The Primordial Spire

Rate this book
The mighty obelisk within the Black Sea has haunted the waves since time immemorial, an almighty cataclysmic monument to the dark goddess.

The great continent of Aibon has been using this demonic monolith for centuries, making a pilgrimage once a year to sentence the worst of beings to its depths. When death is too kind, the Spire will be your final judgement.

But this time will be different.

This group of accused souls cast into the midst of the goddess’s realm were chosen by a higher calling than those of the laws or governments of mortals. They are here to lay claim to something ancient dwelling at the bottom level of the darkness. All manner of horrors lay between them and their fate, lurking in the abominable shadows with hunger, fangs, and claws.

Join these damned crusaders on a journey that will test their mettle and bring them to the very edge of reality as the void lingers ever nearer.

The Primordial Spire awaits.

This was one epic ride!
Warning: this is not like the typical romance or YA that I usually recommend. It’s dark fantasy with adult rating for language, icky monster violence and guts, spice and difficult adult themes.
But it’s not all dark because Mr Doyle wrote it, and I laughed—chuckled—and eye rolled a ton.
I rarely love a multi character pov because I usually want to skip some characters in favour of others—not with this. I was fully invested in each of their stories and messaged the author frequently with threats of book burning when I couldn’t handle the emotional whiplash.
Reading this was intense—well done.

🪄 Simply the most amazing book I have read in a very long time. The main characters are so well written you can’t help but be invested in all their past, present and future. Now the side characters… well this is where the surprise comes. I absolutely swear, first you will love each and everyone (well, until the last two chapters) 🤷‍♀️ NEVER expected that to happen. And 2) 🤭 all I am saying is these are not your typical side characters. 🤫 Cinder was my first favorite but closer to the end Celine was grand!
🥰 This review is not finished. I just read the ending and I need a minute.
⭐️ To be completely transparent this is a 5 star read from the first chapter, it is thrilling from the beginning and the suspense just keeps on rising until you think you can’t draw in a breath

I was fortunate enough to be a beta reader for this book, and I loved every minute of it. This book is filled with incredible characters and their arcs. If you love a book for characters, this is the book for you. There isn't a dull moment in this entire book - it kept me interested from the start to the finish. I am so glad there will be a second book because I want to see more of these characters!
