Thanks to Deirdre, relations between humans and spirits in the Azelian Empire are on the mend. And now that she’s finally six years old, the world beyond the castle walls is her oyster! She can visit town, attend tea parties, meet new friends, and maybe even find that special someone... But the illusion of a normal life is quickly shattered when Deirdre is once more thrust into the power struggles between the imperial family and the high-ranking nobility. With tensions escalating toward civil war and a looming threat to not just the spirits, but to all who dare remain loyal to them, the path ahead is perilous. To protect her precious friends and family, Deirdre has no choice but to borrow the Royal Spirits’ power, gather allies, and uncover the truth about the imperial family. But wait—what happened to her normal romance?!
Ahhhh, the story just gets better with each book. I need and want the next ones please. Absolutely obsessed and in love with the characters and their adventures. Kinda a little bittersweet and sad for the crown prince though, especially what was revealed at the ending.
I think this will improve the further we get in but it's pretty good. A little rough in spots where they try to overly-explain certain things instead of gradually revealing them.
