Twelve years apart. Two broken hearts. One love that refuses to fade.

I spent the majority of my younger years dreaming of marrying Weston Taylor, my childhood sweetheart.
Until he shattered my heart the night before I left for college.
I left our small town, vowing to never look back. My eyes now set on big city dreams. Life took that as a challenge, apparently. Because twelve years later, I’m back in Windy Peaks, and if I want to climb the corporate ladder, I have to knock this project out of the park.
The only problem? I’m working on Weston’s family ranch for the summer and there’s a sparkling engagement ring adorning my left hand.
I thought I was strong enough to resist his charm but the more I see him, the more I’m reminded of why I fell in love with him all those years ago. And the more I realize how badly I’ve been settling in my life.
Our fire is burning brighter and hotter than ever. Weston’s made it clear he’s determined to correct the mistakes of his past. His biggest regret? Letting me go. That’s one mistake he isn't making twice.

Roped In is a Dual POV, interconnected standalone. Perfect for lovers of Second Chance, Forced Proximity, Found Family and Cowboy Romance.

I really wanted this one to work for me, but it just didn’t land the way I hoped. 😔 The premise pulled me in right away—second chance, small town ranch, childhood sweethearts reconnecting after years apart. That’s usually an easy win for me. And to be fair, the setting and overall vibe did have its moments. There’s a cozy, grounded feel to the ranch life and the found-family dynamic that I appreciated, and the dual POV helped keep things moving. But emotionally, I had a hard time fully buying in.

My biggest disconnect was with Weston. Even though he was clearly the better choice compared to the fiancé, I never felt like he truly earned the second chance. After twelve years of no contact, he seemed wayyy too sure he could just step back in and win her over quickly. The confidence about their future felt less romantic and more assumptive. 🥲 I kept waiting for real effort, real groveling, real emotional accountability, and it never really showed up in a satisfying way. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I like a hero who has to work for forgiveness, and here it felt like he just expected it. 😬

I was also confused about the original breakup. For something that led to twelve years apart, it felt underexplained and a bit thin. 🤔 That made the reunion feel rushed because I never fully understood the weight of what broke them. When they reconnect, the emotional intensity ramps up fast, but the actual repair work felt SO light. By the end, major life decisions were being made really quickly, especially considering how career-focused she’d been for over a decade. I wanted more in-between moments showing how trust and commitment were rebuilt. (Also, his long stretch of abstinence over the 12 years… I’m sorry but that was just so hard to view realistically 😭 like be so for real)

That said, it wasn’t all negative. The book is easy to read, the pacing is steady, and there are genuinely sweet moments between them. The author does a good job writing emotional tension in short bursts, and I can see why readers who prefer lighter conflict and faster reconciliation would enjoy it.😌 The side characters and ranch atmosphere added warmth, and I did still want them to get their happy ending. 💚💚

Overall, it wasn’t terrible, just not emotionally convincing enough for me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I needed more growth, more vulnerability, and more effort on page. It had the right ingredients, but the payoff didn’t quite match the setup.

(I will say this book definitely needed some more editing. There were quite a few typos that pulled me out of the story throughout my reading).

”I was always convinced he was my person. Like we were born two halves a whole. I can still feel it when he's around, the familiarity. It's been years and somehow my soul can still find him in a room of a thousand.”

"Believe me, if I stared at you as much as I wanted to, you would be serving me a restraining order."

“my mind, body, and soul are yours to take."

He tosses his shirt to the side, and I see it. The willow tree tattooed across the whole left side of his torso. My hands immediately go to it, running my hands over the ink. "West, what is this?"
"I couldn't have you here, but I needed you with me in some way. So, I tattooed you on me, that way in some shape or form, I could keep you forever."

i'm so sorry, but i don't think small town romances are for me... 😭 i've read many back to back now and they just don't do it for me 🫠 honestly, it may have been my fault for requesting this because second chance romances are not really my thing! i had hopes going into this though, because of the beautiful cover 💚 the MMC, Weston, was hard to get used to tbh, and i didn't really warm up to him at the end 😭

thank you to love notes pr for the ARC!

This book hit a lot of my romance sweet spots. Small town vibes? Yep. Second chance romance? Absolutely. A man who has been waiting for her? Sign me up. And on top of all that, we get a truly badass FMC.

I really loved Willow and Weston together. Their history added so much depth to their relationship, and you could feel how much time, longing, and unresolved emotion sat between them. Weston’s patience and quiet devotion paired so well with Willow’s strength and independence.

I also loved their meddling families. They added so much charm and humor to the story and really leaned into that small-town, everyone-knows-your-business energy in the best way.

Overall, this was a solid, heartfelt second chance romance that delivered on the tropes I love and left me smiling when I turned the last page. 💛📚

"Roped In" by Elle Jordan is a small-town second chance between two characters who have spent over a decade apart from one another, despite never fully moving on, no matter how hard they tried. I liked some parts of this book, but I think it is marred by its very jerky, very abrupt beginning. It's a childhood sweethearts turned strangers novel. Weston, the MMC, told Willow, the FMC, that he wanted her to live her life and have every opportunity she wanted while she was away at college in the big city, so he broke up with her the day she left and pushed her away instead of trying to go at it long-distance. The premise might isolate a lot of readers at the start because..........what are you doing, you fool!?!?!?! They are so obviously endgame, even from the beginning of the book, that his unilateral decision makes no sense!! No talk, no discussion, he just makes the decision for her!!??? Just communicate with her!!! If you can get over this, which I had a hard time doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, the rest of the book that follows is him trying to grovel for forgiveness when Willow comes back into town, working on a job for Weston's family's property, unbeknownst to her. A lot of his actions felt forced and unnatural, so I never really got the sense that his forgiveness was ever earned. I liked Willow for the most part, but some of the choices she makes..... girl, you're better than that! The best parts about this book are the meddling family members and townspeople. I liked some of the spice, but once Weston and Willow "work out" their issues, the plot basically becomes spice-spice-spice and barely any plot apart from that. This is not my favorite book, unfortunately.

Thank you to Elle Jordan and Love Notes PR for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

I ended up deciding to DNF this one :/

I really liked the premise and thought the second-chance romance had a lot of potential, but I struggled to connect with the MMC. Weston came across as a little too sure of himself, like overly confident that he could win her back after 12 years. I love confidence in an MMC, but this didn't hit the mark. And his chivalry felt more forced than natural, which made it hard for me to root for him as the right choice after so many years apart

The book also needs more editing. The repetitive language pulled me out of the story at times, along with other technical errors I came across. With tighter editing and more depth to the characters, I think this could’ve been a stronger read

Thank you to Luna Literary for the opportunity to read this ARC 💕

Weston broke Willow’s heart when she was going away to college and she vowed to stay away. She only came home a few times to visit her grandpa who raised her. 12 years later she is forced to return home for work. Not just any work, but consulting on Weston’s ranch. Because obviously. He’s been celibate for 12 years and she has a fiancé who gaslights her into thinking she’s a forgetful mess. Her fiancé sucks, as they do, and we hate him immediately. Weston wants Willow to forgive him, even if they can only be friends. Sureeeee, Weston. Willow wants to get the job done and head back to NYC. But that lasts like 10 minutes. Willow finds out that while she was gone Weston visited her grandfather weekly to play cards which is honestly my favorite thing in the entire book.

Weston and his two best friends/basically brothers have a hilarious friendship. We got to see it in book 1 but this one had some lines that made me laugh out loud.

“When I pull up to the barn, my two favorite dipshits are standing outside. Normally, I’m part of that crew, but today, I’ve been promoted to leader of the dipshits. We like to take turns so that we don’t all have to be responsible on the same day.”

Probably my biggest complaint is that Willow’s POV would go from calling him Weston, to Wes in the next sentence, to West in the sentence after that. It drove me bananas.

What you’ll get:
She’s engaged to someone else
He’s been celibate since her
Cowboy
Small town
Forced Proximity
Second chance

Thank you so much for this arc @kindlekween_ and lunaliterary.management for the opportunity to read and review this arc.

This was a wonderful small town romance with a lot of heart as well as heartbreak. The MMC Winston makes huge mistakes when breaking the heart of the FMC Willow.

He believes he is doing it for her own good but ends up regretting it when she finally comes back engaged to someone else. I know some might not be able to get over that, but personally I think he paid for it. Yes, he sure needed to grovel and Willow did not make it easy on him.

In the end, he waited 12 years for her and he FINALLY was worthy to get the girl.

Quotes:

Yeah, well, it’s been twelve years since I’ve touched anyone. Since I’ve touched you, really, I’m kind of surprised I didn’t come the second you laid your lips on mine.”

“West, are you telling me you haven’t been with anyone since we broke up?”

“It’s okay. I’m glad. You’re it for me, Willow. I never stopped loving you, not even for a second. Your hands are the only ones I want on me.”

“I love you, Weston. You’re it for me, too. Now, how about you take me to bed and we make up for some lost time.” “I thought you’d never ask.”

First off I was given this book for my honest review from Elle Jordan and Love Notes PR. I really wanted to read this book because I judge books by their covers (I know the horror). Anyways, the plot in this story is sweet and it makes you think. I wanted more in some parts of the book as I did not think the FMC was angry enough at the MMC. I mean for twelve years she thought he didn't love her after he broke her heart. I wanted more passion from both characters. I really felt like the two characters were not meshing well in the story except the history was there. I wanted more from both of the characters. I did feel like Weston was a little one sided as well as a massive EGO. Though, through all of that I really did enjoy the book and was able to overlook things. I really enjoyed this story but it is a bit slow through the book. I needed more action throughout the book. I highly recommend checking out this book.

This was a sweet small town, second chance romance. It was full of healing, learning to trust again, love that never truly left, found family and a swoony mmc who will give up everything to give our fmc the world and win her back. ❤️
It was sweet, spicy, and swoony. It was a fun read that immediately puts you into the story without lots of buildup and backstory- you dive right it and you’re there. This is the second book in the series and although I did read the first book you do not need to read it to understand what is going on. It stands on its own. ☺️
I love how Weston had secretly been there for her grandpa all those year and made sure he was ok and never truly alone. Talk about SWOON!
I guessed what the real situation was with getting Willow getting hired almost immediately and loved that I was right 😉☺️ That being said I CANNOT wait for Aspen’s story! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I wasn’t as obsessed with this story as I was with Spurred On. It was still an adorable read. A second chance romance between childhood sweethearts. Weston and Willow really know how to push each other’s boundaries. I guess that’s a perk when you’ve grown up together your whole life. The first part of the book dragged on a little for me. However, I think it started to get really good at around the 40% for me. Communication was clearly needed between them. I love that Windy Peaks is a small town and that everyone is always invested in everyone. I also love the family dynamic in this. They’re dysfunctional but loving.

Thank you Elle for letting me read your story. I’m honestly really intrigued by Rhett and Aspen.

I had the absolute pleasure of receiving an ARC of Roped In by Elle Jordan and after reading the first book, I just knew I had to apply for this one… and I’m SO glad I did because it completely exceeded my expectations 🥹

Second chance romance already has my whole heart, but Weston and Willow??? I was DONE for 😭 The history, the tension, the heartbreak, the longing… it all felt so real and emotional in the best way.

Watching them reconnect after twelve years absolutely wrecked me. You could feel the hurt they both carried but also the love that never actually faded 💫 Weston especially had me melting because that man KNOWS he messed up and is fully determined to prove he deserves another shot. We love a man willing to grovel and grow 👏🤠

The forced proximity on the ranch was EVERYTHING. The small town vibes, the found family energy, and the cowboy romance elements made this story feel so cozy while still packing an emotional punch 🐎🤍

And besties… the spice was just so damn delicious 🌶️🔥 The chemistry between Weston and Willow felt natural, emotional, and so well built up that every moment between them just hit perfectly.

I also loved seeing Willow rediscover herself and realise she might not be living the life she truly wants. That personal growth alongside the romance made the story feel deeper and so satisfying 💭✨

This book gave me emotional nostalgia, yearning, tension, and so many moments that made me smile like an idiot while reading 🫶 If you love second chance romances with strong emotional depth, swoony cowboys, and found family vibes, you absolutely need this on your TBR.

This is book two in the Windy Peaks series and while I still loved book one the most, I really enjoyed this one. I love cowboy romance as well as second chance and this was a great one. Weston and Willow are just made to be together. I think they are both stronger characters for the time they went through while apart. Weston was always devoted to Willow and Willow is a strong independent FMC. I loved the side characters including her grandpa Vern. This is a slow burn but once the spice starts it's so hot 🥵. I love a cowboy who takes control and dirty talks. Overall, this is a great second chance romance and I can't wait for the third book.

Thanks to LoveNotesPR and Elle Jordan for this amazing story! Absolutely loved Weston & Willow's story. It's almost as if these two were destined to be together, but only after ripping each other's hearts out when they were teenagers. It's insane but oh so believable to pop back into someone's life and it feel like almost nothing has changed. Especially in a small town. Weston having never gotten over Willow is written extremely well, and Willow "hating" Weston is spot on. Having the fiancée show up, that was crazy but absolutely perfect. Elle definitely has a talent and I can't wait to see what is in store for Aspen & Rhett!

Help, I’m still at the restaurant thinking about weston and Willow🙇🏻‍♀️🥺 roped in has earned a place among my favorite second chance romance. Reading weston and willow was a wonderful experience. The level of yearning was insane, and this book made me sigh more than once 😮‍💨❤️‍🩹

Weston’s ONLY mistake was breaking up with willow, and that was so she could follow her dreams. At 18, he truly believed it was for the best, but in reality, it ended up hurting them both 🥹.
Twelve years later (yes TWELVE) Willow comes back as a project manager to work with Weston. And he doesn’t waste this chance, because his feelings for her never faded. From the beginning, he does everything for her, proving through actions that she deserves a full love, not crumbs❤️‍🩹

Willow returns as a complete different woman: independent , strong and very protective of her heart. As the days go by in Windy Peaks, she realizes she hasn’t felt this happy in a long time, and that coming back was exactly what she needed to find herself, and that her feelings for Weston never disappear.

Weston is such a gentleman, a real gem! He knows Willow is capable of doing whatever she wants by her own, but the still wants to help her in the smallest ways😩😩. He thinks about her comfort, her safety, he thinks about her. Period.

The prologue broke my heart, and for a moment I genuinely thought this book was going to destroy me (it didn’t). With every page, my heart just kept melting for them❤️‍🩹 the found family was done so right, the chemistry was undeniable…oh and let’s not forget it’s a cowboy romance, which made it even better.

I truly believe Weston is officially in my top of book boyfriends 😩💚

Second chance romance are pretty low on the list of troupes I like but THIS ONE?! Loved this one!! Weston and Willow have been friends since she moved to Windy Peaks as a 8 year old. Dated as teenagers. Broke up before college but 12 years later they reconnect. The way Elle Jordan wrote their love story really connected with me! I am going to go back and read Mav and Ava's story and I cannot wait for Rhett and Aspens story!! Highly recommend this book if you like a cowboy who knows what he wants 100%, second chance romance, forced proximity, and found family.

This is a beautiful small town, second chance romance with some terrific tropes like childhood sweethearts and forced proximity. Weston broke Willow's heart 12 years ago. He thought he was doing the noble thing by breaking up with her so she could chase big city dreams. She was devastated. Now she's back in town and he's determined to right his wrong. The only obstacle is she's engaged to another. I love a determined MMC who is willing to put himself out there and go after his heart's desire. Weston is that guy. I loved their story. The chemistry was amazing and the spice was excellent.

This was so good I couldn’t put it down! I read the whole thing is 24 hours.

Weston is such a sweetheart. His devotion to Willow is so cute. I love his protectiveness but also his support when she needs to do things for herself. I also

I thought this was a perfect length for this trope. Sometimes they drag on and on, I thought the pace was perfect. They didn’t rush into anything, which was a nice change of pace for books like this.

I can’t wait for the next one! 😉

I’m grateful for the ARC in exchange for my review 🩷

Every good second-chance romance needs the proper amount of grovelling and for the reader to believe that the couple should make their way back to each other. Jordan is able to make that journey of reconciliation realistic, measured and ultimately joyful.

Solid 3 stars. Some things I loved, somethings not so much… I LOVEEE cowboys and second chances, which is what immediately drew me to this book! Weston and Willow were childhood friends to lovers, but after breaking her heart at 18, Willow leaves for college and starts a new life in New York, moving away from their small town in Wyoming. 12 years later they are forced to work together when Willow’s company sends her back to Wyoming to work a job at Weston’s ranch. The past 12 years Weston has been living with regret of letting Willow go, but when she returns to the ranch he learns that she is now (unhappily) engaged.

For about the first half of the book, I was really loving it. There were plenty of swoony lines and funny moments between the characters. He remembers every little detail about her even after 12 years and truly had never wanted anyone but her. However, it got to a point where I started to feel like Willow was giving in to Weston too easily, especially because his reason for originally breaking up with her didn’t make much sense at all. If he had done some honest groveling I think that I would have liked him more. Instead he came off as too sure of himself and even a little arrogant which I didn’t love.

With all of that being said, after the last two books I am intrigued by the next couple in this series so I will likely continue the series!

Thank you to the author and Luna Literary for this eARC!

Elle Jordan is a new to me author and I have not read the first book in the Windy Peaks series (Spurred On).
I’m forever in my Cowboy Romance Era, Second chance, childhood sweethearts reconnecting after 12 years apart - all the tropes I love! So I was very excited about this new to me series.

This is the story of Weston & Willow.
They were childhood sweethearts when growing up in Windy Peaks Wyoming, but broke up the night before Willow went to college in New York.
Now twelve years later they meet again and he is trying to prove that he is worthy of a second chance at live with Willow.

I loved the connection between Weston & Willow, the setting of the story and little details. I will definitely continue reading this series!

💔 The One That Got Away

There’s a kind of magic when you begin a book and are immediately riveted by the characters and plot in just a few pages. Well, that’s the kind of magic I felt when I started reading Roped In.

If there’s one thing about me that you should know, it’s that I’m a sucker (pun intended) for a sexy cowboy romance. I’ve read a lot of them and read many similar storylines, but I loved that Elle Jordan put a clever spin on the childhood sweetheart trope and made this book into so much more. If you like the movie Sweet Home Alabama with Reese Witherspoon, you’re going to love this book, because I definitely got those vibes, which made me love it even more.

I hadn’t read Spurred On until a few days ago. Weston was a favourite character of mine in Spurred On so when I found out he had his own book, I was squealing! Thank you to @lovenotes.pr for allowing me this ARC.

Willow and Weston are so good together. They’re cute, fiery and funny. Their history is intense but adds so much to them as people and a couple.

It was a very heartfelt, second chanced romance that I binged within 24 hrs. I couldn’t put the couple down and was super excited to see Ava and Maverick. The meddling families are hilarious and give off cosy vibes as does the beautiful ranch and scenery that they are surrounded by.

Really enjoyed and highly recommend the series so far.
