Jay & Gio
Love at First Blood is a gaming romance. Sol's books are in a league of their own. & honestly, I loved every bit of the found family in this book as well as the diverse representation in the gaming world. Yes, women game.. and yes, women are successful.
Gio is a down bad man for Jay and it is portrayed so beautifully. He would sacrifice himself for her in game and in life.
Jay comes from a family with money but she is juggling so much.. sometimes it's hard to choose but having someone by your side like Gio to support your decisions does help.

I really enjoyed this novel. From the very first page, the author's writing had me hooked. I found the story easy to follow and it had good pacing. The story was cute, had some spicy scenes and a great cast of characters. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

Love at First Blood is the first book in Winter's Heaven King's series. This friends-to-lovers, contemporary, spicy, gaming romance features Jay Song and Gio Rivera.
Gio is the captain of a team which plays Stormy Horizons (SYH), a PC MOBA game. Jay wants on the team, and she's good. When one of the team's players falls ill, she gets called up. While she may be one of the only women who plays, she has skills and is all too happy to prove herself.
When Gio first saw her, there was an instant attraction, but when she became one of his teammates, he tried to convince himself she was off-limits. Of course when there is mutual attraction that becomes an uphill battle. They thought they'd get it out of their system. Spoiler... they didn't. When the physical adds an emotional component, things get a little more complicated. To make matters worse, both are keeping secrets from the other. Gio is planning his retirement from professional gaming, and Jay isn't quite who she says she is. Keeping secrets is never a good idea...
While the gaming aspect of this book pretty much went over my head, I enjoyed the dynamic between the main characters, and their friends. Gio and Jay have great chemistry together; they can't seem to get enough of each other. I could also see how Winter laid the foundation for at least two more love stories from this first installment. Time will tell if I'm right.
Overall this was an engaging and entertaining read. I enjoyed getting to know Jay and Gio and hope to get snippets of them in future books.

This is a story of gamers one is Gio who is hoping to retire after one more game, the other is Jay a rich girl from New York whose family own a group of international hotels.
When one of the players fall ill Gio rings Jay to ask if she can cover and get them into the finals in Tokyo and she agrees while trying to keep her gaming a secret from her family.
Loved how they bond while both keeping secrets and the chemistry that build up between them which makes a great story full of twists.
Would recommend.

Steamy and unique esports romance
I loved this unique take on steamy romance! Gio is a super cool MMC and Jay's fierce character is a fresh take on all my recent bullied FMCs that I've been reading. Esports was a pleasant surprise as well. I will definitely be reading more from this author. Given that this is the first of a series, I'm so excited about what's in store for the others in the story such as Grayson, Raelynn, rekker and also the rich ones Kai and Aly!
