Amber Ridge, Book 5
By: Nyssa Kathryn
Narrated by: Avery Caris, Lee Samuels
Nyssa Kathryn has outdone herself once again, penning another winning novel, an enthralling romantic suspense that not only captivates your attention the entire time, but tugs at your heartstrings too. After meeting Noah Hayes in the previous book, I knew his story was going to be something special, a former marine returning home with baggage, PTSD, from his time serving and continually battling those inner demons. After his discharge from the Marines, Noah went to Amber Ridge and got the Wilderness Adventure Park up and running. Addison “Addie” March needed to move out of her family home, wanting to be more independent, so she moved to Amber Ridge and got a job at the newly opened park. Addie and Noah take to each other immediately, but not only does working for him make her off limits, but she is younger than him, too. He worries he’s dangerous and a liability, with unpredictable flashbacks, so distances himself, but the problem is she soothes him like no other can. When Addie gets threatening messages, Noah’s protective side comes out, and all he wants to do is keep her safe. Then the threats escalate, putting others in danger as well. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. The author keeps you on your toes and guessing about who is making the threats and why. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Nyssa Kathryn, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful audiobook production and listen performed by Avery Caris and Lee Samuels, who did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. Their character voices were fitting for a perfect portrayal of each, loving how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined they would sound. Caris was a natural in Addie’s role, grasping all aspects of her personality, including her empathy, and Samuels did the same in Noah’s role and was just as amazing showcasing his personality, including his battle with his inner demons, his vulnerabilities and his fierce protectiveness. These two make a fabulous narration team, with voices and talent that complement each other and a captivating performance that keeps you hooked to the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.
