Queen of Conquest #1

Soul Weaver: A Grimdark Power Progression Fantasy

Rate this book
Betrayed, executed, and reborn, a queen who once ruled through blood and conquest rises to claim her power anew, in the first book of this epic series.

In the ruthless kingdom of Aedronir, Queen Lilith reigned for years through bloodshed and fear. Despite being unmatched on the battlefield, she was far less suited for the throne. Waiting patiently, her enemies put into motion the ultimate betrayal that led to her execution and what should have been her end.

Instead, Lilith's soul awakens in Graedon, a strange new world where mana flows through everything. Reborn as Lilliana, she is the bastard daughter of a baron and is treated as little more than a bargaining piece for marriage. But after her half-sister manipulates her into joining a monster hunt and their camp is attacked, her fate changes. She escapes the massacre, only to be found by slavers who drag her into the brutal world of the gladiatorial games.

Pitted against fae, orcs, dwarves, and even her own kin, Lilith's strength--as well as the unbroken will of the queen she once was--returns with every victory. Meanwhile, the world's System stirs in the shadows, seeking to shape her into a new kind of the first Soul Weaver.

Fueled by an insatiable craving for vengeance, Lilith seeks retribution against those who betrayed her in a past life and all who dare forget their place in this new world. Nothing can stop the path of destruction she leaves in her wake. The inhabitants of Graedon--and the System itself--will soon learn they have unleashed a force that cannot be contained . . .

The first volume of the hit progression fantasy series--with more than a million views on Royal Road--now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook!

Great start!

What an exciting and great start to a nee series. Love the magic and cultivation mix! and the anti hero is awesome.

The story feels something like 'Queen of the South' (netflix) - one woman's gritty fight for dominance and power. Vengeance is a thick goop covering every page of the book. I only have one confusion - why was the MC captured and executed, if she was as talented and defiant as we see later in the book?? Very interesting heart core vs magic vs the system in an ultralight litrpg genre. I definitely want more so I donated to the author to say thanks.

DNF. Main character has a single emotional note: arrogant and irate. She is extremely uncurious because she's convinced she knows it all already, and the author doesn't want to tell us anything about the world either, which makes the attempt at political intrigue a miserable thing. MC is also very stupid.

I love the pure disgust and disdain and rage the audiobook narrator chose to portray throughout this book. It made listening to this one a unique experience. I'll be diving right into the second one soon!

Entertaining but vague, leaving the reader questioning the world building and basic underpinnings of the setting.

I loved it. There were some parts I had to assume what had happened but it didn't take me out of the story. The fmc was perfect.
