They decide to take reasonable precautions and let God take care of the rest. But Jacqueline hasn’t changed one bit, and she has plans of her own . . .“Jacqueline is back in full force. She is brilliant, slick and certifiable. But her victims aren’t going to go down so easy. The story is both electrifying and terrifying. Lovely truly delivers in the conclusion to this trilogy. Read all three—they are awesome!” —RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars on The Perfect Revenge“Lovely again demonstrates a talent for creating wacked-out women determined to kill their lovers. . . . Readers witness the relationship become totally dysfunctional and eventually turn into a deadly Hitchcock-type psychological thriller.” —Library Journal on The Perfect Deception
Jacqueline Tate has spent time in jail, has been set free, but still has not learned her lesson. She refuses to take responsibility for her actions. She went after Randall Atwater, a scientist who was another woman's husband and when things didn't go her way she resorted to ugly ways. She even got her sister involved. She disguises herself, and tries all kinds of devious acts. Once again she is found out, tries to get away and in the end, she has a terrible car accident that paralyzes her. Will Jacqueline stop there or will she continue with her ugly ways? Has she learned her lesson or does she still think she was wronged? Read: June 2015
Jacqueline Tate has caused a lot of problems throughout this series, she is the true definition of Crazy. She went way to far to get revenge on the Atwaters and her younger sister Jessica Givens. She is a different kind of Wacko.
This series drew me in from beginning to end, couldn't believe a person could actually be that Crazy and Deranged!!!
"I'm not talking about just now. I'm wondering about the other woman you slept with recently. Did you practice safe sex with her?" Even though it was true, her comment made him defensive. "What makes you assume I've been with someone?" Dev's voice remained calm and casual. "It's not an assumption. I asked the question because of the fresh bite mark I saw while giving you pleasure. I know you work out and you might be quite limber, but even the best contortionist would be hard-pressed to bite his own ass."
This book was messy with a capital M. Actually, it was a little too messy for my taste. As one can tell from the above passage, there is cheating and confrontation but this is the tip of the iceberg of the shock and awe moments. This is the third book in the Shady Sisters trilogy and it definitely goes out with a bang! And, while this is part of a series I honestly don't think the previous books need to be read to figure out what is going on.
Jacqueline is a one of a kind character and she is quite memorable. Her sole focus is seeking revenge against those that she feels have wronged her. There isn't anything that she won't do and she doesn't care about anyone except herself. Her antics lead to a fun and entertaining book.
And while the book was fun, the use of aliases by characters were hard to follow, distracting and at times annoying. While Jacqueline is a fictional character, sadly there are many people in real life that are truly obsessed with revenge and that isn't a laughing matter. The Perfect Revenge is a nice distraction for a few hours especially if you're into the ID channel.
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of The Perfect Revenge in exchange for an honest review.
Ok....Part 3 was absolutely crazy....The lengths this ABSOLUTELY Insane woman went through to get revenge on people she felt wronged her was a show of just how insane she really was.....She basically wreaked havoc over an innocent family's lives for extremely too long....there's no way she should have been out of prison on ANY technicality....not to mention that she killed a guard....she had too much power and control over everyone she came in contact with...this book was tough to listen to....I actually found myself using the 30 second skip button multiply times....I completely understand the message of the story about forgiveness....but, forgiving the person who tried to kill you and then getting back with them is a far ass fetch and stretch of anyone's imagination. That part of this book was simply ridiculous! A lot of the terms and verbiage was elementary to me....there wasn't a lot of depth to the characters....the narration was decent...but it was hard at times to figure out which character was talking...because Shari Peele rarely changes her voice....she basically reads us a story and I think I've become accustom to the actors who narrate the books that I enjoy...they bring the story to life for me and unfortunately Ms. Peele failed in that area.
I didn't care much for this series with two crazy derange sisters. And I don't think I could take another book in this series. Sometimes I found myself bothered with Nathan about still loving someone who tried to kill you. Although Nathan & Jessica had a son together this man still had love for her. To me that is sick also. I liked that Sherri was somewhat straight hood when it came to her family and to have your bestie who had your back. I wish I could have seen Nathan in a wonderful marriage with Dev and truly find love and happiness with her. Just my opinion, but I'm glad that Jacqueline got what came to her in the end. Just because she suffered as a child did not give her the power to cause hell in everyone else's lives. She was batshit, coo coo for cocoa puff, apeshit crazy.
Very good read. Jacqueline was one of the most dangerous women I've read. Her diabolical plans kept the pages turning. The storyline and content was set on revenge and Jacqueline's messy actions lived up to the title. While I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series, I especially found this finale to be well written and bittersweet.
I didn't believe this trilogy was going to end with a bang but this book right here sealed the deal. For the ID Channel, Snapped and Lifetime Fans this is your kind of book. It was so full of devious twist and turns and nice ending, somewhat, from the psycho Jack Tate
Revenge is on Jacqueline mind. She's determined to take down everyone that wronged her no matter what. Jessica just trying to move on with her life. Baby, husband just get over Nathan but with issues from her past popping back up things just not that simple.
Alice Smith aka Jacqueline Tate aka Jamie aka Sissy...dang it! Along with Eric aka Todd Darrin aka Bruce Clark, a former Marine now share drama throughout this finale. And what a finale.
Boy, those Shady Sisters were something else...but you took me to another level about Kris....very good Trilogy You done good Lutishia Lovely...you done good. lol..thank you for your books. This one really opened my eyes to mental illness and forgiveness.
The Perfect Revenge by Lutishia Lovely 290-page Paperback story ends on 278 The Shady Sisters Trilogy #3
Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Romance
Featuring: Raleigh, North Carolina; Prison, Atlanta, Georgia; Major Continuity Issues, Magic Timeline, Book 1 Sample - The Perfect Affair Chapter 1, Sex - Explicit Details, Bahamas, Family Drama, Criminal Activity, Discussion Questions
Rating as a movie: X-rated
My rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
My thoughts: Page 92 of 278 Ch. 14 - This story has a huge plot hole, but I'm enjoying it anyway. 📖 201 Ch. 31 - I think I've hit one storyline too many. She is throwing the kitchen sink at this one. I'm going to stay up to avoid rereading, as there's so much going on.
While it was a good ride, the ages irked me, so I couldn't give it 5 stars. The kids from book 1 only aged 1 year over 3 books, while the embryo from book 2 aged nearly 2 years and had the speech of a 4-year-old. But the total time between the end of book 1 and the beginning of book 3 was 2 years. It makes no sense and cost it ½ star.
Recommend to others?: Yes. This is an enjoyable series, plotholes, and all.
Lutisha Lovely has written page turned for sure. The characters i felt were well developed, Jacqueline was a crazy woman, the way she tried to destroy the Atwaters was unbelievable, in her mind, she thought she could get the perfect revenge against them, her sister, and her family. If only she could have put all that behind her, she could have had a second chance at life, love and fami!y. Good thing Eric decided to get out but it almost costed his life. I felt bad that Vincent couldn't find in his heart to forgive Jessica and start fresh, but glad Nathan found love again with her and he truly forgave her. Sherri needs to realize her Mama is right and forgive her enemies, enjoy life and love her family for that is the perfect revenge. I would recommend this trilogy to others. I really enjoyed this trilogy and have read all of Ms Lovely's novels, please keep them coming!
OK, so I waited until I finished the series. I absolutely loved it. These were my first reads from this author and will not be my last. The characters were developed great. I have not puzzling questions lingering afterwards. I loved how each booked picked up from where they all left off and managed to bring you current and catch you up if you hadn't read any of the previous ones. That Jacqueline was something crazy! I will not give any spoilers so all I am gonna say, if you are on the fence don't delay any longer, this is a nice book with a bit of romance, a dose of crazy, with a side of keep u on the edge of your seat!
Jacqueline was one messed up chick. I like Sherri the most because she knew that regardless of everything Jacqueline was blood thirsty and wouldn't give up. Nathan was so stupid and deserved everything he got between him and Dev. I felt so sorry for Vincent, he deserved honesty. Hope he fall in love again. Great story. Definitely 5 stars worthy.
Lutishia Lovely is a great writer. But the time lines seem a little off. The ages of the children don't match the the amount of time that has went by from book to book. The revenge plot in this particular book was very long and drawn out. I listened to the audiobook and found myself skipping a lot of it. I did finish the book and enjoyed the ending.
This book was awesome. So many twist and turns. Who could be so vengeful that it consumes their life and ended their life at the same time. Mother Elaine said it best vengeance is mine said the Lord. Thanks God His Mercy is extended to all for God is love.
You can not read just one. Each book leaves you wanting more. When you think you know what’s going to happen next, Lovely throws in a new twist. Jacqueline is one badddd woman.
The last book of The Shady Sisters has the perfect title. Jacqueline wanted revenge on everyone that caused her pain, especially a certain family that sent her to prison. This is a page turner for sure.
Silly book. Jacqueline was just diabolical and always had the upper hand. She was a true psycho. There was a lot of build up in this book just for it all to be brought to a quick and messy conclusion.
REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD ~ That very statement has been used to justify paying someone back for a wrong that you feel that they have done to you. But how true is that statement? Revenge and Karma might just go hand in hand when it comes to righting a wrong that you feel has been done.
Jacqueline Tate is BACK!!! She has been released from prison and is leaving the country for good. On her way out of the country Jacqueline has to pay a visit to some of the people who she has never forgotten while she was locked up just to make sure that they NEVER forget her either!
Nathan Carver is living his life as best as possible after his near death experience with Jessica. He has a great job and a wonderfully loving girlfriend Develia, who has been his rock through his trial. Things are heating up between Nathan and Develia possible wedding bells, but will all of that happen once Nathan has been touched by the angel of death, Jacqueline?
Randall and Sherri Atwater are living a life that they have always dreamed they could live. Life after Jacqueline is slowly getting back to normal for the Atwaters. The children are having a normal life again and Randal and Sherri are more in love than ever. After hearing that Jacqueline had been released from prison they went on high alert, but determination will never stop a person from what they are hell-bent on accomplishing.
Jessica is trying to live a happy life with her husband Vincent and son Dax. Things are going well for her, they have a great marriage until Jessica is contacted by Jacqueline. All that has been achieved in her happy life is now at jeopardy due to her sisters influence over her. How can one woman cause so much despair in the lives of so many?
The Perfect Revenge is the perfect story to wrap up this trilogy. This book has so much drama in it that you have no other choice but to sit and read it so you will know what happens next! While you are reading this book you find yourself in your emotions with the characters and you might even be a little mad a some characters saying what you would do if it was you! I love writing like this, it makes you want to take some sort of action in this drama just to help and that is a sign of an excellent author. This completes the Shady Sister Trilogy but I do look forward to reading more from Lovely, she keeps us right in the thick of the story!
The Perfect Revenge is due to be released May 26, 2015 so if you have not read the previous two books in this trilogy, The Perfect Affair and The Perfect Deception you have time to catch up! This book will be available everywhere books are sold and also in Kindle and Nook formats and at the publisher's website: WWW.Kensingtonbooks.com.
This book was juicy & fortunately, in this 3rd book, the author didn't make us wait until the middle or end just for things to be juicy like she did in the 1st 2 books in this series. I swear you'll feel so close to the characters, and you'll catch yourself having emotional reactions to their actions/decisions. One minute you'll feel sorry for Jessica & the next you'll be on the train of people who can't wait for her to get what was coming to her. Even though Nate's sister Sherry was right about Jessica all along, I still couldn't stand her character lol And even though Jessica did Nate super dirty, I still kind of wish they end up together instead of Jessica & Vincent ending up together. This book was awesome. I felt it was the most well-written of the other 2 books in this series. Based on how the story ended, I don't think there will be a 4th book, but since the author did a good job of patching everything up together in the epilogue, I'm pretty satisfied with how the series ended. The only thing left hanging in the air is whether or not Jessica & Nate ended up with each other in the long run. That, I guess we will never know
