Wasn't Supposed To Be Yours: A Free Me From You Spin Off
Dionne Henry nearly lost her life behind a married man a year ago. From that point on, she took a vow to never allow love, especially love that shouldn’t have belonged to her in the first place to ever take her peace again. Dionne was once known as the high- maintenance sister, who only dated older, wealthy men. There’s been a shift in her life, causing Dionne to focus on a new chapter. This chapter is now centered around her new luxury brand and finally building something that belongs to her. As much as Dionne wants peace in her life, it gets complicated the moment that Tank comes along.
Tank is younger. He has a past of being wrapped up in the street life, and he’s everything that Dionne swore she would never be attracted to, let alone date. Still, there seems to be something about Tank that Dionne simply can’t shake. Dionne did everything in her power to run from Tank, feeling like nothing would come out of the two of them getting to know each other. Somehow, along the way, there thing became real.

With Tank and Dionne, there test consists of old habits, past pain, and unresolved drama from past situationships, that are all threatening to ruin what possibly could be for them. Dionne is a woman that had to once learn the hard way what it costs to love the wrong man, so she isn’t trying to make that mistake again. This time, she must decide if she’s ready to risk her heart for a love that might finally be worth it.

This one is good but I just feel like the opening chapters were a little dull and didn’t give us a better feeling or connection to the FMC. I grew to like Dionne by the books end but some stuff was predictable. I also kinda feel like with the sisters she follows a specific formula where it’s always a wayward teen storyline included. I wish we got more time spent with the couple just doing other things cus the love declaration felt rushed. Overall it’s good, the editing is a lot better not perfect but def improved. I just feel like it’s too many loose ends that will really take a delicate balance to tie up/correct. I also get that the family is hood but Dionne isn’t so her lack of contact with the police after the first instance w. Garrus weird in itself and kinda a drag, it feels like a piece of filler drama. Like why are you giving the reason you almost died warnings CALL THEM NOW and report the building staff cus why does he even know where you live?

This is the spinoff I didn’t know I needed. Good development of these characters and uncovering more of Dionne’s layers as well as getting to know Tank. I am looking forward to book 2. I would recommend this book.

At this point Ive come to terms that this writing style isn’t for me anymore. I always know what to expect, constant repetition of details (if one character describes, the following line another character will literally say it), a character describing a feeling and the next sentence the same feeling is described with the words just rearranged) every time a character is mentioned you would think we never heard of them before because we are being told about them in detail again with the same details from the introduction (word filler at this point). The writing style makes me feel a little slow, I have to reread a sentence more than once to make it make sense (i feel like I am rewriting the story). - I don’t even know if I disliked the story or not because my previous comments just took away from it. I would of liked to see Dionne go thru her personal development from when she was introduced in the previous book (Like where is the I beg, I trick energy????). Tank def has BDE but I think something is missing, his character could of been hyped a bit more. Its not a hard ⭐️⭐️⭐️ but nevertheless I made it to the end skimming over a lottttttt. Oh oh oh oh and ive said this before, i want the characters to look good but the obession with a nice body, beautiful face, long hair, all the elders looks young for their age is ridiculous. - Im taking a break from this author (ive said this since i didnt finish the previous read from her, I just continue to hope and wish for more). smh

OMG what the heck
Dionne has been thru so traumatic events in her life being rape by her mother boyfriend at age 11. She was shot by her ex-lover Garrus wife on her birthday and someone killed her dog Bagel. Dionne and Tank (aka) Tavion are trying to build a relationship with jealous and pain to keep them apart. Dionne has live with this violation for years she has never told anyone what happen to her until now. when she saw a picture of Tank father. Dionne mother doesn't even known her secret.Rico Tank cousin is rushing to get to Promise and his daughter before anything happens to them he finally told his cousin his confession he being going thru for last two years. It was great to read about Free and Tommy Dionne sister. Free and June are Married and have a 6month old daughter. Tommy has two daughters both in college . Tru is doing her side hustle doing hair and going to school. Will Tank and Ricco kill to protect the their women and childern. Can't wait to read Wasn't Supposed To Be Yours 2

loved Tank
As much as I loved Tank’s character, that still wasn’t enough to really save the book for me. I had to skip sooooo many pages to make it through and the amount of errors are insane. This book dragged and honestly I didn’t care for the Dionne character and felt no chemistry btw her and Tank even after they finally got together. I felt like the book dragged mostly because of all the unnecessary details. Esp at the beginning describing everybody’s body type. Every female in the book was perfectly shaped I got didn’t need it to be described for every woman. Then all the tiny details “I grabbed my towel, turned on the water, got in the shower, soaped up the towel, wash my body, then rinsed off” (this may not be the exact thing but just to show example. It was too much. I may read the next one just to see what happened with Rico. But I’m not excited about it.

I knew my imagination was not going haywire and knew I hit the nail on the head regarding Dionne’s trauma! Dionne is a person that keeps all her secrets close to her chest! This trauma shaped her on how she handled these sugar daddies!
This book was a slow burn for me and I’m loving me some Tank! He’s a man of action, but will bide his time because he ain’t trying to run after no woman lol 😂.
Take a ride with this couple because they say opposite attracts. Hoping Dionne will trusts Tank, and her family with what she went on through, and start to heal.
I already checking my fingers off to see how many folks will be going to the upper room!!!

Diamond!!! ..and just like that, another gem in your catalog!! Babyyyy you wrote the heck out of Dionne’s and this is just the beginning!! Then that semi-cliffhanger at the end..ooooweee!! Tank is ten toes down behind those he loves (with his fine ssa) and ain’t about to let up! I loved everything about this one..the character development, the sex scenes, the in depth details..loved it ALL and quite frankly, I’m already in desperate need of part TWO!! I’m definitely mad i finished to early because that endinggggg i knew it would end that way to but just reading it, broke my heart completely. Tank about to take on the world for Dionne and i just hope she lets him!

great storyline, grammar not so much
I loved the storyline but the grammar took away from it. That’s just how good the storyline was or I would’ve given it 2 or 3 stars. From the constant “your” for “you’re” to “tent” instead of “tint, it was constant. Folks say it doesn’t matter but it totally breaks up the story and having to reread for clarity. Too many apps not to edit. Seems like it wasn’t edited. Like at all. Please edit this story.

Awesome Read
Poor Dionne can't catch a break. The best thing about it all, is Tank has her back through all circumstances. Rico has made himself a huge mess that I hope doesn't ruin his future. Toby will make Tank revert back to the old him, and I'm sure June will join him. I can't wait for part two!

Diamond don’t miss! I had to go read Free book i finish her series in two days! When I first started reading Diamond books it started with Law then Korporates Pleasure….she definitely made it to my top 5 authors! Pen game is raw! Chile I need part 2 like yesterday.

Great book! I love that it was a semi slow burn easing us into them. The plot twist at the end was good! I can’t wait for part 2 and 3. I already know Tanks savage is about to get turned up in more than one way and I’m here for it.
