This book was such a lovely, unexpected read. After seeing some great reviews, I had to request it on NetGalley - and I’m so glad I did!
I kept thinking the story was going to go in completely different directions, so I was pleasantly surprised by how it ended. It wasn’t at all how I expected things to play out, and I really enjoyed the direction the author took.
I loved the dynamic between Violet and Thomas. You could really see how they were both stuck with unresolved feelings, and I also really enjoyed Violet and Suki’s friendship. Suki is such a supportive friend - the kind every girl needs in her life! 💕
This was such a fun read, with some great characters that you can’t help but root for. There’s a really slow-burn romance, but one that I think was definitely worth waiting for.
There’s also a cat. You can’t go wrong with me if there’s a cat 😂
I’m hoping this is the start of a series, as I can see so many different avenues the author could explore with Violet!

If You've Got It, Haunt It is such a fun read, with a blurb that absolutely doesn't do it justice (although it certainly sells the book anyway). As well as being witty, charming and perfect for Summerween reading as we ease towards Autumn, it has real depth. Beneath the humour lies an emotional story that explores love, grief, loss and the often complicated realities of adulthood.
Lana Wren handles these themes with warmth, sensitivity and a light touch, balancing heavier moments with just the right amount of humour and tenderness. The result is a novel that is both comforting and uplifting, with characters you'll quickly find yourself rooting for and an easy storyline.

I had a fabulous time reading this. I love a supernatural romance, but sometimes I feel like there aren’t enough ghosts. There were plenty in this book! We follow Violet (working as Viola) who runs a successful medium personality online. However disaster strikes during a crucial Halloween livestream. She finds herself tethered to the ghost of the man who broke her heart at age eighteen and who has stopped her from maintaining a relationship since. He may only recently be a ghost, but he’s been haunting her for years. She has to find a way to help him move on.
I liked Violet, she was very wounded and guarded emotionally but she still had a glimmer of hopefulness and she did genuinely care about other people. She agonises when she feels she’s hurt people and she particularly hates feeling like she’s deceiving her best friend and business partner. The guy… I thought he was challenging. He’s supposed to be as he needs to go through a journey of self discovery for the sake of the narrative, but I still went through a lot of this book really thinking Violet deserved better! Trust the author though.
There’s some cute and cosy elements to this, a pet cat, a cafe with detailed baked goods. But there’s still enough supernatural stuff to stop this feeling saccharine. The author gets the balance right.
