Why the Universe Exists: Two Theories, One Cosmic Question

Rate this book
For as long as human thought has existed, we have asked two fundamental did this universe come into being? And why does it exist at all?
The first question - the how has been addressed in countless ways. Ancient Indian scriptures speak of Hiranyagarbha, the golden womb of creation. Modern cosmology points to the Big Bang, an explosion from an infinitesimal singularity. Quantum physics offers models of fluctuations in a vacuum. Religion, mythology and science each offer different creation stories, yet most of them stop short at one critical point.

The why remains unanswered.

Why would there be a universe at all instead of nothingness? Why should there be life, consciousness, joy, suffering, birth and death? And if there is a creator who is either personal, impersonal or purely systemic, why is this creation sustained?

This book is an attempt to venture into that unmapped territory. I am less concerned with how the switch was turned on and more with why there was a switch to turn on in the first place. Along the way, I propose two theories that bridge ancient metaphysics with cutting-edge The Hatchery of Many Souls - viewing the universe as a training ground for consciousness to evolve towards liberation. The Universe as One Living Being - exploring panpsychism, Gaia theory and cosmic organism analogies. These are not final answers. They are working hypotheses, drawn from Vedic cosmology, Buddhist insight, quantum consciousness research and biological parallels.

This is not a religious book, but it respects scriptures. It is not a science book, but it respects the scientific method. It is a dialogue between two languages of truth that rarely sit at the same table.
