Dean Ross doesn’t do love songs. Lead guitarist of global rock phenomenon Devil’s Halo, he lives by one rule on tour and off: one and done. Heartbreak at seventeen taught him happily-ever-after is a myth — and he’s made damn sure to never be the fool twice. Enter Sadie Brooks, the razor-sharp photojournalist from Amped Music assigned to shadow the band for two unfiltered months. Her job? Capture the soul of Devil’s Halo. Her problem? Dean Ross. He hates her lens. She hates his ego. The band bus is small. The nights are long. The chemistry? Combustible. The more she invades his shadows, the more she becomes the only sound he can’t silence. Desire turns dangerous and the man who vowed never to fall, might just crash the hardest.
Michelle Windsor is the author of over a dozen steamy, contemporary romances filled with alpha males and even stronger females.. She has achieved both Amazon and Barnes & Noble International Best Seller status, and was awarded Best Contemporary Romance Writer by Passionate Plume Ink in 2019. Her first book, The Winning Bid, was nominated for the Summit Indie Book Awards by Metamorph Publishing in 2017, and continues to be her best-selling book to date.
Michelle is married with three grown children, and lives north of Boston in the type of suburban neighborhood you read about in sweet romance books. When she’s not working on another book, you can find her spending time with her husband, hanging out with her three sisters, or snuggled up with her three cats, yes three, watching a movie or reading a book.
Dean Ross, the lead guitarist for Devil's Muse, lives by one rule: One and done! Sadie Brooks is a photojournalist on tour with the band, to capture their story through the camera lens. What follows is a slow burn romance you're sure to love. Michelle brings us phenomenal characters and a storyline that you can't put down. I'm loving this series and I can't wait for more.
A fabulous addition to the Devil’s Halo series and dare I say, even better than book one? The tension between Dean and Sadie was so angst filled it had me gripping my Kindle for dear life. I loved that Michelle Windsor stepped outside the usual rockstar romance formula! The story felt fresh, grounded, and emotionally raw and the characters were deeply relatable and achingly real.
Dean Ross is the guitarist for Devil’s Halo rock band. They are currently traveling the US for the tour. He's always been a womanizer, never having more than just a hook up at every city. But, when he meets Sadie and is around her on the bus, and throughout the tour, he can't seem to stay away from her. Dean was hurt when he was younger, and stay away from anything that involves feelings now. But with Sadie he can't stay away. Dean is worried about what Sadie may / may not print about the band in the magazine. He doesn't want her to show them in a bad light. Dean isn’t cold and unfeeling. He’s wounded. He doesn’t avoid feelings because he doesn’t have them. He avoids them because he has too many.
Sadie Brooks is a photojournalist, who was sent by Amped Music assigned to shadow the band for two unfiltered months. Her job? Capture the soul of Devil’s Halo. She has feelings towards Dean, but knows she needs to stay away from him. But can they stay away from each other? Sadie takes pictures of Dean but when she goes to look through the pictures at the end of each venue she can't bring herself to 'print' Dean's pictures, she moves them into her private folders.
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest book review.
Devil's Rill is the second book in the Devil's Halo Rockstar Romance series.
Dean Ross, lead guitarist for Devil's Halo is a one night stand kind of guy. After losing his girlfriend in a tragic accident when he was a teenager, he's given up on any kind of meaningful relationship.
Sadie Brooks is a photojournalist hired to do a two month stint with the band for publicity. She does not want to get involved with band members.
Neither one of them understood how combustible their attraction to each other would be. With snide remarks and outright rudeness when they meet, when Dean has a flashback to the accident that changed his life in a moment, Sadie is there to pull him back to the present.
As they become accustomed to being in the same space, can they both leave their pasts behind and look toward the future?
Rockstar romance is beginning to grow on me. I really enjoyed this book!
Another great slow burn Rockstar romance book written by Michelle Windsor! I couldn’t put this one down! Dean and Sadie have a chemistry and banter you don’t want to miss! Dean is an arrogant and cocky hot guitarist who thinks he will never open his heart to love again. Sadie is on the tour to get behind the scene shots of the band for two months. The two clash at the beginning. The connection between them develops slowly overtime but they fight it.
Once you pick up this book, you don’t want to put it down! All of the characters are great and are all one big family. You get to see the bond that Luc and Dean have again in this book. I can’t rave enough about this book and series. I can’t wait for the next one. I am excited for Mikey’s story.
Check this series out if you like Rockstar romance. You won’t be disappointed!
I knew going in Dean's story was going to start like a concrete wall he has surrounding him. Sadie was the perfect person to chip away the pieces of the wall. She understood & cared about Dean & didn't let his past influence the way she felt about him. Dean sure didn't make it easy on Sadie but once the pieces let loose you saw a different side that Dean doesn't just show everyone. I will warn you this a slow burn the flame burns quite a bit before they are officially together. I was so excited that Sadie & Lily got along so well. Touring with rockstar's isn't for the faint of heart. There is always something going on... I so can't wait for the next book..
No sophomore slum here - this one might be even better than book 1. Life is about the choices you make and the internal voices in your head, but for Dean it has always been about the mistakes that he made that have plagued him and have not allowed him to break the cycle. That is until Sadie comes aboard. Dean and Sadie do not have an instant affection - more like animosity. But the way that Michelle Windsor brings them together was like pieces of a puzzle that fit perfectly even though the puzzle was not always correct. Loved the interactions, loved the snarky comebacks and just overall loved that those who thought they were unlovable found love.
Devils Riff There is just something about a tormented rockstar. Dean and Sadie have this great comradery. I loved their banter, their patience with each other and how they rolled into a slow burn that was serious and deep. Im loving this new world the Author created
Dean and Sadie's story is very much a slow burn, but full of angst with the struggle of overcoming fears from tragic pasts. It's a great addition to the series and a very different approach to rockstar romances that I really enjoyed.
