Grumpy / Sunshine. Hot and cold. An ice sculptor, a hot-chocolate maker—and one thawing heart.
After betrayal left her life in shards, Sloane Winters learned to survive by staying cold. Her ice sculptures are beautiful, fleeting, and safe—just the way she likes them.
Ivy Clarke, the endlessly cheerful owner of The Cozy Cup, believes in second chances and whipped-cream mountains, and runs on cocoa, community, and unshakable optimism. She’s warmth in human form—bright, hopeful, and (to Sloane's chagrin) impossible to ignore.
Forced to share space at the Grand Rapids Christmas Market, Sloane's irritation is countered with Ivy's idealism. She doesn’t expect Ivy’s laughter and kindness, or the spark that starts to melt her walls.
How will Sloane’s icy heart survive the season with Ivy’s chipper chocolate cheer?
A sapphic grumpy-sunshine Christmas romance about healing, second chances, and the kind of love that warms you all the way through.
Ice sculpture. There's a lovely comment about carving the ice. It's not aboutthe sculpture of a tree, it's about slicing away the bits I don't want. Such a great metaphor for life from the Ice Queen. This is a quick easy read but the recipes of the hot chocolate maker in the stall at the market make the taste buds bloom with the romance. Great title
Enemies to Lovers is one of my guilty pleasure tropes. This is a nice version, though the enemies feeling is pretty one sided. The MC had a good reason to be closed off and untrusting after that previous betrayal, but seeing her learn to trust again was really sweet.
Sloane had a girlfriend, Sloane had a business with girlfriend until she found out!
Sloane cuts ice into creations and her partner Patricia did the business end, that is until Sloane realized Patricia sold things under her name and not Sloane. It as was bitter betrayal but Sloane learned to do things herself and was good at what she accomplished. One problem the business owned by Ivy beside her booth sold hot chocolate and was persistent enough to bring Sloane hot chocolate each day. Why is Ivy doing this? They even called her the Ice Queen! How dare she ! What is Ivy trying to prove? Enjoy!
I thought this was a really good book. I like how they started out not liking each other and then got to know each other and finally became partners in everything.
