If You Were A steamy, grumpy-sunshine, runaway bride Christmas romance from Norah Pritchard.

His solitary cabin getaway gets a lot more interesting with a feisty redhead along for the ride…and only one bed between them.

Welcome back to Northfield—where cozy holiday charm meets steamy small-town romance. Perfect for fans of Lucy Score and Devney Perry.

She ran from the altar.
He was the last man she should fall for.

When Lily Hart’s perfect life crumbles at the altar, she hikes up her wedding dress and hitches a ride with Northfield’s brooding, mysterious sheriff, Rush Callahan—known around town as Sheriff Sexy.

Rush has no use for Christmas cheer—or for the runaway bride who stirs up feelings he thought he’d buried for good. His vacation plans for a solitary week at a remote cabin get a lot more interesting with a feisty redhead along for the ride…and only one bed between them.

They swear it’s temporary. But back in Northfield, with lights strung across Main Street, carols in the air, and the whole town wrapped up in Christmas magic, lines blur. Hearts tangle. And the one thing they promised not to risk might be the very thing they both need most.

She’s sunshine. He’s storms.
But this Christmas, love could change everything.

Lost in Love

In ‘If You Were Mine’, Norah Pritchard intertwines two storylines. Lily Hart, a bride who runs away from the altar, crosses paths with Sheriff Rush during her escape. He carries his own unresolved trauma. Their refuge in Rush’s hunting cabin cuts them off from the outside world, both physically and emotionally. In this forced proximity, they slowly get to know each other layer by layer. Not long after, they decide to pretend they are in a relationship, a choice that brings their pasts and their feelings to the surface much faster than expected.

Pritchard’s writing has a natural, smooth flow. Romance, humor, and emotion blend effortlessly, with a strong emphasis on family bonds and interpersonal relationships. Lily is a female protagonist who, despite her insecurities, gradually learns to stand up for herself. Through the alternating perspectives, Rush’s inner world is portrayed just as clearly, giving the story an extra layer of depth. His trauma feels authentic rather than staged; raw, relatable, and carefully developed. The chemistry between Rush and Lily builds slowly and convincingly, evolving from distrust to understanding and eventually into genuine intimacy. The romance is not merely sweet; the spicy scenes add just enough intensity to keep it from being a typical feel-good romance.

A significant part of the book takes place in the hunting cabin. The atmosphere there is warm and intimate: the wood stove, the silence of the forest, the sense of being cut off from everything and everyone. It forces both characters to lower their defenses. In contrast, the town of Northfield feels open and alive, described so vividly that it seems as if you’re walking through it yourself, with that small-town familiarity where everyone knows each other and community becomes naturally healing. Both Rush and Lily undergo clear growth. Lily evolves from someone who accepts everything without protest into a woman who dares to choose what she wants, even when those choices bring major consequences. The predictability of the ending fits the genre and takes nothing away from the warmth, tension, and emotional weight of the story.

A recommendation for fans of fake dating, runaway bride, trauma healing romance and grumpy and sunshine, where love is not a rescue but a choice, and where two damaged people discover that connection begins when the masks finally fall.
Thanks to Happily Booked PR for this eARC! An honest review.

Vlucht naar Liefde

In ‘If You Were Mine’ verweeft Norah Pritchard twee verhaallijnen.

This romance was the perfect balance of heart and heat—sweet enough to swoon over, yet filled with spicy scenes that were chef’s kiss in all the best ways. Two words: Sexy Sheriff 🫠🥵!

She hit it out of the park with the tension, chemistry and the detailed intimate moments that were beautifully written and came at all the right moments- I couldn’t put it down!!

I absolutely loved Lily’s character; she’s warm, relatable, and adorable. The small-town vibes made the whole story feel cozy. I’ve adored each of the Hart sisters’ stories, and this one might be my favorite yet. I’m already counting down the days until the fourth sister’s story comes out!

If you like Colleen Hoover, Ali Hazelwood, or Emily Henry, don’t walk…run!

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Norah’s third book in her Northfield series, and it absolutely delivered. I shamelessly fall for the broody-man/sunshine-girl, opposites-attract trope every single time. The small-town vibe is chef’s kiss.. think a sexier, grown-up Gilmore Girls 😝.

The chemistry and tension in this one are off the charts, no one does it like Norah! The character development for both leads made the story feel even richer. The perfect winter read!

Norah has been teasing me with this book for ages. Runaway bride? Yes. Grumpy sheriff? YES. Snowed in/Only One Bed? HELL YES. Going back to Northfield is always like a warm hug. I adore the town and the characters that we meet. It's the small town of my dreams and I could reread these books again and again. This time, it's Sheriff Rush Callahan and dancer Lily Hart's turn for a HEA.

Lily runs out on her wedding after her fiance is revealed to be a douchebag. She literally runs into Rush's truck, HOPS IN and drives off with another man. Rush is on his way to his cabin for some much needed R&R for his mental health but of course it's storming so they get SNOOOOOWED IN!! They get stuck, have to walk up to the cabin and they're soaked to the bone. So they need to share BODY HEAT. A heated (in more ways than one!) SHOWER TOGETHER gets this book rolling.

I'm going to tell you right now… Rush Callahan is HOTT AF. He's a grumpy sheriff who's big, broad, dark and brooding with a MUSTACHE who is basically a pleasure dom (though not in so many words). This is Norah's hottest book to date and the sexy times are FIREEEE.

On top of all the sex, there's a really satisfying story of self discovery for Lily and really becoming the person she wants to be. Rush has a long way to go to undo his self loathing and heal from guilt after an accident the year before. Add in some meddling family members and an even more meddlesome small town and you've got a perfect book.

I could not put this book down. It made me laugh, cry, squeal with glee and want to shake characters to make them get out of their own way. It's fantastically written and makes you really care about the characters, their hopes and dreams and want them to be the best version of themselves.

I adore Norah and will always read and recommend her books. This is book 3 of 4 in the Northfield series. If you haven't met Daddy Davis in The Other Side of Forever or Mayor Theo in Maybe Someday With You, get off ya butt and go read! They are both on KU, ebook and paperback. Support this lovely indie author and then come back for Sheriff Sexxy. :)

If you’re looking for a romance that brings the heat along with the twinkle lights, this book absolutely delivers. Watching Rush, the grumpy-but-good-hearted sheriff grow, open up, and stumble his way into real feelings? Adorable. Seeing Lily grow and focus on what she wants and not settling, empowering! Character development and handcuffs—what more could a reader want?

The one-bed trope delivers exactly what you want it to. Forced proximity, simmering tension, and just the right amount of spice.

The cozy Christmas setting makes everything feel equal parts swoony and spicy. I genuinely fell in love with these characters as they fell in love with each other, which is really the holiday magic I signed up for.

Perfect for fans of small-town romance or readers who adore Emily Henry and Jasmine Guillory but are wishing their books came with a little more mistletoe and a lot more spice.

This one had me hooked. The depth yet again of the characters, the ability to portray and capture the impact of trauma and the journey towards learning to live with it and heal from it. I loved the strength of Lily and how she didn’t fold and settle for less, and that she still lived after he moved. That independence in a female character isn’t represented enough. And Rush, my goodness Rush. Everything brooding and wonderful and raw. That’s how her writing hits, raw and meaningful. I cannot wait for your next book and for my pre order to come in!

I loved being back in this small town, and I absolutely fell in love with Rush and Lily.

I think what stood out to me the most with these two was the amount of growth that we see for both of these characters. We see Lily finally stand up and set boundaries and step out of her comfort zone and we also see how Lily brings Rush out of his shell. I absolutely loved watching Rush be soft with Lily and slowly start to open up with her. I loved the intimate moments in the cabin where we truly got to see these two learn about each other and the challenges they faced when they were outside the cabin.

I am not usually a fan of a 3rd act but this one worked so well with these characters and their story and it was 100% necessary. Rush needed that kick in the a** to open his eyes and I loved seeing them together.

I can't wait to see what Norah has in store for us next .

Holy wow, Norah brought ALL THE SPICE with this one!

As always, the writing is fantastic and such an easy, fun read. Lily and Rush are great together, and can we give it up for the best boy ever, Riggs!?!

Chapter Two and I was already kicking my feet. By chapter Five? Holding my breath from the tension!

The chemistry absolutely crackles and watching Rush and Lily face down their own struggles and finally make their way back to each other was really beautiful!

𝗠𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦: I could NOT put this one down nor did I want to because I was so completely immersed into this story! While on his way to his cabin, Rush comes across Lily, a runaway bride who is desperate for an escape. While on the way to drop her off at a hotel the snow starts coming down in a dangerous amount so Rush has no choice to bring Lily to his cabin. This man trekked through the snow while carrying her in her wedding dress!! Talk about chivalry. The tension & angst between Rush & Lily was perfect. This one has all the small town holiday magic in it as well! I could visualize the cabin & the town of Northfield all decorated for the holidays. It made me want to jump right into the book to experience it all with the characters! I loved how Lily respected herself enough to walk away from something that wasn’t serving her. Rush came out of nowhere in the mix but it was all worth it. I loved the emotional depth between Lily & Rush too. Rush is dealing with guilt over a traumatic event he was involved in & Lily is on a journey of self discovery after finding out her fiancé was cheating on her minutes before walking down the aisle. I loved how they were able to open up to each other about their experiences while also providing mutual support. If you are still here & reading this, you need to add this one to your holiday TBR!!

It was such a treat to travel back to Northfield and read the third installment of Norah Pritchard’s series! What begins as a physical attraction between the main characters in If You Were Mine, slowly unravels into something much more vulnerable. Hurt but hopeful, Lily Hart dreams of a life filled with love and laughter. Rush Callahan, also known as Sheriff Sexy, is protective in all the best ways but carefully guards his own emotions. Norah Pritchard balances cozy holiday magic with a genuine exploration of trauma, grief, and second chances. You’ll want to curl up by the fire and read it in a single sitting! Norah Pritchard is one of my favorite authors. Her writing style is warm, effortless, and irresistibly engaging. She has a gift for crafting banter that feels natural and deeply charming, and her characters leap off the page with emotions, flaws, humor, and heart that feel wonderfully real. With each book, Norah Pritchard proves that she’s a storyteller to watch--one who can make you laugh, swoon, and feel every moment right alongside her characters.

Wow this book! Another arc complete & what an honor it was to read before it got released today! 🫶🏽 I haven’t read anything of Norah Pritchard before but as soon as I can I will be completing the other 2 books in the Northfield series.
What can I say about this couple! Can we take a second for the sheriff 😍😍😍
Okay and now for Lily, I love her character and how she grew throughout the book, with also brining rush out of his shell!

This book is about runaway bride Lily, who runs straight towards a truck, who happened to be sheriff Rush! He was on his way to the cabin to get an away for a few days alone, but the snow storm happened so Lily & Rush ended up in a snow cabin together!

If You Were Mine is book three in the Northfield series and is Rush and Lily's story.

Lily is a runaway bride, and she happens to run into Rush and gets in his truck. He's on his way to his cabin and they end up getting snowed in together.

This book was a first for me by this author and definitely won't be the last. The plot was well written, and the author brings the tension and spice in this one. This is also way more than just a romance book, and it has layers to it. I couldn't put this one down!

Releasing December 3, 2025. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was lucky to get an ARC of this story of Lily Hart and Rush, the sexy Sheriff of the quaint town of Northfield. Lily is a runaway bride who finds herself being unexpectedly rescued by the grumpy Sheriff ahead of a snow storm and holed up in a cabin for a few days. They're opposites in so many ways, but their chemistry is pure magic right from the start. The town of Northfield is the perfect setting for this holiday romance to unfold. I was hooked from the start and cannot wait to read her next one.

If you're a fan of Emily Henry, Colleen Hover, Tessa Bailey, and Ali Hazelwood, you'll want to pick up all of the books in the Northfield series!

Sheriff Sexy, indeed!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Norah does it again: she’s written a handsomely flawed MMC in Sheriff Rush Callahan. The way that he wants to care for Lily but doesn’t think he deserves to feel happiness is so honest and real. And Norah’s FMC, Lily Hart’s naive yearning to search for herself after nearly a decade in the wrong relationship feels like a truly lived experience.

A cozy, holiday read with LOTS of spice (and early 🥵😮‍💨) is just what old man winter ordered for everyone on the nice and naughty 😈 list.

Lily Hart running from her wedding and accidentally ending up in the truck of Northfield’s broody sheriff might be one of my favorite meet chaos moments of the year. Rush Callahan is the perfect mix of guarded, loyal, and quietly soft once you crack through all that sheriff-level grump. Their chemistry? Immediate. Electric.

The snowed in cabin setting gives the whole book this warm glow and I loved the way their emotional journeys unfolded alongside the romance. Lily’s growth, Rush’s healing, the way they learn to trust each other…there’s real depth here beneath the banter and the spice.

If you love small town charm, forced proximity, and characters who actually grow, this one deserves a spot at the top of your winter TBR.
