I purchased this book at Livraria Lello in Porto, Portugal when I visited the shop. When I mentioned to a salesman that I was interested in Fernando Pessoa, he suggested a couple of books and also this collection (published by the store), which includes a number of his poems.

Overall, the collection spans from the 1100s to the 20th century. I don’t know if it’s the translator or the poems themselves, but some are not all that great. However, many of the more modern poems are really good, including those by Pessoa. There are also typographical and grammatical errors in a couple of the poems.

Recommended only if you have an interest in Portuguese poetry.

Poetry was okay! A lot of Portuguese conquest, which makes sense considering the history of Portugal.
