Scott has never had much luck in life. Luck to him is a magical concept outside of his cold reality.

All he really wants is a princess to call his own, a damsel he can protect from distress. He knows that life is not a fairytale but he’s willing to cut through the storybook and rip the magic from the pages.

He will have his fairytale ending, no matter how many lives he has to end to achieve it.

If you could choose a princess to be your wife, who would it be? Ariel? Cinderella? Snow White? Aurora? How about all 4? Scott is a "good boy", a gentleman. However, Scott was raised to believe that he was bad for even existing. Treated like shit, and less of a human than his sister, his parents forbade Scott his dream of being a dashing prince, like Prince charming, a hero of the story, as they told him that fairy tales were for girls. As he gets older, Scott finds himself in a situation of extreme loneliness, and has a deep longing to find his princess, and live happily ever after. He is hellbent on finding his perfect princess, and proving to himself that he does deserve true love, and that his dreams can come true. After many failed, and bloody attempts, bordering on torture, Scott reaches the depths of hopelessness. Will he ever find his princess? His one true love? How far will he go, in order to make this fairy tale a reality? I highly enjoyed this! This was a wild ride, and, if you are a fan of popular fairy tales, and, also, extreme horror, this is definitely for you! Chapter 9 is particularly sad to read, as it gets further into how cruel Scott's family actually was to him, just for being a little boy, full of imagination, and wonder. You really feel for Scott, even though he is unhinged. In his mind, he means well with all of his actions, but was raised so violently that his mind becomes warped, and be becomes obsessed with the "perfect wife". I highly recommend this, having grown up on cartoons of this nature, as well as horror. This was a beautiful blend of the two!

The mermaid, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and
Cinderella - who does Scott want to be his princess, his happily ever after? Or does he even have a choice in the matter?

I absolutely devoured this book in one night! Lula Von Goth has once again proven herself a master at weaving whimsy and horror together; that beautiful clash of fairytale charm with gut wrenching brutality.

The story centres around Scott, a man shattered by a lifetime of abuse from his so called parents. It's easy to see how he became so twisted, and at times, I found myself pitying him even as an adult - that small, broken boy still buried inside, but then the cruelty he inflicts snaps you right back to reality. In Scott's warped mind, he believes he's caring for the girls he traps, unable to see the difference between love and control. It's that psychological tug-of-war that makes this book such a mindfuck in the best way possible.

The writing is incredible, darkly poetic, and emotionally charged. As someone who already adores Lula's work, I'm not at all surprised by how brilliant this one is. The torment Scott's 'princesses' endure is heartbreaking and horrifying - I felt every moment of it and I loved every minute!

Outstanding. This book is very short but wow it sure packs a punch. It's a very hard hitting story about abuse, needing to be loved, and mental health. The story is actually heartbreaking but so well written. Please check tw if you have any.

Have you ever wanted to be a Disney princess?

I bet that after reading this book, you’ll think twice about it.

Time to meet Scott. Scott has his own idea of what a princess should be, like someone he can care for, someone who helps him reach his happily ever after.

And Scott will go the extra mile to find that red haired princess, or the fairest of them all. Once he does, whether they agree to a fairytale life or not, he has a few unconventional methods to make sure they stay… forever.

If you’ve read a Lula book, you already know how raw and brutal her stories can be. And if you haven’t, what are you waiting for?

Beauty and Deceit is only 49 pages long, but the body horror is absolute chef’s kiss. It will make your skin crawl and steal your breath.

Unhinged, intense, and completely wild so if extreme horror is your thing, add this one to your TBR.

It’s totally worth it!

Short, raw and wastes no time getting to business. Lula Von Goth pulls no punches in this one. As a man, I may struggle to remove chapter five from my brain... ever. It's vivid, uncomfortable and a very cool concept. If you haven't got the ARC ... Look out for this one on release. It's a banger.

Title: Beauty and Deceit

Genre: Extreme Horror

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Emotional damage level:❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

First, huge thanks to Lula Von Goth for the ARC. I had an incredible time reading this one.

Have you ever seen those YouTube videos where someone takes a Disney coloring book and turns it into something twisted and dark? Well, that’s exactly what this book feels like.

Beauty and Deceit introduces us to Scott, a man who grew up in a home that ignored and mistreated him. All he ever wanted was to be loved, to live his own fairytale. Is that too much to ask? Then one day, he finally gets a chance to make that dream come true… and begins searching for his princess.

He finds his Little Mermaid, his Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. He treasures them (or at least he believes he does). But one by one, they slip away. Why can’t he find happiness? Why can’t any of them love him the way he loves them?

This book made me feel so much. Above all, I felt sadness. Yes, Scott is a terrible man, but his backstory is so heartbreaking that you can’t help but feel for him. Lula wrote him with such depth that it’s impossible not to empathize, even for a second. I despised what he became, but I also pitied the boy he once was. I genuinely wanted him to find peace and his princess. Silly me—this is extreme horror, there’s no happy ending here 😂

The ending left me staring at the wall, processing what just happened. I went into this one blind, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s going to stay with me for a long time.

Thank you again, Lula, for this haunting story.

And you? Go grab your copy —you won’t regret it.

Beauty and Deceit is another winner from author Lula Von Goth. This time, she gives us Scott, a lonely guy who only wants to be loved and have his own fairytale, with a princess as his wife. That's not too much to ask, right?

Scott has always been treated horribly by his family, and all he truly wants is a fairytale ending; he is hellbent on finding it. Just when he believes he has found his princess, he is only disappointed, having to start his search again.

Wow, the lengths Scott will go to find the one! This torturous story will show you the lengths someone would go through to find “the one”. You want to pity poor Scott for the lifetime of abuse and his wistful and whimsical take on relationships, then you remember just how unhinged he is! I enjoyed every bloody moment of it!

What are you willing to do to find love?

Thanks to Lula Von Goth for gifting me an eARC of Beauty and Deceit. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lula Von Goth never ceases to amaze me with her work. She is elite in her craft! "Beauty and Deceit" is a disturbing tale into the horrific depths of childhood trauma that leads to the most insane acts of depravity. All in the name of a twisted and warped vision of love. In a bleak world filled with ugly truths, the reader is taken on a twisted ride into Scott's rapid descent into madness, which leads to an ultimate break from reality. The writing was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I was "almost" sympathetic to Scott's plight.

Don't let the lovely cover art fool you! Proceed with caution as this story is an anti fairy-tale of extreme horror. One that I, personally, did not want to end. ☠️🩸⚰️👑

Many thanks for the ARC! ✨️🧚‍♀️☠️🧜‍♀️🖤👸⛓️

Goodbye my childhood memories of beautiful princesses with happily ever after stories. What has imprinted in my memory now was poor souls lost in the hands of an unhinged "prince" with a gory ever after.

Growing up, Scott always felt unloved, unworthy and was treated badly by everyone, including his own parents and sister. Finding his own happiness and fairytale love was all he wanted. But his version of princesses was not in ball gowns but shackles. The ending was just mind-blowing and, damn, I didn't see it coming. 🫣

Beauty and Deceit
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one was DARK. Scott was not handed the best hand of cards in terms of his childhood . Abuse, trauma and more puts him in a place nobody could possibly understand, all he ever wanted was to be loved. He wants to marry his princess and live happily ever after, but with someone who has never experienced any form of love "love "....step into the Gruesome world that is Scott's. Meet his princess'⁶s and wait to see how everything plays out in this Fairytale or is it really just a bizzare NIGHTMARE . Go get this one and let me know what you think about it

I had the chance to read this early , and OMG it's so much fun (just not so much for the "princesses"). Lula does a great job at making you feel sorry for Scott, even as he uses brutal methods to find the princess just for him. All he wants is for his life to be like the fairytales he's heard of.
It might be short, but this story packs a punch and can be very brutal at times. It's also perfect if you're a bit behind on the reading goals 😉

Another fabulous and nasty story by Lula. Haven't read a bad one yet and she just keeps getting better.
This one is an extreme version of a fairy story retelling. All poor Scott wants is to be loved, find someone he can settle down with and be happy. But when it doesn't happen, he decides he's going to make them love him. Whether they like it or not...
Fast paced as always, some great writing and some nasty scenes for the extreme horror fans, another winner!

A fearsome fairytale

Scott just wants his Happy Ever After! Instead he gets a Happy Never After...
Scott had an awful upbringing and craves a world in which he can be the sweet prince he KNOWS he is!
Now, if those princesses could just sort their shit out and stop f*cking it all up for him, that would be great!
Sleeping beauty, Snow White, Cinderella all get reimagined in Lula's trademark, brutal style.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tale!

Great little read

Poor Scott had an appalling childhood. One day he flips and kills them. He then starts the search for his perfect princess. Will he find true love, or will his dreams be crushed?

Scott grew up in a very harsh environment and now he's searching for his happily ever after. Scott spends his time searching for his perfect princess, his one true love. No matter how many women he finds that he thinks is "the one" in the end he realizes his "one" was never very far away.
