This was an enjoyable travelogue to read. Full of interesting train routes, characters, and place across Europe and Asia with some good humour throw in. However, I do think this could benefit from a professional edit. The numerous long sentences took a little while to get used to. Also the use of photographs would go a long way as the lack of photographs was surprising given that this is a travelogue and because the author refers to taking photographs a lot. But despite those things, it was still worth the time spent reading.
