November 1942 Lizzie Beaumont's first mission on German soil takes her to Berlin—deep inside the evil heart of the Reich—into a web of spies, secrets, and danger at every turn.
Posing as Alsatian war widows and sisters-in-law, SOE agent Lizzie and Jewish Resistance agent Hannah Stein are tasked with extracting intelligence on Hitler's secret weapons that could bring Britain to her knees.
But hidden within Berlin's shadows are hunted, defiant Jews — determined to survive. A forger living underground, a little orphan girl concealed in a convent, a family torn apart by the Reich's murderous racial laws.
Meanwhile, a ruthless Nazi official is watching — and in London, Captain Jack King discovers the woman he loves is in the line of fire.
Everyone has a secret in wartime. What will Lizzie's cost her?
A heartwrenching story of love, loss, and sacrifice in the dark heart of Nazi Germany.
Rachel Henke’s novels are historical romantic adventures about strong women and tortured heroes, destined to be together against all odds.
She dreamt of being a novelist since she was seven years old and her dream came true at fifty!
Rachel lives with her real-life romantic hero in the beautiful Surrey town of Weybridge, where the Rivers Wey and Thames meet. She spends her days drinking excellent coffee, telling tales, and meeting the incessant demands of their bossy toy poodle.
Rachel also writes as R.A. Henke where she crafts captivating contemporary billionaire romance novels in the Rochesters series, delivering intensely emotional stories that explore the redemptive power of love.
Secrets in Berlin is a dangerously intense book that is guaranteed to raise your blood pressure. One of my favorite characters from earlier in the series, Hannah Stein, joins Lizzie on this latest SOE mission. For the first time, they are sent to Berlin, where there is no safehouse or resistance members to help them and no radio to contact London. The women are quite literally walking into the lion's den without backup! It's pure insanity. Make sure you have cleared your schedule and have found a quiet spot before you start reading Secrets in Berlin, because you won't want to be interrupted. (You'll need snacks to keep up your energy and a big box of tissues, too.) This is a terrific addition to the outstanding Seagrove and Raven series.
Book 5 in this historic fiction series that takes place during WWII. It’s no ember of 1942 and Lizzie has her most daring mission yet - joining Hannah and posing as war widows, they are send by the SOE to Berlin to meet a contact who has important details on a Nazi secret weapon that could change the course of the war. Met with danger at every turn, their mission is perilous and non-stop action from start to finish. I am a big fan of this series and am sorry I have to wait until late this year for the next book!
I started reading this series about Seagrove & Raven when I grew tired of books that were so predictable. I have been so surprised by the way this author has written her books I can’t predict the ending and I can’t wait for the next book.
For me, this was the best Raven & Seagrove novel. It was full of intense suspense. I giggled, cried, & held my breath. I love these characters! So, I am impatiently awaiting the next Raven & Seagrove novel.
