Rian and the Magnolia That Stayed is a gentle middle-grade story about a 12-year-old girl who notices the world more deeply than most. Rian’s favorite place is Sterling Park, especially the wide old magnolia tree she sits under to think. When she finds out the town plans to build a new food-truck area that could erase what she loves about the park, she decides she can’t just watch it happen.

KC Richardson attended college on a basketball scholarship, and her numerous injuries in her various sports led her to a career in physical therapy. Her love for reading and writing allows her to create characters and tell their stories. She and her wife live in Southern California where they are trying to raise respectful fur kids. When KC isn’t torturing… erm… fixing people, she loves spending time with her wonderful friends and family, reading, writing, kayaking, working out, and playing golf.
