This was a really good, thought-provoking read. I loved how the story highlights the lasting damage childhood trauma can cause—and that trauma doesn’t come in just one shape or size. Telling the story from both the therapist’s perspective and the “child’s” point of view was such a smart choice and kept me fully engaged. There’s also a strong, heartfelt message about how doing what you love can completely change how you experience your life and work, which really resonated with me. I was a bit confused by Lindy and Pete’s final exchange and felt like something meaningful was left unsaid—maybe intentionally—but it didn’t quite land for me. I also knocked off that fifth star due to some proofreading issues (missing words and spelling errors), but overall, this was still a gripping and worthwhile read.
