I picked up Conspiracy by Colleen Coble without realizing it was the third book in the Sanctuary series, which made it an unexpected test of whether the story could stand on its own. Fortunately, I never felt completely lost, though it was obvious there were relationships and events from earlier books that added extra depth for returning readers. What initially drew me in was the premise alone: dark family secrets, a slow-burn romance, and a leopard trained to stalk people. That’s not a combination you encounter every day.
Paradise Alden works as a wildlife veterinarian at The Sanctuary, an animal refuge in Alabama owned by Jenna Lawson, the mother of Paradise’s boyfriend, Blake. From the beginning, Paradise is determined to uncover the truth behind her parents’ long-unsolved murders. The novel wastes no time throwing her into danger. She is stalked by a leopard, attacked by an unknown assailant at a marina, and quickly finds herself at the center of a mystery that only grows more complicated as buried secrets begin to surface.
One of the more interesting aspects of the story is how the animal refuge is woven into the suspense plot. The title refers both to the mystery at the heart of the novel and to the collective noun for a group of lemurs—a conspiracy. I also learned that Alabama’s exotic animal laws are surprisingly permissive. At one point, a character named Creed owns a lemur he reportedly won in a poker game, which sounds absurd enough to be fiction, yet fits perfectly into the novel’s unusual setting. The Sanctuary’s work rescuing neglected animals adds an extra layer of heart to the story.
As Paradise investigates her parents’ deaths alongside Blake and her recently discovered half-brother Drew, new clues emerge through a childhood diary that unlocks memories she had long forgotten. I found this aspect particularly compelling because it tied the present-day mystery to Paradise’s traumatic past and gradually revealed how much she still didn’t know about her own history.
The book does not shy away from difficult subjects. Paradise’s life after her parents’ deaths was marked by significant trauma, including abuse while in foster care. Coble presents a recurring theme that suffering can lead people to appreciate goodness and faith more deeply. While I understand the intent behind that message, it was one aspect of the novel that didn’t fully resonate with me. Some forms of trauma are so devastating that I struggle with the idea of viewing them as necessary parts of a larger plan.
Readers should also know that this is very much Christian romantic suspense. Expressions of faith are frequent, prayers are common, and gratitude toward God is woven throughout the story. The romance remains extremely clean, focusing on commitment, trust, and emotional connection rather than physical intimacy. At the same time, the suspense can be surprisingly intense. There are multiple attacks, attempted murders, and graphic descriptions of injuries that make the danger feel real.
What kept me listening was the pacing. The story rarely slows down for long before another clue, revelation, or threat appears. The mystery surrounding Paradise’s parents unfolds steadily, and the constant sense of danger creates genuine momentum. Karen Peakes’s narration elevates the audiobook even further. She gives the characters distinct voices and accents that make it easy to follow conversations and distinguish personalities.
Overall, Conspiracy delivered exactly what it promises: a fast-moving blend of mystery, danger, faith, and romance set against the unique backdrop of an exotic animal sanctuary. While some of the book’s spiritual themes didn’t align with my own views, readers looking for Christian suspense packed with intrigue, family secrets, and plenty of action will likely find a lot to enjoy.

Conspiracy by Colleen Coble is another 5-star read for me! In fact, every book in the Sanctuary series has earned 5 stars.
This story kept me guessing from beginning to end. There were so many villains to suspect—and so many to loathe—that I never completely figured out who was behind it all until the big reveal.
I continue to love Paradise and Blake as main characters, and Blake’s family adds so much heart to the story. Their relationships feel genuine and make the suspense even more engaging.
I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator was outstanding. The voices for Blake’s little brother were especially well done and added so much personality and charm to the listening experience.
As always, I appreciated the lovely, sweet faith content woven naturally throughout the story. It added depth and hope without overwhelming the plot.

Conspiracy wraps up the Sanctuary series with nonstop suspense, emotional closure, and a final puzzle that ties every thread together. Secrets, close calls, and family loyalty drive the story toward a tense, satisfying finish. I loved how the spiritual and relational arcs deepen alongside the danger, it feels like a true finale.

What a satisfying conclusion to this series. While Blake and Paradise should have been focusing on their HEA, they and Paradise's newly found brother Drew are digging into the murders of Paradise's parents and Drew's dad. However, someone is determined to not let the truth be revealed. Packed full of suspense, secrets, attacks, twists and turns, and heart-pounding close calls, Conspiracy is a clean romantic suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I really enjoyed the entire Sanctuary series by Colleen Coble which included Ambush, Prowl and Conspiracy. However, Conspiracy was by far my favorite book in the series. I listened to the audiobook that was well narrated by Karen Peakes. She did a wonderful job of giving each character a distinct voice and capturing both the tension and the heartfelt moments in the book. Her narration kept me completely immersed from beginning to end.
In Conspiracy, the stakes felt higher than ever as Paradise and Blake raced to uncover the truth behind the dangerous occurrences that tried to scare Paradise and Blake from solving what had happened to Paradise during her childhood. I enjoyed witnessing Blake’s and Paradise’s relationship continue to grow through all the dangers and obstacles they faced. This finale in the Sanctuary series was especially satisfying as all the pieces came together and were answered in a way that was believable while still delivering plenty of twists that left me at the edge of my seat at times. Conspiracy combined the elements of mystery, heartfelt relationships and hope. All these elements made Conspiracy an unforgettable conclusion to this series. If you enjoyed the Sanctuary series, Conspiracy is a must read and, without a doubt, my favorite of the three books in this series. I recommend it highly.

Conspiracy is the third and final installment in the Sanctuary series, a trilogy of Christian romantic suspense novels following Paradise Alden, a wildlife veterinarian, and Blake Lawson, co-owner of the wildlife sanctuary at which she works. The two have weathered tremendous heartache in the past as well as much more recent threats as they dig into the cold case murder of Paradise’s parents. Someone is determined to keep the truth from being discovered, and that someone is powerful and well connected. But Paradise and Blake—along with Paradise’s recently discovered, police detective half-brother, Drew—are even more determined to see justice served. Can they persevere through the attacks and bring the conspiracy into the light?
One of my favorite aspects of this particular installment was the double meaning of the title. The first meaning is obvious: unraveling the conspiracy that ended in four deaths decades ago and continues to this day to terrorize Paradise and those she’s grown to love. But the secondary meaning is linked to the animal on the front cover. A group of lemurs is called a conspiracy. Despite the name, these tight knit families are vital to each and every lemur; they cannot flourish alone, apart from a family unit. And that is a huge emphasis in this series overall, but specifically in this final installment. We see Paradise finally letting her guard down and completely opening up her heart to this wonderful found family God has built up around her. I loved this emphasis on family, especially when it came to sibling relationships.
Conspiracy is where the series hit its stride for me. While I wasn’t wholly engaged by Prowl, the installment preceding this one, I was deeply invested in this final novel. The romance might have elicited an eye roll or two, but I was glad to see Paradise and Blake get their happily ever after. The plot and pacing were tighter in this installment, and the faith element felt balanced and believable. I think this series might have been a stronger story overall if it had been shortened into a duology, but it ended up being a satisfying reading experience in spite of those pacing issues in the second book. If you’re looking for a clean romantic suspense story with a unique twist, I would recommend the Sanctuary series.

Now that Paradise Alden has found her brother, she feels that the answers about their parents' murders are closer, especially when someone sets a trained leopard loose in the sanctuary to hunt Paradise. Despite the warnings, she, her brother Drew, and boyfriend Blake pursue every lead. Drew's skills and connections as a police detective provide access in their efforts to discover the identity of his birth father and the murderers.
This, the third and final book of the Sanctuary Series, is my favorite. Coble surpassed herself, no easy accomplishment. She paces her plot well with high tension and peaceful scenes. This was a "stay-up-past-bedtime" book for me. The double meaning of the title is delightful also.

Conspiracy is the third and final book in the Sanctuary series, and wraps it up nicely. Blake and Paradise are planning a life together, and she has also located her half-brother Drew. Life should be good, but suddenly there is a leopard on the premises, not within the fences and it seems to be stalking Paradise. As she and Drew compare notes, it seems that his family were also murdered, bludgeoned just like Paradise's were. What are the secrets in their pasts that may have caused these deaths? Who is trying to keep them under wraps enough to try and kill Paradise?
Paradise is working hard to overcome her fear of big cats after being attacked prior to the series beginning. Whoever has trained the leopard to stalk Paradise knows about her fear, but what are they trying to keep secret? I do enjoy the setting of the wild animal sanctuary and that Blake's family are trying to help the animals. His younger brothers are present and are the ones that balance out the tense plot. I do enjoy when they appear in the story. Seeing how Drew and Paradise are developing a relationship is wonderful, especially when they both thought they were alone and had no family. With Paradise developing a relationship with her cousins, that she never really knew also adds to her character arc. Once again, the story is quickly paces with lots of suspense and some romance (closed door) that pulled me in. I enjoyed how this series concluded, and was surprised at who was behind it all. There is vengeance, corruption, money, and hatred involved, and I was glad to see all those involved got what they deserved. It was too bad that some people lost their lives due to the secrets and plots. This is a faith based story where the main characters depend on their faith to get them through the tough spots. I enjoyed this final installment, once again narrated by Karen Peakes. She is a narrator that I will not hesitate to listen to again.

Riveting suspense as Paradise and brother Drew try to figure out the decades long mystery of who killed their parents. As the romance plays out for Blake and Paradise, they must hold onto their faith when trouble follows them and endangers the wildlife sanctuary yet again.
The wrap up to the series was exciting and full of surprises. I liked the interaction between Paradise and Blake’s family. The memories keep unfolding for Paradise as she remembers what happened years ago. But if the principal players of that fateful night are gone, who is behind the attempts on her life? Who does not want the truth to come out? This bad guy was really hard to figure out.
Along with the mystery, there are interesting facts about the animals at the sanctuary. I liked that the main characters prayed about each obstacle that came across and chose to leave the outcome to God. Also, I appreciated the crossover characters in other series by this talented author.

In the conclusion to the series, Paradise continues to pursue leads on who killed her parents 15 years ago. The continuing thread on the murder throughout the series makes it even stronger. The series also features an animal sanctuary which ties into Paradise's profession as a veterinarian. The way Paradise's memories return slowly was realistic and built up the suspense.
Narrator Karen Peakes does a nice job.

March 7, 2026Conspiracy is the last book in the Sanctuary series. The first part of the book started out slow for me but by the middle of the book I couldn't put it down. In this book we meet Paradise's half-brother, Drew who turned out to be very likable. In this book Paradise, Blake and Drew investigate who murdered Drew's bio father, and Paradise's parents. Their research reveals secrets that have been burried for 20 years. I was surprised by who the villains were.

Coble once again delivers a captivating story filled with mystery, danger, unexpected twists, and characters readers have come to know and care about. What a wonderful conclusion of the sanctuary novels. Paradise finally finds her brother and together the find out who murdered their parents and his father. She finally gets to be with her true love and they spend the rest of their lives together.

One of my favorite parts of this entire series has been the incredible animal sanctuary setting. The unique wildlife adds so much heart and excitement to the story, and I loved learning about the different animals woven throughout the mystery.
This book is packed with family drama, old and newly uncovered secrets, sabotage, danger, and plenty of edge-of-your-seat suspense. The second chance romance is sweet and completely closed-door, and I appreciated the faith-filled themes that added hope throughout the story.
I also highly recommend the audiobook! Karen Peakes once again did a fantastic job bringing the characters and suspense to life. Her narration made it hard to hit pause.
If you’re looking for a clean romantic suspense series filled with twists, memorable characters, fascinating wildlife, and a mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end, I definitely recommend The Sanctuary Series!

If you’ve been following Paradise Alden’s story, this final installment delivers so many answers to the lingering questions from the first two books. Every chapter seemed to reveal another surprise, and I couldn’t stop listening!

Thriller - Audiobook
This is the 3rd and final book in the Sanctuary Series. It should be read in order to get more context on the characters and the series of events that have led to the events occurring in the series. It could, however, be read as a stand-alone.
Blake and Paradise want to get married, but everything with Sanctuary needs to be settled first. Just when they think all their troubles are behind them, someone lets a panther loose on the property and it almost kills Paradise. Who is behind their troubles, now?
What is good/great - each book in the series has a definite conclusion. There are no huge cliffhangers, but rather more story that needs to be resolved. The plotting is well thought out, different and the action is kept at a pretty high pace. The involvement of the side characters in the story makes for a well-developed story.
What isn't good/great - Paradise and Blake are not detectives, yet somehow, they keep involving themselves in these mysteries and SOLVE THEM! While doing so, Paradise keeps getting injured - it's too much. The breaks for passionate kissing. It's not needed to progress the story and is ultimately distracting to the story Coble is trying to tell.
The book is written from a Christian perspective and some of the religious overtones might irritate some readers.
Overall - I liked this novel and the series. It was a very unique set of mysteries/thrillers.

Wow, this story was so intense! I loved seeing all the pieces of Paradise’s past finally come together in this stunning conclusion. I’ve enjoyed seeing her rekindle her love for Blake & was hoping they’d finally find their happily ever after. Their romance didn’t disappoint, though they’re faced with one frightening obstacle after another as someone’s determined to get Paradise out of the way.
I enjoyed watching Paradise & Drew become closer as siblings while they ferret out the clues to their pasts. It was fun getting to know Drew better & see him find a possible new love interest. With the discover of who Drew’s father was & more family secrets coming to light, the danger escalates with more murders, betrayals, & suspense, culminating in a pulse-pounding, shocking ending that had me on pins & needles.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series & hope that this won’t be the last we see of Paradise, Blake, & Drew. Along the way, I’ve loved learning more about the sanctuary’s animals. Who knew a group of lemurs is called a “conspiracy?” And it was such a treat getting cameos of Hez & Savannah too.
The audiobook was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed the way the narrator voiced each character & really made the story come alive.

This was the best of the 3! I guessed at the gender of the killer but it was so much more than that. There was lots of suspense. There was lots of engagement and a huge build up. I have read Pelican Bay series. I have read Savannah and Hez’s series. I will miss Isaac and Levi. Maybe you can do a series through their young eyes. Children don’t miss much.

What a fantastic conclusion to this series! I loved getting one more adventure with Blake and Paradise. Just when they should be enjoying their happily ever after, they're pulled into a dangerous investigation surrounding the murders of Paradise's parents and Drew's father. As they get closer to the truth, it becomes clear that someone will do anything to keep the past buried.
Conspiracy delivers everything I love in a romantic suspense—nonstop action, shocking twists, hidden secrets, and plenty of heart-pounding moments that kept me turning the pages. Every time I thought I had things figured out, another surprise was waiting around the corner.

Conspiracy by Colleen Coble is the final installment in the Sanctuary series (yes, they need to be read in order). I LOVE the setting - my home state. So many places mentioned that I have visited which makes confirming the details easy. If you love a page-turning suspense this series is for you. Just as I 'thought' I knew how it would end, PLOT TWIST! Also, reading about the exotic animals at the sanctuary was very interesting. But I cannot ignore the romantic aspect. Romance, suspense, beautiful setting, conflict, healing from past scars. family. This series hit all the 'feels' for me.

Wow. What an amazing conclusion to this series. Paradise went through so much in the earlier books that I thought there wasn't much else that could happen. Boy, was I wrong. If you want to know what happens to Paradise and Blake's love story, you need to read this book. New characters are introduced and lots of twists and turns to keep you interested. I couldn't put this down.

Can I give this one 6 stars? The third and final installment of the Sanctuary series, I have been looking forward to this one for months and it did NOT disappoint. 15 year old murder cold case, found family, big cats, lemurs, and more, it grabs you and doesn't let go. And the end? Oh my, the PERFECT epilogue for this series

Wow! What an amazing ending to this series! As always, Colleen's writing blew me away. I never would have guessed who the perpetrators were. The Sanctuary is one of my favorite fictional places to "visit"!
There are a lot of familiar characters and some new ones. Paradise amazes me. She's such a strong and giving person. Blake is extraordinary! His protector characteristic ensures that those he loves remain safe. Isaac and Levi are adorable as always! Their funny antics helped balance the serious content of the story.
The importance of family is prevalent throughout the book. It reminded me to be thankful for the loving and supportive family that I have. It's truly a blessing!

What an ending! Whew! The Sanctuary series was a wild ride. Nothing was ever as it seemed and I was extremely surprised at the killers. Colleen Coble has always been my top favorite romantic suspense Christian author and she just proved why today. Paradise & Blake are in search of answers to who killed her parents and now her brother Drew is in the picture. He’s a police detective, looking into the murder of his father as well since they all happened at the same time. I am impressed with Mrs Coble’s ability to take a story like this and weave all the details together. She always delivers romance, suspense and Jesus into her every book perfectly.

The wildlife park is now safe, but whoever it is who's trying to stop Paradise and her brother Drew from discovering the truth about their parents' deaths is clearly getting more desperate. Paradise and Blake are working to form a new life together, but until this final deadly threat is faced and the mystery solved, it's growing increasingly clear that no one will be safe. As the three dig deeper into the past and the threats escalate, will they manage to unmask the murderer before they kill again?
A great finale to the series, and with the pleasure of seeing more of characters from other series. For those who've read previous books, it ties everything off very satisfyingly, even if I'm sorry to say goodbye to the characters for good. If you haven't, the three are best read as a series but this probably could still be read on its own - but you'll be missing backstory (though I think enough is explained to make it work). I particularly enjoyed the double meaning of the name, with its poignant reminder of the way Paradise has finally been welcomed into her own new family, as well as finding a new brother. The mystery kept me guessing throughout in the best of ways, and there's a good mix of action and character/relationship development. All in all, a great book - recommended.
