🎧 francesca peregrine, freddie wills, & james joseph did fab in bringing the characters to life in this duet narration. valentina sounded real genuine & so vulnerable when needed to. logan, u can hear his conflict, passion, & longing!! & is it juz me or did alfie sound like a solid (& xtremely fun in a chill way) kinda friend to have in ur corner?? hearing him makes me want more of him!! plus their scottish accents were lovely to hear😍

Dark Desires is absolutely the dark Scottish mafia romance you never knew you needed! This is a standalone story set in the world of the McGowan Mafia series by Effie Campbell. But trust me, you do not need to have read or listened to the other books in the series to completely devour this book. But you will likely wind up with a few more audiobooks added to your TBL list after listening to this. The story is set in Scotland amongst the crime syndicates of Glasgow and Edinburg and features age gap, forbidden romance, and arranged marriage tropes. This audiobook is intense! It grabs you right from the start and never lets go. It’s dark, kinky, twisty, sexy, and romantic. You will fall in love (and definitely in lust) with Logan, the penultimate mafia boss with an extremely naughty streak, and Valentina, who is sassy, sexy, independent, and only slightly stalkerish. They are perfect for each other, except for the pesky little fact that Logan has already agreed to an arranged marriage with Valentina’s cousin. The attraction is so strong, though, that they cannot stay away from each other, and before long, real feelings develop between them. But backing out of an arranged mafia marriage that’s joining two powerful crime syndicates could be extremely hazardous to one’s health. I was 100% invested in this story from the jump and loved seeing how this provocative couple navigated the seemingly-insurmountable obstacles to their happily ever after. And while they navigated those obstacles, they got busy. A Lot! On a scale of 1 to 10, the spice level in this audiobook is about a 50! And the fact that it’s delivered in Logan’s deep, growly, Scottish Daddy-Dom accent just pushes that number up even higher! But this story is about so much more than just spice. There are definitely a few completely unexpected twists and WTF moments that help make this story so very compelling. It’s narrated in duet style by Francesca Peregrine, Freddie Wills, and James Joseph. And they all went above and beyond in bringing this story to life, ramping up the intensity and heat with their incredible performances. They all embodied their characters so fully and completely that listeners can’t help but be drawn into the story and to hang on every word spoken. If you’re a fan of dark, mafia romance audio, this title is an absolute must have!

Wow!! All I can say is WOW!! FILTHY!! And I mean that as such a compliment!! I'm already a huge fan of Effie Campbell's work but, this is my first audiobook of hers. The Scottish accents were incredible but, the story. So spicy and so good.
This book follows the story of Logan, the oldest McGowan brother and head of the family syndicate. In order to expand the business, he agrees to a marriage with another family. His new fiancee has no interest in a relationship beyond the business arrangement (being in love with someone else). One night, while trying to take the "edge" off, he stumbles onto a cam girl. Imagine his surprise when, shortly after his amazing session with that cam girl, he runs into the real life girl, Valentina...
Cam girl, Valentina, is a bit bored with the regulars that she entertains on the cam site... until she experiences the faceless Logan. When she runs into him in real life and they both realize who the other is, Valentina is not ready to say goodbye. She knows it's not going to be love but, at least she can have some fun until he gets married!!
The story that unfolds was soooo super spicy and there was page after page of filthy good scenes but, that didn't take away from the storyline. Which kept me on the edge of my seat!! Best part of it, getting a glimpse of my fave playboy, Alfie!! I love the connection between the McGowan family members and, without getting into spoilers, Valentina's connection with her family.

This book is wild in the best way. Dark, spicy and a little bit unhinged, which is exactly what you expect from something called Dark Desires. The story pulls you in fast and the vibe stays heavy and hot all the way through!
It’s definitely not a soft romance and there are some serious themes and some rough moments, so check the warnings first. But the tension, the atmosphere and the way the story builds? Is amazing.
Effie Campbell knows how to mix emotional mess with straight up heat and is from the get go. If you like your dark romances intense, with complicated characters and a story that keeps you locked in, this one’s worth the read.
Logan, our MMC, is dominant and loyal to his family legacy to a fault. Valentina, our FMC, is bratty and on a one way mission once their paths meet.
The audio is preformed in duet by Francesca Peregrine, Freddie Wills and James Joseph. It’s paced very well and I didn’t find it too slow to listen too, though the Scottish Accent is one of these that can be hard to understand at first, though your soon used to it. Francesca Peregrine’s performance gives you every bit of the bratty behaviour and Freddie Wills the aggregated, desperate man, it was just so perfectly delivered! James Joseph’s voice as smooth as butter as always.
The narrators made you feel their desperation, irritation and everything inbetween, I even found myself chuckling at some of the banter and brattiness.

OMG. I have to admit that this is truly the first time listening to an audiobook, where I actually had to pace myself. This is because I found myself so in the "mood", that I had to take mini breaks just to calm myself down again. All of the narrators, Francesca Peregrine, Freddie Wills, and James Joseph were amazing! I also found myself talking with a slight accent for about a week after listening to this audiobook.
Looking for your next dark, age gap romance that will have you needing a cigarette and a cold shower afterwards, then, you need to pick up Dark Desires by Effie Campbell! This book had everything I craved...scorching hotness, touch her and d!e vibes, sexy main characters, and so much s#x.

A kinky as f*ck dark romance.
This is book #4 in the series, but I haven't read the others, so I can report that it works fine as a standalone. The spice and kink is top tier. This MFM dark romance is ticking all the boxes. We have a sex club (it's in a mansion!), we have a date 'auction', we have watching/sharing of partners, we have a pierced c*ck, what more do we need?
I love dark romance, but switched to other genres for a bit and wanted to get back into it. This. This was exactly what I wanted. Can't wait to continue with the rest of the series.

PHEW!!!! The way this book is one of the Filthiest books Effie Campbell has written and I was melting the whole damn time!!
I knew this book was going to be the best and I was patiently waiting since I knew I needed to consume the audio and boy was I not disappointed! Logan’s mouth was just FILTHY! And Valentina knew exactly what she wanted and she got him!
The Alfie came into the picture and I screamed! Logan sure does like to share his baby girl with his friends and she ate up every moment of it! Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants and gets it!
The Narrators did a phenomenal job and I drooled over all of their Scottish accents!

I knew this book was going to be the best and I was patiently waiting since I knew I needed to consume the audio and boy was I not disappointed! Logan’s mouth was just FILTHY! And Valentina knew exactly what she wanted and she got him!
The Alfie came into the picture and I screamed! Logan sure does like to share his baby girl with his friends and she ate up every moment of it! Gotta love a girl who knows what she wants and gets it!
The Narrators did a phenomenal job and I drooled over all of their Scottish accents!

I alc this and omg again the story was so amazing brought to life. I love effie in all her writing so I will say this every book was so good so yea audio is sooooo good bringing it to life francesca freddie and james were so good. Spicy lvl was super spicy ( not an at work listen will tell you that ) there is some unhinged things going on. Pace is fast and eventful , you got your emotions to watch out for Effie of coarse puts you thru them as always and the characters add to that turmoil lol. Their personalities were portrayed better than my imagination and I loved it 10/10 recomend this series and these books/ audios!

Holy Hotness…this was hands down THE SPICIEST book in the series thus far!
Effie Campbell really outdid herself with this one. There was primal…age gap…cam girl stuff…an auction…public sex…sharing…MM/MMMF/ MFM …literally everything.
The story was intoxicating and I couldn’t stop reading/listening. I think this might be my favorite so far. My only reason for this not being 5 stars is due to me not really being a fan of FMCs continuously throwing themselves at the MMC after being rejected. Once that moved on I was really locked in.

My fav duo by far. I loved how Valentina had Logan by the short and curly’s. She had me in fits of laughter with her antics. Logan had no chance she knew what she wanted and went for it. Logan is chefs kiss I adored him he’s my fav brother so far. He just did it for me. This story was so good. And the twists were so good. The accents were so good. I enjoyed my car rides listening to these two.

okay daddy Logan and Valentina in audio was so much better than I thought it could be and we add in Alfie and I am melted in a puddle.
