I enjoyed this story from start to finish. It starts with two people getting it together at a Christmas party, while trapped on a roof. They don’t exchange names or even see each other properly due to it being dark. They meet up again when Riley takes her son to the hospital where Cameron works. They both don’t realise that they have met before ( yes Noah is his son) Nice characters and a cute kid. With plenty happening along the way. PS I needed tissue for this story
I loved the story line and the characters but couldn't overlook the fact that it was poorly edited. My daughter is an editor and as such, I always read while noticing things that my daughter never would have missed. I noticed that several times the wrong character's name was used. I also noted incorrect use of words, such as "too" being used when the correct word should have been "two". There were a few more errors but since I didn't write them down, those are all that I can remember at this time. That's the only reason that I deducted one star.
I love an accidental pregnancy romance. This one was a little different from the other ones from Mia Mara. The two characters had a brief encounter and, since it was dark, didn’t see each other. They left without exchanging any information. She gets pregnant, of course, and raises her son on her own for five years. That’s a long time. Her son, though, has Cystic Fibrosis with serious health challenges. Though they reconnect with the father of her son through the hospital since he’s the doctor, neither of them realizes it.
I was like, How is this going to come together. It did take a bit. I was frustrated with the MMC. I did not like his brother. But it all worked out in the end.
Thank you to Booksprout and Author Mia Mara for the gifted e-copy I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Chapter 17 Riley "Trevyn says while dancing. He's black, he can do that..." Racist? Chapter 29. confrontation between brothers his brother plans to expose the marriage plan to void the inhertance which henows claims: "At least what I'm doing has the powe to save the hospital." ???? Chapter 30 They won't let her ride in ambulance with her child ??? Chapter 33 his former wife's test came back formal ? normal?
Somebody get her an editor and bring her around children, because she’s clearly never been around kids. The story line has potential, but just like all of her books, there’s no depth and grammatical errors ruin the story. Usually I can get past that and just enjoy it for what it is - a light spicy read, but this one just didn’t work for me.
This is really one of the best books I have read in quite a while. It is sexy, heart warming, heart breaking and funny as all get out! I fell in love with all of the characters and when I realized they could be anyone on the street, well, I loved them even more. I can't wait to read the next one in the series!
This was a really fun and lovely story. It would probably be about a 3.5 stars but the amount of typos was just ridiculous! The first few were kinda ok but when the wrong characters name was used and then there were more and more...nah just made me mad.
Age gap romances were never really my thing, but Mia Mara has made me a fan! The witty banter and sarcastic humor had me instantly hooked.
Riley and Cameron meet after an unfortunate encounter that leads to a big surprise. Their chemistry was instant and sizzling hot. Now, five years later, fate has thrown them back together.v Riley is spunky and fiercely independent, the perfect balance for Cameron, who's sarcastic and caring. They are thrown into a crazy situation and I loved it every minute of it!
I knew this book was going to be good but not this good! The perfect balance of built up tension, heartfelt moments, and steam! This fake relationship rom-com was exactly what I needed! This is by far my favorite Mia Mara book...and I love them all!

Personally I was excited about this book. However it was hard to read sometimes. I honestly began to hate them both. Cameron and Riley. Riley just used people. Cameron was oh no I can't have kids let me push them away because if he isn't mine I'll be heartbroken. DUDE when they "got" together he "knew" it wasn't his son. Ooh plot twist Noah is his. Then there were mistakes through the whole book. Characters with the wrong have your left guessing who it really was. Then the epilogue is one year later but reads like it's one month later. The time line doesn't make sense.

This book had issues. There were grammatical errors all over, and missing words here and there. Add all that in with the author using the wrong character name in a conversation, and you have the beginning of something that could be super confusing.
There was some potential in this book, but the author kindof ruined it. I have to admit it: I honestly didn't like Cameron at the beginning. On the rooftop, their banter felt strange, and I couldn't figure out why they even slept together. Later when they met again, I still didn't like him. He was too arrogant and the fact that he was legitimately flirting with her in her son's hospital room felt icky.
I didnt really feel much emotion from the characters. I was really hoping that she would make him grovel more. He flat out dropped her and refused to believe the kid was his, and only once he proved he was, did he go back and explain. It shouldn't have hinged on those results, and since it did, I don't believe him much.
I may or may not read the next book in the series. This one was just not what I was hoping for.

The overall story of Riley and Cameron was enjoyable as I love a good age gap and accidental pregnancy. They had clear chemistry and seemed to be good for each other. Their little boy, Noah, was definitely the most adorable thing ever!
That being said, there were so many things that made me not be able to rate this higher. There were lots of typos using incorrect characters names, spelling, and changing information. How was Cameron 43 at the beginning of the book and 45 later in it when this was took place only over a couple of months?! Plus, how is Noah 5 when the ONS was 5 years ago?! At best, he'd be 4 approaching 5...
There was also lack of research when it came to medical items - mainly recovery time after lung replacement. While I'd love to see Noah up & feeling so wonderful to be in the play after what appears to be a quick recovery. Recovery time is going to take MONTHS and that's after a 2-3 week hospitalization. He appeared to be up & going after just a few days which is just not realistic.

Mia Mara knocks another one out of the park with Accidental Christmas Daddy. Riley and Cameron have a brief, no name, tryst at a Christmas party. Jump forward five years and Riley is a single mom struggling to make ends meet with a son who needs a new set of lungs. Cameron becomes his doctor at his hospital's clinic. The romance between these two grows gradually into something stronger. But the kicker is, Cameron has a failed marriage because he couldn't have kids. So he figures there is no way that Riley's son is his. The characters are well written and so easy to identify with. The story is well paced and just flows. Riley's son is beyond adorable. You won't be able to wait to get to their happily every after.

The story had all the right elements including good characters, dialogue, pace; good conflict, a marriage of convenience that falls apart. I've read a few other books by this author and they are all 'just ok'. Similar plots with age gaps, surprise pregnancies (no birth control discussions), OTT characters.
Unfortunately, the writing just wasn't strong enough. I dropped a star because there is no way a 5-year-old talks the way Noah does. Their insta-love was built on just a few dates and good sex. It becomes overly sentimental. His brother is a real jerk but one good conversation and their relationship is OK. The epilogue is one year later and she meets Sarah, his sister, again. What? After a year of dating, she never saw his sister until a year later? Nah.
The proofreading was lacking or missing. Example: "eves dropping" for eavesdropping. Many errors; not professional.
The story itself was perfectly fine, cruising along familiar tropes. Nothing wild, nothing terrible — just a comfy, predictable ride.
The editing, however, felt like it had wandered off for a snack break and never fully returned. I can usually shrug off a typo or two, but this was more like a “spot the mistake” puzzle on every other page. Wrong character names popping in like surprise guests, words swapping places like they were playing tag, sentences that seemed to be experimenting with abstract art… as someone who works in editing/writing, my eye twitched more than not.
I did finish it — mostly by alternating it with another book like a literary palate cleanser.
With cleaner editing, this could’ve landed in the 3.5–4 star zone. As it is, 2 stars is the best my brain (and my red pen) could manage.
⭐️⭐️ One star for actually writing a book, and another one for the idea.
Cameron and Riley met in darkness as they were locked out on a freezing rooftop. Because of the darkness their facial features were blurred. A sexy encounter and then she disappeared. Fate brings them back together when her five year old son, Noah gets sick and she takes him to the ER. You guessed it, imagine who the ER doctor was? The sexy stranger from over five years ago. A cute book with some twists as they start connecting the dots. Mia did a great job with this book and it was a delight to read. No cliffhanger and an HEA. I throughly enjoyed reading this book. It has the right amount of angst and happiness in it. It does focus on children with terminal illnesses and their tough fortitude. This book is about a single mother and her son that has CF. It is also about his wishes for Christmas and how they come true. Cameron and Riley have instant chemistry and their sexual tension is off the roof. They lust really hard for each other. This a good storyline and the characters felt very realistic. The author did an amazing job with this story.

Cameron and Riley met at a Christmas Party where both were tipsy and had sex on a rooftop as they got locked out on the roof. Five years later Riley and Noah, her son who has CF meet Cameron at the hospital where he's A doctor. He becomes Noah's doctor and he and Riley go on a date. They hit it off but neither realized that the other is the one from the rooftop party. Noah needs a lung transplant and the free hospital is going broke. Cameron dad died and left a lot of money if he is married he can get the money to save the hospital but his brother Josh is hateful and tries to keep him from getting the money. All in all its a lovely story.
This story was so touching that you felt the pain and struggles of a mom who was fighting for her son’s life. A drunken one night stand, a job she hated and a doctor fighting to save his father’s legacy. The story was well written and kept you invested in seeing how the love triangle was going to give them their happily ever after. Her son stole the show because even though he had an illness, he was strong and courageous. Beautiful Christmas story with a happy ending. I recommend reading this book.
The blurb is misleading... We're led to believe that Riley figures out who Cameron is early on after meeting him again five years later. And that she knows who Noah's father is...finally. But Riley doesn't figure things out until well after reconnecting with Cameron, and she tells him very soon thereafter. I prefer the way everything went down in the actual book: that means that the blurb should probably be updated. BTW: I was sure Riley was pregnant again by the time her and Cameron's engagement blew up in their faces....
The summary mostly says it all. It was a bit of a coincidence that he was a specialist in the condition their son had. I do wish she would/could have confessed the son thing earlier but I guess she didn’t really realize he had been the Santa she hooked up with. He thinks he can’t have kids so that complicates things when she finally confronts him. He doesn’t want to get a paternity test because he doesn’t want to potentially be devastated that he is not his son. But he finally does ❤️ he is overjoyed.
Hea - proposal 1 year later on the rooftop

A series of random events leading to Riley and Cameron being trapped on a dark rooftop leads to both not being able to recognize each other in the light of day. Can they figure it out and connect the dots to everything that occurred that evening?
Trigger Warning: There are mentions of very sick children, one being a significant character.

Mia Mara has become a favourite of mine, i have been reading a few of her books. This one did not disappoint it was a lovely story which had me laughing out loud, and almost crying. Riley and Cameron are a wonderful couple and Noah is so sweet, the ups and downs of their relationship kept the story moving, and it ended with a wonderful happy ever after.

This was so yummy and cute! Silver fox doctor is on call.
A fun holiday age-gap romance that had me giggling and kicking my feet. Not only was this a heartwarming story but also sexy and steamy, it was such a fun read.
The MCs were easy to like and well-written. The tension, banter, and steam between Riley and Cameron had me laughing, swooning, and melting. An absolute page-turner.
Tropes: Age-gap Single mom Fake engagement Silver fox Millionaire doctor Dual POV
Mia Mara is the queen of writing age gap romance. They are sweet, spicy and not cringy at all! 5 years ago, two people get locked on a rooftop after they try and escape a Hospital’s Christmas party. Five years later, a single mom has a sick kid that goes into a hospital and the person that she hooked up with on the roof is now her kids doctor (they find this out later). Such a good and sweet Christmas book!!! LOVE Mia’s books!!
Well written story and well developed characters! They met the first time on a rooftop, in the dark, and couldn't really see each other. Years later, they meet again. But don't recognize each other. She is a single mom, with a very sick child, just trying to make ends meet. He is a doctor treating her child. They feel an instant connection. Don't understand it and screw it all up! Gotta love a good book!!
This book is really, really good. Wonderful character development with plenty of characters and dialogue.
Reason for three stars is that there was no editing. I cannot abide a book with poor editing. Words missing. Wrong use of words. My copy of this book is filled with yellow highlights and bookmarks and not in a good way. Sorry not sorry. It's a shame, because this author is a good storyteller.
I just lost a lengthier review, sharing why I DNF. Short version:
If you don’t care about pesky things like spelling, grammar, accuracy about legal and medical content, continuity errors, character names being consistent, the use of “Frisco” (iykyk), maybe there’s a plot some people might find tolerable.
For better or worse, I care; and I feel it’s particularly/egregiously insulting when an author can’t be bothered to run simple spelling and grammar checks, at the very least.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The reasons for the fake relationship were very good and different from most others in this trope. Yes, there is angst on both sides but not to much to bother me. Well written with wonderful characters and great steam. I will definitely be reading more by the author.
OMG from the sexy sexy silver fox on the cover to the romance between Cameron and Riley this book is like a magnet. One click and you’re going to be glued to your kindle until your 100% finished reading this 10-star romance book. I am not kidding Mia has a best seller right here just waiting for you to get your hands on.
I thought that this was a really wonderful read. Romance and holiday charm are combined with big Feels, intense emotions, sweetness, spice, cuteness, drama and heart into a seductive and engaging story that had my heart melting into a pile of sappy goo for Riley and Cameron and precious little Noah.
