Fifth in an ongoing series featuring paranormal investigators Ellen and Monty Drew. Ellen claims to possess a sixth sense, but Monty, a former P.I., only believes what he can see. She views their work as a sacred mission while Monty just wants a happy wife and a paycheck.

In GHOST CRYPT, the Drews are hired to investigate paranormal activity in the Tube in London. Strange things are afoot while the train is in motion, including doors opening unexpectedly. Also, passengers have reported frightening apparitions.

When Ellen and Monty go underground, they discover that some construction may have stirred up ancient ghosts. After the possession of a Tube passenger, Ellen knows the spirits are searching for something—or someone. But what? Or whom?

Ellen’s need to communicate with the spirits in ancient languages means she has to play medium with the help of a translator. When the investigation lands them in the center of an ancient conflict, they encounter a mysterious force that may keep the spirits from going into the light.

As Ellen balks at continuing on the case, Monty realizes they must choose between freeing the Tube from its hauntings and risking their own lives.

Will Monty and Ellen break the case before someone gets hurt on the Tube? Or before they do?

GHOST CRYPT is a ghost-packed paranormal investigation with spirited thrills, spine-tingling paranormal interaction, and humorous moments.

This is the fifth installment in the "Ghost Files" series, which has been written by several authors. Main characters are Ellen and Monty Drew, a married ghost-hunting team. Ellen is the sensitive, while Monty (in whose pov the stories are written) is the gadget-toting tech guy.

Monty and Ellen are hired to investigate paranormal activity in London's Tube. Doors have been opening, passengers are hearing and witnessing apparitions, and it seems only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Unfortunately, the Drews' luggage goes awry, leaving Monty without his equipment. They will need to rely on Ellen's sixth sense to find out what is going on. What they discover is that new construction seems to have stirred up and/or released the activity. When they encounter spirits speaking ancient languages, Ellen and Monty are forced to work with a translator. They learn that the spirits of Romans and Celts are still waging eternal battle for Britain, and that something is keeping them from crossing over. This time, it's Ellen who is reluctant to continue with an investigation. She feels completely out of her depth. Her reaction worries Monty, who is usually the one trying to put the brakes on a harrowing investigation. If they continue, can they rid the Tube of its ghosts and restore safe travel?

I was pleasantly surprised when this book started out better than the most recent ones I've read in the series. For the most part, it was fun and flowed well. However, I was disappointed that the focus was less on the investigation and more on Monty and Ellen's experiences in London and their interactions with other characters. The ending was extremely disappointing. There was a sad lack of the creep factor that other books in the series have had. It was all rather bland.

Giving this one a three. The narrative was engaging enough, but the paranormal factor fell flat.

Ellen and Monty, client wants them in London, the tube is having paranormal activity, opening and closing doors on the trains. They are doing major renovations adding on new lines They encounter a Latin ghost
saying “we will conquer all”. A spirit of 2,000 years ago. A fascinating plot that keep you involved, without equipment, only Ellen’s feeling’s. The ghosts have disappeared or moved on, they feel they have failed. Mr. Black giving them a check, saying they hadn’t. This was a joy to read, you could sense what they were doing and looking for. Well done Chanel, and looking for more by you.

Ellen and Monty are on a strange adventure. On a layover in London, Ellen gets a call from someone that needs their expertise. It seems that a new Tube tunnel is seriously haunted. Ellen finds that they aren't dealing with just ghosts. They meet a man who can help them, but when finds that the ghosts will go away if they have a sacrifice. They know he leads a lonely existence, but would he sacrifice himself? Ellen and Monty don't want to believe that he would do it, but when the ghosts disappear and so does their friend, did he really sacrifice himself?
