that even if I suffer reading it I can’t stop, and I'm more than ready for book 3

Guys, just a little favor I’m asking here. Give Johanna a lesson, that girl needs to chill 🤣

As good as the first

I wasn't expecting too much from this read as the second books usually don't hit as well as the first. But I was pleasantly surprised to find it was just as good as the first! I'm hoping there will be a third as this was a brutal and horrific read of torture and abuse. Which highlights these things in the world. It happens all over, everywhere, even places you would never think of. This book is hard to read in parts, with the very detailed abuse. So please be advised on that. All said though, it is a very strong and very bloody read, and even though you are cringing , you cannot stop reading.

“A Covenant Renewal” - If you thought the first book was dark and twisted, think again.

★★★★☆

This story picks up right where “Heirs To The Dark Web” ends and I wasn’t wrong thinking this one would be even more disturbing. Lesley & Justin collaborating results in to some seriously disturbing, dark and gut wrenching stories. They know how to take things to the next level and leave no stone unturned. The characters they create are so twisted and sick, yet I can’t look away and need to mentally prepare myself for what comes next (because I need to know!). These stories are not for the faint hearted!

Alright, first things first... Normally I save the trigger warnings for later, but not this time. Trust me you'll need it 💀

⚠️Consider this your last safe moment.
Trigger warning: what follows is darker. I mean, prepare for some of the darkest vibes. This one will crawl under your skin, twist your mind, and stay there. Not for the faint-hearted or those with a weak stomach. You've been warned. Proceed at your own risk ☠️

Aah... FUDGE! FUZZBALL! WHATTHEFISH?! 😵‍💫

GORE. HORROR. INSANE 😫

My brain right now: somewhere between this is so F*CKED UP and I need more 😈

Nate thought the nightmare died with Jamie, but the dark web doesn't stop feeding just because one body drops. It just wants a new monster. And Nate? He's already tasting the crown like it belongs to him. Then comes the new unexpected partner. Ally. Parasite. A contamination. Take your pick. Two psychos circling each other, feeding off the same rot. Their bond? Wrong. Rotten. Addictive. A crime scene of a relationship you shouldn't watch… but you will. Because it's filthy. Rabid. Wrong ☠️

And then there's Kim. She only wanted payback. Revenge brought her to them. Curiosity kept her close. But the deeper she steps into their world, the more she realises the darkness doesn't just bite, it invites. Something she should've run from. Something she ends up craving 💀

And Owen was supposed to be the clean one. You know badge, rules and everything. Every clue he uncovers just gets sharper. And he realise the truth isn't waiting for him at the end. Turns out he walked straight to their nest 🔪

Multiple threads. Multiple horror 💀 With each storyline, I got to dive deeper into every character's mind. Some of them are wild, messy and somehow I understand these unhinged people more 😂

A 5☆ read. The madness of these people? I'm fully in and and honestly, a little scared of how much I'm loving it 😅

If you’ve read Heirs to the Dark Web, you already know how brutal and unhinged it is, and A Covenant Renewal takes it above and beyond.

Jamie might be dead, but Nate still has an itch to scratch, and his psycho sister is thirsty for blood.
The problem is that they’ve ruffled a lot of feathers. Not only do they have a cop following them around, but there’s also a mother ready to avenge her son, and a very clingy girlfriend with problems of her own.

Every character is twisted in their own way, all of them trying to make money and outsmart each other.
Just when you think you know where the story is going, it shoots off in the opposite direction.

It’s an absolutely insane, wild ride with no brakes.
Gory, violent, extremely graphic, and depraved! All the “good” stuff that Camphouse and Boote got us used to!
This book doesn’t hold back. Neither do the characters. And the wax scene? It’s now permanently engraved in my brain.

Both books are available on KU, but... and I very rarely say this... CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. It’s a long list, and it’s especially heavy on CSA. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5!

Much like the first book, A Covenant Renewal never lets up on the depravity, the tension, or the sheer evil that Nate, and now his sister (!) unleash on anyone unlucky enough to cross their paths.

Johanna’s development was absolutely fascinating. The way she presents as ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ while actually being even more twisted than her brother was perfection. Psychopath, sociopath, megalomaniac… she wears every mask flawlessly, and I loved every unhinged second of it.

At this point in the story, it genuinely feels like Nate is being taken along for the ride, which is wild considering who he is. Will there be a new @Princeofhurt rising on Lustblood? 👀 I cannot wait for Book 3 to see where that thread goes.

And as the clamour for more Johanna content grows on the PPV hurtcore site, I’m desperate to know what new lows she’s going to sink to (assuming she can even go lower than this!).

Brilliant, disturbing, and addictive - exactly the sequel this series deserved

”With Jamie dead, it’s up to Nate to continue the legacy they started together.“

This is EXTREME Horror—all trigger warnings apply.

Within the first twenty pages you’ll know if you can stomach it–or if you should run. Boote and Camphouse don’t hold back. There is no censorship here, no mercy, no boundaries.

Nate is now without his partner in crime, and all their money made from the Dark Web is gone. His little sister Johanna gets involved, in the most creepy, shocking ways. She turns out to be quite a little menace you won’t forget.

The plot is fast, violent, and has strong character development. Twisted cat and mouse games, and you never know what’s waiting around the next corner.

I’d recommend A Covenant Renewal only to horror readers with iron stomachs and morbid curiosity. This one is not for beginners. For me, it was a page-turner–I couldn’t put it down or look away.

Here I thought book 1 went all out on carnage. But that's what you get when you combine two fucked up minds: they write something even worse.

Jamie's death was supposed to end the dark web horrors. But Nate quickly learns that the audience they fed is still starving. Stepping into the void that Jamie left, Nate becomes the new face of their vile empire.. until his sister Johanna joins him. Cold, brilliant, and far more dangerous than Jamie ever was, she pushes their work into even darker territory. Meanwhile, Jamie's mother Kim is consumed by guilt and suspicion. Convinced Nate and Johanna are tied to her son's downfall, she begins to hunt for answers. As Nate and Johanna spiral deeper into cruelty and fame, a new wave of brutality arises. Bloodier, bolder, and impossible to contain.

This sequel to Heirs of the Dark Web takes everything disturbing, addictive, and morally twisted from the first book and turns the dial until it snaps off! Nate and Johanna are the kind of characters you want to watch the way you watch a train wreck, fascinated, horrified, and unable to look away. Their descent into the dark web spotlight is so unsettling and believable it made me question my own curiosity. Kim's storyline is the surprise emotional gut punch of the book. Her grief fueled obsession feels raw and real, and it adds this relentless tension, like she's racing a clock no one can see. The whole book is a blend of psychological rot, toxic ambition, and pitch black horror that feels claustrophobic. If you like your horror extreme and your endings soaked in dread, A Covenant Renewal delivers in spades. Not for the faint of heart, but absolutely impossible to forget!

Thank you so much to Lesley Camphouse and Justin Boote for this eARC! Can't wait to see what chaos you come up with next!

This one was so much more twisted then the first one. You read what happens with everyone that’s left after Jamie’s death. And how everyone coped with it.
They are some crazy team-ups. Some shocking and gruesome twists. Honestly amazing. And with how this one ended. I need more

“He had promised Jamie he would continue their legacy, that of becoming kings of the dark web, heirs to a promise of riches and fame. And now this stupid fucking woman could ruin it all, steal his prize. That couldn’t happen."

A rollercoaster of drama, treachery and GORE!

Whoah! Can I first say, what a journey that was! After the first book in this series, I was not entirely expecting such a complex and dramatically-charged world to manifest in the second. The hero (anti-hero?) of Heirs, Nate, is back, and this time accompanied by his darling younger sister Johanna. Although the first title in this series details visceral carnage at a faster pace, Covenant doesn't hold back on the bloodshed! I found that this time around, there is much more inter-personal exploration with each of the characters, including exposing their weaknesses and personal evils as they all seek to unravel the increasingly complex web that connects them.

This might be a controversial take, but I think that this sequel is actually somewhat tamer than the first when it comes to the explicit brutality, focussing more on gross out than pure violence. Though that isn't to say it doesn't contain it in spades! I also had a sense while reading that the 'Dark Web' aspect takes a bit more of a backseat to allow room for the character dynamics and relationships between different characters to bloom. This book is almost an aftershock, an exploration of the consequences of the first, rather than a sole examination of the depths of what the dark web has to offer. The new character arcs and increasingly intertwined nature of this world are fascinating, and Johanna is an absolute psychopath! Another great read from Boote and Camphouse! Looking forward to seeing if book three may materialize anytime soon!

💻🩸 A Covenant Renewal by Justin Boote and Les Ley 🩸 💻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Due out December 8th.

With Jamie dead, it is up to Nate to continue the legacy they started together. Despite everything, he made a promise to him, and not only that, the fame and fortune he's earned from uploading the videos are something he doesn’t want to lose.

If you liked the first one, then buckle up because this sequel will take you on an even wilder ride. The madness is ramped up another notch with seemingly every character needing eyes in the back of their heads to escape the carnage. It's this chaos which really brings the book to life and leaves you second-guessing at what will be coming next, which I really enjoyed. I loved the unpredictability. But be warned, this book is very graphic, so check your trigger warnings before taking a delve.
